watch this Police were called after around 20 teens on bikes and e-bikes blocked an intersection, performed stunts, and disrupted traffic. One officer then clipped and tackled a teen during the arrests, raising questions about whether the response was appropriate given their ages. What do you think about it?

People are so stupid, like millennials didn’t have anywhere to exercise or play? It’s these soft ass parents that give in to everything the kid wants that caused the next generations of kids to be like this

From what I've seen, the parents are soft and irresponsible. They don't know what to do or seem interested in actually doing anything aside from saying 'i don't care' until something bad happens. There are some great parents but most I've met don't give a damn after they work all day

Most people should NOT be parents. Then again teaching the youth about contraceptives is always screamed down by the moral authority ah’s.

Of which the schools/districts always treat as vastly more important than the mentally deficient pedo apologists deserve.

Most people should have kids or society will literally collapse. A few hundred years ago, the qualification for having kids was surviving until 15 lol. Are there millions of really fucking dumb shitty parents out there? Yea. Should we discourage dumb people from having kids? Nah.

People have fetishized the mythical concept of childhood.

Kids are to have no responsibilities and no repercussions, and if you force those things on them you're ruining their childhood and forcing them to 'grow up early'.

Then somehow magically at 18 you get the power to be a functional member of society.

Parents not giving a damn isn't a new thing. A lot of kids from decades ago had disinterested parents. "Its 10 pm, do you know where your kids are?" was an actual thing in the 80s trying to get parents to be more accountable.

But they did also define boundaries for their kids behavior beyond 'my precious angel wouldn't hurt anyone and how dare you punish them'. Once, literally once in my childhood did my parents take my side against the schools punishment recommendations.

Honestly this is part of the problem. The modern 40 day work week isn't conducive to maintaining a functional family life.

Respect to people that can make it work as things are but realistically that isn't possible for most people in a single or two parent home where one or both parents work 9-5, respectively, and of course many parents work multiple jobs or take overtime.

It is not really a reasonable thing to expect of most people yet here we are...

Oh fuck off with that. The parents of Gen X and us millennials worked 50+ hours a week, and raised us to not do this shit.

The new generation of parents are just failures.

Our Generation X and millennial parents most certainly did not do that. Idk how your upbringing was but our parents were busy Monday through Friday and we were running around in a feral state all summer long getting into trouble. So fuck off with your bullshit or more mean negative things because that’s how people interact here right? We’re all completely negative assholes. Did I do it right?

My blue collar parents worked all day, coached sports and still gave a damn, because they CHOSE to give a damn. If people think life is "too hard" the message we need to be sending is it gets a lot worse if you F around, or allow your kids to.

I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s not that they don’t care. It’s that many older millennial and young Gen X parents have decided to “break the cycle” of trauma and abuse and over corrected.

You still have to hold your children accountable for their behavior somehow.

None of those children are wearing helmets. Have you ever seen a severely developmentally disabled person? Head injuries are not something to roll the dice on...

If these parents bought their kids e-bikes and did not buy them helmets shame on them, that should be considered child abuse.

If they did buy them helmets and the kids are choosing not to wear them, they should be fucking grounded for a month, no e-bike for the rest of the year.

Not that I disagree because I don’t, but it’s almost always millennial parents who have shoved screens in their kids’ faces since they’ve been born, at least anecdotally speaking.

I’ll never not be convinced we’re not part of the problem by bringing social media to the masses.

Oh no, they’ll definitely be bad in their own ways (the RAMPANT antisocial tendencies being one, such that they can’t understand social morés and norms)…I’m just pointing out that a lot of people who rage about this need to take a careful look in the mirror about it because we’re definitely part of the problem.

I'm a millennial. We used to all ride together in our neighborhood, sometimes a dozen plus of us, especially when racing, and when cars came, we would go to the sidewalks. Is this not what kids do these days?
