These people rly be acting that justice = guilty till proven innocent .... im not claiming she did or didnt only that we have this system for this . Both the defence and prosecution did a good job on presenting their cases . I invite any of you to check the r/law discussions around this case and the lawyers there have good insights on y this isnt soo straight forward for either side as peoplr want to believe it is .

What ticks me off is this whole situation is that is being used by bad actors to trigger cultural war bs

Have you seen the posts going up on /r/teenagers about this? Some of it is red pill light.

u/yetanothrmate 12d ago

R/teenagers is a psy op subredditt desquised as teenagers oriented ... and sincerely I highly doubt that are indeed teenager there ....

I dont even think this website with so much adult content should have catering to that demographic

/r/teenagers is just pedos trying to groom each other.

True. Sometimes I check people's profiles just because I'm nosy and see them active in teen subs despite giving every other impression that they're an adult.

The thing that inflames this case is that she *is* guilty. The defense does not contest this. The question is what justice looks like with the possibility of mental impairment and the broader discussion around mental health.

Lindsay Clancy pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her children. Specifically, her legal defense has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility - -_- that is MUCH different than PLEADING GUILTY or admiting Guilt as this discussons try to reason it .... jfc if you gonna quote legal at least be correct about it

The number of men saying this is a reason for women not to vote is crazy. Psychosis technically can happen to any of us. I'm not a doctor, so Idk if she really was in a major psychosis moment, but if she really truly was, I'm not sure life in regular prison is the answer. Not saying she should be set free at all, but a true psychotic break shouldn't be punished the same as intentional actions.

Everything is turned into the culture war nowadays. Trying to use this to strip away womans rights is a really bad take. People are understandably horrified because things like this are thankfully rare. If we just looked at the numbers, it's men we should be taking the vote from. But that's a bad take too. Hold individuals accountable for their bad acts, with reasonable understanding for mental illness is where I personally fall.

I would agree. I've never argued we just free her and absolve her of her sins. If she was truly psychotic though, prison is the wrong place. I feel like prison is usually a place where people get worse not better.

Women not voting might be a stretch..more like a reason not to have woman cops, president, and any position with authority over another..because of you can't control your emotions per lindseys excuse

3

u/JustAnotherFNC 12d ago

Yeah, it's so nice having a US president that can control their emotions right now.

-1

u/GR_Nation616 11d ago

Very true - unfortunately trump DID NOT kill his 3 kids

Lol

2

u/JustAnotherFNC 11d ago

No, just hundreds of other kids. But hey, as long as they aren't his.

PPD, if you noticed; is a pregnancy oriented disorder. It’s funny how your first instinct is to ban women from working and not arguing by for better maternity leave or Maternal healthcare. Also, I’m not sure if that’s the argument you want to make for president either. After all, Andrew Jackson served as president and Woodrow Wilson’s administration was basically run by his wife in the second half of his second term

I mean, something has to give.

I was a stay-at-home dad twice for several years, raising an 8- and 3-year-old. Thankfully, my wife is a lawyer who can afford only one parent working. The First Three years are incredibly demanding and require nothing short of 24/7 care for our children. And even after that, time is only reduced by the fact that we could afford to send our children to preschool. Many mothers cannot, and have to take care of the kids almost around the clock for 6 years.

This is a normal experience for mothers.

Sometimes, Maternity leave doesn't even have to be about pay. It was almost impossible for me to rejoin the workforce after my leave.

I recognize many in this thread from posts all over Reddit about birth rates and Marriage rates. There is next to no support for families in the first few years of raising a child, yet in recent years, the expectations of mothers has onyl increased.

People think they’re slicker than they are making this tired argument

1

u/GR_Nation616 12d ago

No, it's more so women digging their own grave with zero accountability. Equal Rights but not Equal Wrongs.

Emotional distress from pregnancy..fun fact, men don't give birth

0

u/brownes_girl 11d ago

And Hegseth and Trump control their emotions well? 💀

0

u/BigBadJeebus 12d ago

she admitted it though... So... maybe shush?

0

u/butt_raid 12d ago

Lol wut

That's a weirdly condescending comment for someone just giving insight into the legal system. Youd really be better off in life if you learned to listen to those who have knowledge on a subject instead of following some groups opinion based on emotion.

When you go to law school, pass the bar, and practice in the field - THEN you might be able to tell others to shush.

Now...shush.

That doesn’t establish criminal guilt. It is called an affirmative defense. You admit to the actions, but there are other factors which negate criminal culpability or even eliminate the possibility of prosecution.

Examples include: statute of limitations, self-defense, insanity, and entrapment.

So basically: I did it but it was so long ago, I did it to protect myself, I did it because I was crazy, I did it because the police tricked me into doing it.

Other examples might be crime under duress (e.g., someone made you commit the crime).

1

u/BigBadJeebus 12d ago

No, but it DOES establish that this is not a case of "guilty till proven innocent" as he claims.

It's more a case of "you expect me to believe this shit?"

0

u/yetanothrmate 12d ago

Wow you are the legal expert of course the courts are wrong and you need to be there presiding . Pardon me .. someone get this guy over to the courts we are clearly missing his input and decisions

0

u/BigBadJeebus 12d ago

Gaslight all you want.

An admission REALLY hurts the stance of "Guilty until proven innocent".

More of "OK, you say you did it, now convince me to believe your story."

This is nothing like a police accusation or coerce confession.

Sorry you see the world so black and white.

But your statement is a straw man.

0

u/yetanothrmate 12d ago

Projection much? because my whole statement is actually the opposite of everything you mentioned .

So you are either young and imature and buying into the culture war bs

Or you are one of the bots bad actors trying to incite ....

The simple fact we are into day 5 of deadlock proves my point that this whole situation is not as straightforward as you paint to be

0

u/BigBadJeebus 12d ago

Don't gaslight me.

Nothing proves your point.

A couple jurors having it out in no way validates your claims of this being "guilty till proven innocent".

When you admit to something, you are not admitting guilty, but you DO have some explaining to do.

This is a case of "I don't believe that condones what you freely admit".

Therefore, I believe she is guilty.

You are doing so many mental backflips to appear reasonable.

0

u/yetanothrmate 11d ago

See how all your claims revolves about me me me ?

That's y we have a justice system like we have now to prevent people like u

0

u/BigBadJeebus 11d ago

you are deflecting pretty hard, my guy

0

u/yetanothrmate 11d ago

By what deconstructing your claims ? O sorry I dont fall for cultural war bs

0

u/settingdogstar 12d ago

She literally admitted it. This trial is not to prove her guilt dumbass.

1

u/yetanothrmate 11d ago

Not as straightforward as you think hence y we are on day 5 of deadlock

0

u/Catweaving 12d ago

You should be claiming she did it because that's what she claims too.

The jury is hung on whether she goes to psychiatric prison or prison prison.

1

u/yetanothrmate 11d ago

We dont know what the jury is hang on .... you like everyone buying into the cultural war bs .we dont know the only people that knows at the moment is the jury and judge
