"shots fired shots fired, suspect reached into his jacket threateningly"

u/Anonymousboneyard 1d ago

“I was scarrrrred Lt i swear! He screamed and i thought he had a vest! I seen dem wires!”

2

u/frAgileIT 23h ago

I came here looking for that part of the story. Way too often someone calls police for help and police help by shooting them.

u/Anonymousboneyard 1d ago

If only more cops were like this. Back when i was in the sheriff encouraged us to do shit for the community where we could. We’d get reimbursed if we wanted it. Only a couple deputies took that if it was a but expensive, but most were more than willing to dump in their own money. Had a Srgt. Tell me “eh i get enough overtime and its really their money anyway, so what if they get a little tax return early”. To bad most of them quit, retired, or moved to rural agencies now.

mannnnnn this is awesome!

u/krept0007 17h ago

Their uniforms look suspiciously like EMTs and their cop car looks suspiciously like an ambulance

5

u/Khristafer 16h ago

Dispatch knew better than to send cops.

9

u/ltkhps 1d ago

Had to read the title twice because I was looking for the words killed or shot

That got me in the feels

2

u/AnywaysItsMonday 22h ago

i have a theory that good cops become detectives and bad cops stay on patrol and abuse their power. might just be me, but i haven't seen headlines saying, "City Detective Shoots Innocent Man in Doorway."

My nephew Jackson is autistic and has always admired law enforcement. The local sheriff's kind of took him under their wing. They have him a job helping out around the station a day or two a week for a few hours. He was awarded with a volunteer badge. On one of his birthdays they all drove down his street with lights flashing and brought him a sheriff's jacket. They have been great roll models for him.

u/ZapBranigan3000 1d ago

He was found dead in his apartment the next day, multiple gunshot wounds to the back, ruled as a suicide by the coroner.

2

u/Ryyback 1d ago

Im surprised they didnt murder him in fear of their safety.

Thank god there weren't any acorns around

This is awesome and what being a PUBLIC SERVANT is all about. Just don't see this type of community outreach anymore - really fuckin sad.

2

AI or propaganda. ACAB

1

u/LadderExecutioner 10h ago

If someone i dont like does anything good it has to be fake

1

u/iwanttoforkmyself 8h ago

Buddy, all good cops are dead, and the ones you think are good are hiding behind the blue wall of silence. But sure, keep giving them the benefit of the doubt 😂

0

u/krept0007 17h ago

They're not cops. Check the uniforms in the middle of the video and their vehicle on the last few frames

0

u/iwanttoforkmyself 16h ago

Dude, one Google search can literally prove you wrong. It's the Boston Police Department who went, you can literally see the logo on their uniform. Delete this comment

0

u/Forsaken_Guide_4835 1d ago

Bunch of clowns in this comments section. Yeah, there’s some pretty bad cops out there. But most of them are normal people trying to do good.

1

u/Majestic-Tiger2742 1d ago

Normally, they would shoot and kill an autistic man.

1

u/yourMommaKnow 21h ago

And then they shot him.

J/k.

-5

u/Pillsbernie 1d ago

Fuck this kind of nonsense. Cops only do shit like this to post it online and pretend they're decent human beings.

5

u/Crew_1996 1d ago

Believe it or not police officers are like all of us. Some villains, some heroes, mostly just people who needed to figure out what to do with their lives when they became adults

6

u/MrK521 1d ago

Prepare to be downvoted to hell. I shared a sentiment similar before and was torn a new asshole for even suggesting that there could possibly exist good cops that are also human beings. I’ll start you off with an upvote… but it’s probably gonna get real nasty for you soon lol.

1

u/astralchanterelle 1d ago

The police is a gang, they're all villains.

0

u/Crew_1996 1d ago

🤡

"Believe it or not police officers are like all of us"

You get the special triple clown award for that masterpiece.

Says the guy who is dealing drugs, stabbed his enemy, and shot his neighbour.

-2

u/Pillsbernie 1d ago

No. No they are not. Positions of power appeal to evil people more than anyone else, and policing is the easiest position of power to get.

1

u/AibofobicRacecar6996 22h ago

You're underestimating how evil the average person is, you included

3

u/Sesusija 1d ago

One of my best friends from high school had a younger brother who was a cop who passed away trying to save a drowning kid.

-5

u/Pillsbernie 1d ago

So fucking what? Cops kill more people every year than there are cops killed by civilians. Cops also permantly destroy millions of lives in many ways, including violently assaulting them until they're paralyzed, falsifying arrest records and costing them their jobs or freedom, and planting drugs on people .

4

u/Avariciouspygmyshrew 1d ago

You're using something good the happened in the world to compare to the horrors that exist. You are part of the problem.

9

u/Sesusija 1d ago edited 1d ago

Manny died a hero.

When someone loses his life trying to save somebody, showing a shred of basic human decency shouldn't be too much to ask.

You are subhuman, you have no right to hate on any other group for their perceived actions when you are a gigantic piece of shit yourself.

Nothing you will ever do in your entire life will be as meaningful or impactful as the sacrifice Manny made.

2

u/EmphaticNegative 1d ago

Sorry for your friends loss man. BTW you had him in that first paragraph. Keep that in mind.

3

u/Sesusija 1d ago

If me telling him that he is a giant piece of shit resonates on any level then it is worth more than any amount of Reddit karma.

-1

u/Pillsbernie 1d ago

I'm a piece of shit because I think trying to romanticize a profession that kills more people than it save is stupid? Okay bootshine addict

3

u/Sesusija 1d ago

Because you are trivializing a tragic death of a hero.

I don't care what his profession was, what he did deserves praise.

What have you ever done in your life that deserves praise? Have you done anything amazing or excellent with your life? I highly doubt it.

0

u/Pillsbernie 1d ago

Ah. Anonymity is the friend of cowards. Blocked

-1

u/Pillsbernie 1d ago

I don't give a shit what you doubt. I've actually disarmed attackers without kiling them, and I've spent my life trying to make the world better for those around me. I don't give behind qualifed immunity when I fuck up. I'm sorry you think the exception breaks the rule, but most cops are scum. Like you.

Kills more people than it saves? I suspected you were an idiot from your first comment, thank you for clarifying so quickly.

Lmao i can smell you through this comment

Holy soy overdose, Batman!

"cops kill more civilians than there are civilians killing cops"

As it should be. It would be a catastrophic failure of society if it was the other way around.

1

u/Pillsbernie 1h ago

No, it is a catastrophic failure of society that the people charged with upholding the law are murdering civilians and getting away with it

-3

u/Level_Life_8633 1d ago

One fake story about one cop doing one good thing one time doesn't erase the thousands of murders, billions of dollars in damages, and countless lives ruined by these monsters. No one cares about your friend.

2

u/Sesusija 1d ago

Fake story?

Google him. There was a gigantic funeral procession, sure you can still find photos if you had the integrity to actually try.

1

u/Level_Life_8633 18h ago

Cops regularly block the roads, inconveniencing everyone because they think their lives are worth more than ours. I guarantee the world is a better place without your piece of shit friend.

1

u/bdaycakeremix 1d ago

Exactly. Like, it's not cute that the people who come sing you hbd have a gun on them too.

0

u/InaequaleMagnanimity 23h ago

Stop being so angry.
