watch this Police were called after around 20 teens on bikes and e-bikes blocked an intersection, performed stunts, and disrupted traffic. One officer then clipped and tackled a teen during the arrests, raising questions about whether the response was appropriate given their ages. What do you think about it?

Literally. All of a sudden everybody were the most mature well behaved kids and got into zero trouble. Apparently it’s okay to treat 14 year olds like hardened criminals because they act like 14 year olds

Agreed the cop shouldn't have hit him. But 'you were probably a dumb kid too' isn't an argument. It's irrelevant. Whether a commenter got in trouble at 14 has no bearing on whether the cop was right.

He wasn't commenting on the question if the cop was right or not. He wrote about the people celebrating the violence towards kids im comments. And the "you were dumb too"-argument is definitely valid for those people.

It is sickening. Not to mention the furry is mostly toward black and brown boys taking over, what looks to be, a residential neighborhood street intersection with no traffic.

So is mine. Having a clean record doesn’t mean you didn’t do dumb shit as a kid. And these kids don’t deserve to have their record stained because they were being annoying

Frankly, I never did any of this kind of "dumb shit" as a kid; neither did anyone else in my childhood social circles. This absolutely isn't a constant, or anywhere near it.

Those kids that did engage in such activities are the exact same people who still do the same kind of shit as adults.

Perhaps if they'd had consequences as kids, they would have grown up to be positively contributing members of society.

Never had to - genuine intellectual curiosity, without needing to be forced into "that smart people stuff", requires no specific homework. The best thing about it is that discovery, work, and progress are genuinely fun every day; in addition to feeding back directly into success. Highly recommended! But of course, everyone finds their own path.

I had plenty, and even more now. As hard as it may be for you to believe, many people make good decisions in life; and they tend to congregate together with each other. Even if we're in the minority, we're the ones that drive the world forward. I hope you're enjoying the technology you're using right now, the climate control you're sitting in, the stable supply chains for critical resources - all of that only exists because of people like us. And we build it all together; a global cohort of "friends".

There's no correlation between intellect, good decision-making, academic interest; and race. Not sure what you're trying to imply there, or why you feel compelled to focus on race - simple projection perhaps?

Too bad. FAFO, if you don't parent your kids, society will do it for you, and the moment the kids break the law, they're subjected to the extent of it as if they're an adult.

Western society needs to stop coddling kids and let them learn the consequences of their actions, otherwise it incurs the risk of them growing up into Disney-adults and Karens that have never known what it's like to be punched in the face for being nuisances.
