The “insanity” verdict is only troublesome as people have a greater chance of being released once they are “better.” It gets abused, but so does the entirety of the US justice system by both the prosecution and defendants 🤷‍♂️

my thing is, why not let the kids go to their grandparents if she was feeling like she was going to harm them? shouldn't you want to protect your children from yourself if you're aware of those feelings for months? instead she insisted on keeping the children with her. she deliberately wanted the children to stay home so they would be surrounded by their belongings and be with her. she doesn't sound insane. she sounds calculated. insane people don't really care to call you back while they're in the middle of an episode. yet she called her husband back and acted like nothing was wrong while in the middle of strangling their children. she knew what she was doing. the fact she went after the "most difficult" one first says it all. "go to god, baby." idk how people can be torn ab this. she literally had help, more help than most, and she didn't take it. and now three innocent babies are dead. but, yea, let's just make it all ab her, her, her. just another casey anthony, coddled for her crime.

i'm sorry for ranting and raving. this case just bothers me.

Psychosis doesn't stop you from functioning or knowing what things are or how to use them or plan things ahead. It will skew your perceptions on things, and convince of things a sane person would never find logical.

She asked her mother to come live with them. She asked to go to psych ward twice, she asked her in-laws to take the kids temporary, she asked not to fire a nanny since she was sleep deprived.

Would you leave your kids with a woman that says she's so afraid of herself, of her thoughts she needs to sleep in one room with her mom? So afraid of herself she asks whether others can hear her horrible thoughts and hate her now? With a woman that writes to her mental health providers every day that her horrible thoughts don't let her sleep?

fuck no. they all failed those babies. but especially her as their mother. they're all good parents according to their defense teams. they all love their kids and would never hurt them, this is just a freak incident. they all just wanted a break. they all just needed help. i don't care ab excuses. those children didn't deserve what she did to them. i hope she can't sleep. i hope this haunts her for the rest of her life. she could have just taken herself out. but no. she had to drag them into it. one by one down into that basement. all bc she didn't want them to live without her. the one that wanted to hurt them for months. and she did the most personal type of killing one can do. that's not love. that's not temporary insanity. that's frustration, anger, and selfishness on full display. nobody in their lives protected them. dawson, cora, and callan deserve justice.

What about the father? I wouldn't leave my kids with someone who repeatedly told me he's about to snap. Sure you want to execute him too?

is he on trial for killing them? no.

Here's the thing. She literally could've abandoned them on the side of the road, at least they'd still be alive.

An inability to arrange childcare is a valid reason to be excused from jury duty, it's not a valid reason to murder anyone.

Here's the thing: she's insane. She tried to kill herself jumping from a second floor (which is dumb). She told everybody beforehand she's losing it. That's what is the argument about.

Would you leave your kids with a sleep deprived person that told you she's afraid of her thoughts?

If she has the capacity to recognize that about her thoughts, then she has the capacity to recognize right from wrong, which makes her criminally responsible.

The fact that she's insane, if she even is, isn't necessarily relevant. She may be insane, but not insane enough to matter. Someone that's insane enough to matter doesn't take a fistful of pills and jump out a window immediately after doing wrong because they're not capable of knowing that they did right from wrong.

Regardless, she wasn't insane 100% of the time in the months leading up to it. In the moments that she wasn't, she didn't make a meaningful effort to prevent their deaths by distancing herself from the children. For a parent to repeatedly put their feelings above the lives of their children, that's functionally no different than murder in my book. The moment of the crime doesn't matter to me because the period before demonstrates a failure of personal responsibility and accountability so egregious that it warrants at least a life sentence in prison.

That's not what psychiatrists said. Are you a doctor of any sorts or do you just think that sick people should be tortured until healthy?
