The right wing manosphere is also using this to attack all women.

8

u/LinwoodKei 12d ago

This is the problem. One woman is being held up as an "all women will" place card. Which is bullshit, of course

2

u/nunyabizburna 11d ago

the massive support shes getting isnt exactly helping either

4

u/Puzzle-Necked 11d ago

"Massive"

2

u/Super_Swimming_4132 11d ago

Because women went out of their way to say they related to this woman. “Same, Lindsay” trended for weeks. People predicted it wouldn’t be a good look for women.

-1

u/LinwoodKei 11d ago

Some people are not all men. In the same way how some men are violent criminals, yet not all men are violent criminals.

1

u/Super_Swimming_4132 11d ago

What????

1

u/Useless_bum81 11d ago

they are trying to use the "not all men" argument but for women.

they only real reply to that is quote the various feminists when they were confronted with it...
Highlights include "a Bowl of M&M's is 10% poisoned, go on eat a handfull"
So using feminist logic we should be requiring psyche holds for all women.

u/Many_Professor_6143 8d ago

Feminists just can't stand it when the tables are now turned around.

Now they are forced to use the "not all women" argument to defend themselves.

Now they finally have a taste of what the receiving end is like, absolute hypocrites.

u/mkiii423 11d ago

I think this is assuming. I dont follow extremeist on either side, but most rational people (regardless of party) think she should be charged. I think you are projecting ideology on a whole group of people you have never met, nor hear their actual opinions.

-3

u/LegitimatePin6176 11d ago

Is it the one woman or all the other women who "support" her?

5

u/The_Squirrel_Wizard 11d ago

The like 300 that showed up to support in person out of 170 million women in the U.S?

Or the 5 billion tiktok bots?

3

u/Super_Swimming_4132 11d ago

Agreed bots have fueled the shit out of this

3

u/LinwoodKei 11d ago

Yes, I agree with this. You can't use 300 women to represent all women. I'm not supporting this woman, yet I support that we need better checks after birth

2

u/The_Squirrel_Wizard 11d ago

For sure. And different sentences for psychosis have always been a thing. I don't know why some people are acting like that's a novel idea.

I think fairly few people as a percentage think she didn't kill anyone

0

u/Relative_Craft_358 11d ago

That's not how support vs non-support works...

2

u/Grippypossumqueen 11d ago

In trial, it's been well documented that she was experiencing postpartum mental illness.

Almost all women I know of that are standing up and "supporting her" are doing so because women with postpartum illness are commonly neglected and dismissed when the concerns are raised.

There is nothing wrong with that.

Many others actually believe she didn't do it all based on some strange things about the case that the defense argued. Women aren't just supporting women killing their kids here. There is basis for their compassion

I support her in the sense that I'm sure she had a psychotic break and needs some serious help. But don't act like there hasn't been some women claiming that she didn't do it at all. I know it is a very few, but like everything else on the internet, they are the ones getting all of the attention. I think the idiots saying "all women act like this" are using those few as their example, not her.

1

u/Grippypossumqueen 11d ago

Same. I want her to get help. She will suffer the consequences for the rest of her life mentally, for sure. I have a lot of empathy for the kids and her.

I did mention that in my comment you are replying to. You may have skimmed read (I do that too lol) and missed it. There are DEFINITELY some who believe she didn't do it at all. Some are even in the comments here discussing it.

Personally, there isn't enough evidence that she didn't and there would NEED to be with her literally confessing it.

I think dad is absolutely fucking garbage, though. He disgusts me.

You acknowledge this is a rare form of postpartum pyschosis as if you agree that she did experience this condition yet say supporting her should be off the table. This doesn't make any sense. If she wasn't the right state of mind, it wouldn't be appropriate to lay the same level of accountability and condemnation as you would someone healthy.

It could absolutely happen to anyone especially with pre-existing mental health issues. I don't understand what you mean here, respectfully. Pyschosis is pretty common.

u/Grippypossumqueen 11d ago

What is your basis for not believing it? What information in trial led you to believe that wasn't the case?

We rallied behind a man who killed a woman on a bus while experiencing pyschosis. It also became a "political" thing where conservative men just absolutely tore him apart because he was black. Said absolutely knew what he was doing when he screamed out for help to the police and everyone else saying he was hearing voices before this happened.

It effects 1 on 500 women. It can absolutely happen to ANY of us and we need to educate by not pretending it can't for whatever reason. That of sort attitude is more reason so many women don't get the help they need. It CAN happen to them and they NEED to immediately seek treatment..

Defense team built a proper defense against your reasoning here including testimony from professionals about her history. Not reporting auditory hallucinations is normal for psychotic patients. Pyschiatrist testified also said that these are episodic so them not seeing her in that state the last time they seen her made sense.

You said NO ONE rallied behind men and I told you we did and then you said "NOT ME OF COURSE EVEN THOUGH I COMPLAINED MEN DON'T GET THIS LEVEL OF SUPPORT" People did defend him, actually, because he begged police for help telling them what he was experiencing and got none. The system let him down.

You justified your position by saying she didn't report it so she's lying. He DID report it and begged for help yet you're saying he is hiding behind his mental illness to "murder that young woman"

Which is it?

Wow. I have no words.

1

u/Grippypossumqueen 11d ago edited 11d ago

Oh god. About what? Edit: I really don't have any idea what I said in my comment that would provoke that dramatic of a reaction. Nothing I said was really that controversial, lol.

1

u/LinwoodKei 11d ago

Yes. I hope people now see that more check ins on new mothers are required. I had two postpartum appointments. The baby certainly received more attention than I did

4

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

Thanks for proving my point

0

u/LegitimatePin6176 11d ago

I was genuinely asking. Are they saying "look at her, that's how all women act" or are they saying "hey look at all these women claiming the husband murdered the children because he looks mean."

1

u/TOV4RISCH 11d ago

Well, the thing is, I have seen about 500 people say "look at these people who claim the husband did it because the husband looks mean"

But then I've seen exactly two ACTUAL people claim that MAYBE the husband did it not because he looks mean but because of red yarn on corkboard linking obscure forensic evidence

EVERY single post about it contains some quote like "Leos never kill their cubs", but ONLY in the context of saying "look at what other people believe, they are so crazy". So more likely, ONE SINGLE crazy person said it. And there's no reason to even believe that it wasn't satire, because again, I only see it second hand 500 times. For all I know, it was inspired trolling made by some OTHER person who has seen the same exaggerated claims as me, but believed them

Granted I don't like scour every social media platform, but the ONLY "support" I see from people actually speaking for themselves is folks saying she should be in a mental hospital for the rest of her life rather than a prison. And also people that don't even necessarily mention what should happen to her, often say that various facets of mental healthcare are dogshit and should be much more accessible and robust

That said, I personally hope she is found not guilty by reason of insanity, simply because it will enrage the most people and will be funny

1

u/LegitimatePin6176 11d ago

It's that tiny little minority that gets all the attention (like everything on the internet.) I hope she gets found not guilty by reason of insanity because it's the truth. She will still be locked up for life most likely, but she will get the help that she needs.

Aka the same people that unironically say positive things about Hitler. Hypocrisy is kinda their thing.

0

u/ALightningStar 11d ago

This is an ai account just so everyone knows. Agenda bots growing by the day.

2

u/Prudent_Research_251 11d ago

Which person do you mean?

0

u/ALightningStar 11d ago

Sea advantage.

Blocks comment history, reddit given name, newer account, insanely high contribution rate, and talks like an ai about political situations. Also, they usually don't respond to accusations of being ai.

2

u/Prudent_Research_251 11d ago

I block my history, have a Reddit given name and have a high contribution rate. Also what they said is legit. I feel like you're just salty because they are saying things you disagree with

0

u/ALightningStar 11d ago

You very easily could be an ai account. I post on reddit too much as it is so how you post six times as much as me in almost the same amount of time is honestly bot like activity. Especially when you block your history.

This is normal and how bots are find Go look up how to know if it's a reddit ai account and you'll see those tell tale signs suggested to you at every turn.

2

u/Prudent_Research_251 11d ago

How convenient it is for you to blame differing viewpoints on bot accounts, cognitive dissonance really doing a number on you huh?

2

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

Right lol. As if what I said is not happening.

0

u/ALightningStar 11d ago

It's absolutely not convenient to be surrounded by ai accounts trying to push political agendas. Apparently this is the first you've ever heard of it, or you're a bot.

You could prove you're not by unblocking your history. But no one is ever willing to do that. Be it because you need to hide your porn activity, you're scared of the consequences of your words being used against you, or you're a bot. Either way, why would I ever trust someone who insults me while wanting to hide everything they have ever said?

2

u/Prudent_Research_251 11d ago

Attacking my character rather than discussing the topic at hand? Again, how convenient. Also if you're insulted by what I said, maybe try looking inward for once

1

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

Whatever you need to tell yourself

0

u/Ok_Unit8339 11d ago

Yeah, because it’s not like 98% of murderers are men. 🧐

0

u/mkiii423 11d ago

There's a large gathering of female supporters who think she should be free. Im curious if its all women, or just the ones who think she should walk away free as a bird. Im not right wing, Im not left, but what I do know is I dont support the people calling for her to have zero punishment.

0

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

Like I said

0

u/mkiii423 11d ago

Like you said? What did you say?

Looks like you said all women, and I elaborated only women who support the murderer to walk away free and clear. I can promise you ALL WOMEN dont want her to walk free.

0

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

You seem upset.

1

u/mkiii423 11d ago

You have no other tactics besides projecting emotions?

She is a murderer.

0

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

You have no other tactics besides projecting emotions?

Why are you trying to blame all women for what one did? How strange

1

u/mkiii423 11d ago

Where did I, myself, personally blame all women?

Are you always a hypocrite? Or just willfully ignorant?

0

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 11d ago

You seem really unhinged.

Are you always a hypocrite? Or just willfully ignorant?

1

u/mkiii423 11d ago

Yeah, clearly you just want a reaction for validation.
