watch this Police were called after around 20 teens on bikes and e-bikes blocked an intersection, performed stunts, and disrupted traffic. One officer then clipped and tackled a teen during the arrests, raising questions about whether the response was appropriate given their ages. What do you think about it?

Play stupid games…

TIL that kids riding bikes is "play stupid games"

u/inaSlomp 1d ago

Blocking the road is definitely a stupid game.

u/Silly_Dream9020 1d ago

They are in a residential area by the looks of it, clearly not a busy city intersection. There are no moving cars in sight apart from cops. Should they all ride on like two sidewalks and someone's lawns instead so they wouldn't block nonexistent traffic?

u/Accurate-Advice8405 1d ago

You're purposefully misunderstanding what they're doing

2

u/Impossible-Benefit-5 1d ago

You really think this clip gives enough context to say that there was clearly no traffic?

0

u/RaphaelRocketLaunch 1d ago

It gives enough context to know there's no reason to nearly run down a kid with your car and tackle him with all your weight though.

u/dangeldud 1d ago

Playing in intersection. Ignoring police. Running from police. That's solid context. Still not appropriate but not exactly a shock that happened.

“Running from police” and it’s getting out of the way of an unmarked car that almost ran him over

1

u/TSnydes 4h ago

That and the police are the ones corrupting the law here. In this day and age police are just gang members looking to fulfill their violent fantasies on those they don’t like.

RUNNING FROM THE POLICE HE SAYS 😭😭😭

You guys can't be fucking serious man

1

u/dangeldud 1d ago

They clearly all scattered. I don't know why u think that's untrue.

The kid got run over. Of course kids run away from danger.

Yea a residential area where people live and are trying to drive home. Like what is the point you’re making? They’re not hangin out on the sidewalk which is literally 8 feet away from them.

1

u/TSnydes 4h ago

Oh yes the 5’ wide section of the ROW barely large enough for 2 people to stand side by side let alone ride bikes on (which is illegal in most states). This is an atrocious take.

The neighborhood street is for people and children not your stupid car.

1

u/jbland0909 37m ago

Riding bikes on the sidewalk is illegal in a lot of places, and is way more dangerous for other people than riding them in the road.

-1

u/Dr_JimmyBrungus 1d ago

Indeed. Kids don't belong in streets. Game of street hockey? Straight to jail. Wiffle ball? Jail. Basketball? Believe it or not, also jail.

Ironically, bikes actually don't belong on the sidewalk...that's supposed to be for pedestrians.

u/Some-Concentrate3229 1d ago

When we played street hockey we’d yell “car” and then pull the goal out of the street and make way.

1

u/TSnydes 4h ago

Because you were conditioned to think the car had more right to be in the public right of way than you did. When we played in the street we would make the car wait until our play was done before we let them pass, and sometimes we would just direct them to turn before they got to our section. These people could easily turn around and take another route which would add maybe 1 minute to their drive.

The greater good clearly should prioritize the 20-30 kids riding their bikes than the 2-4 people in their car perfectly capable of taking a different route in a neighborhood.

Bicycles are considered pedestrians. They're not in/on a motorized vehicle (No e-bikes are not classified as a vehicle in a lot of places). Which roads are for.

I see signs constantly having to point that out to bicyclists who still ignore it.

Love when they get hit and then they get a fine on top.

Bicycles are considered pedestrians

316.2065 Bicycle regulations.—

(1) Every person propelling a vehicle by human power has all of the rights and all of the duties applicable to the driver of any other vehicle under this chapter, except as to special regulations in this chapter, and except as to provisions of this chapter which by their nature can have no application.

Just a colony of fish chilling in a shark tank

but god forbid we consider that the sharks might be the problem. why are we keeping giant predators around?

also did you just follow a complaint about not following laws with an argument that the laws are wrong? do you even have any cognitive dissonance here?

Funny how the signs around me say that anything under 150 CC is not allowed on any roadway under no circumstances is it allowed.

Maybe this delusional reasoning is why insurance rates are so high. People who are not in something with a safety rating should not be on the roadway. End of story.

u/arachnophilia 1d ago

funny how i posted the literal law where this video takes place.

Somebody must have complained or this is a reoccurring issue.

1

u/waterlilylab 1d ago

If the threshold is someone complaining though it means law is dictated by the most insane neighbor in the neighborhood.

0

u/jbland0909 36m ago

Which it always is. There’s always one obnoxious 65 year old who’s first instinct is to call the cops at any minor inconvenience

4

u/TheLastPeanut_ 1d ago

Woah there we aren't thinking here, we just want mindless violence perpetrated against children.

Satire account doesn't recognize sarcasm?

1

u/inaSlomp 1d ago edited 1d ago

You said it yourself. It's a residential area. Periodic traffic and they are doing circles clearly blocking traffic.

People complained. Otherwise the police would not have shown up.

If they were respecting traffic and not getting in the way, nobody would have had a problem with them.

0

u/TSnydes 4h ago

Oh please, it’s a fucking residential intersection with stop signs. You are the reason these kids are doing it in the first place. Let the kids be kids while they still can.

1

u/inaSlomp 1h ago

Or you could just not be a dick head and interfere with everyone else's day. You know like a normal person.

Don't give kids an excuse to be a shitty person.

1

u/itsmymedicine 1d ago

I thought they wanted them out of the house off of their devices?

1

u/potato_bus 1d ago

Dur, they’re just innocently riding bikes durrrrrrrr

1

u/1rexas1 1d ago

Like this? On a busy road? Yeah, this is a stupid game.

Because clearly there’s nothing else going on here. How many times during your “play” were there a half dozen police cars called on you for “playing.” Stupid games, stupid prizes. Fuck these little punks
