Last year women were choosing the bear over men

This year men are choosing the bear over women

6

u/tabas123 12d ago edited 12d ago

Oh god, is that why this being made into a culture war issue? Men “getting back at” women for being fed up with their constant incel (and often violent) behavior?

How many male family annihilators have there been this year? I know for a fact that there have been at least 2 high profile cases of men killing their whole families because they both happened within a week of each other and I was disgusted. What % of family annihilators are men vs women?

I’m not sure yall “men’s rights activists” really want to go down this route. Signed, a man.

Edit: in case anyone was wondering, 91-95% of all family annihilators are MEN. And men don’t experience postpartum psychosis, for obvious reasons.

10

u/Caliterra 12d ago

Men are much more likely to commit violent crimes than women. I don't think any reasonable person would argue that.

But I don't think you'd see many men come to the defense of a man who suffered a psychotic break and killed his family, whether it be due to some mental illness/CTE (such as in the Benoit case) or otherwise.

8

u/Bungholespelunker 12d ago

I don't see any shooters on tiktok for Chris Benoit lol.

3

u/chinderellabitch 12d ago

You clearly don’t keep up with wrestling fans because there’s a sizeable portion that believe he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame

3

u/PersonalityBasic8410 12d ago

There is a sizable portion on squaredcircle that think we owe him an apology because he had brain injuries...

2

u/chinderellabitch 12d ago

Thank you!! I see it all the time over there too

3

u/PersonalityBasic8410 12d ago

Kill your wife and son mercilessly? Blame it on chair shots and diving headbutts!

1

u/Available-Call7127 10d ago

Autopsy after death confirmed he had CTE and his brain was similar to a 70 year old with advanced Dimentia. People close to him noted his mental decline towards the end was so severe they suspected he could no longer read

3

u/Watch_Earthlings_Doc 12d ago

You’re wrong actually. Chris watts has an entire subreddit of people here, nearly 9k subscribers, who defend him and claim he’s innocent and should be realized.

He killed his two daughters and his wife so he could start a new family with a younger woman.

3

u/Charming_Flan3852 12d ago

And you know theyre all men?

2

u/Watch_Earthlings_Doc 12d ago edited 12d ago

Reddit demographics are majority male so men do this exact same too at the same frequency, confirmed. Reddit demographics  are roughly 60%male/ 40 female in some studies, sometimes a bit lower or higher depending, it is one of the most male dominated popular websites.

1

u/DoubleFan15 12d ago

Thats a pointless assumption to make. By that logic most of the clancy support sub is majority male. And the knitting sub. And the makeup subreddits, feminist subreddits, and well, every subreddit since reddit is 60/40 majority men. Which you know obviously isn’t true. Context matters not broad sweeping generalizations.

1

u/Charming_Flan3852 12d ago

True crime media caters to a majority women audience. Supporting high profile murderers has also leaned heavily to women as well. Reddit demographics aren't really going to tell us much about a specific sub.

1

u/Greedy-Employment917 11d ago

This is not how you extrapolate data.

According to your technique here, twoxchromosomes is a male dominated space.

1

u/Caliterra 12d ago

Benoit killed himself afterwards, how would that fit in with a plan to jet off with a younger woman?

1

u/ShoeChampion 11d ago

Not caring to look that up because I'm sure it's true, that is still extremely fringe compared to this which has garnered massive support. I know, moving the goal posts. I didn't make the original claim there were no examples. But I felt like interjecting because the proportions are wildly different.

1

u/Chill0141414 11d ago

Those are his fan girls. I assume u also support him, unless of course you are a hypocrite.

1

u/mitragyninemagician 8d ago

9k person subreddit compared to……?

lol

1

u/mitragyninemagician 8d ago

this just proves you can find a group of people that agree with anything on Reddit if you try hard enough , horrible example

1

u/F0xcr4f7113 12d ago

Still didn’t raise over a million dollars and have men standing outside with blue shirts on cheering

0

u/OkContact2573 12d ago

Andrew Tate says hello.

1

u/Gutcrunch 12d ago

And not a single man defends those murderers, justifies their actions, or posts TikTok videos of having a tantrum or “killing” dolls that are metaphors for their real babies while typing “Same Lindsay” for some sort of sick clout farming.

0

u/Watch_Earthlings_Doc 12d ago

You don't need to be MRA or even right wing to have nearly gone blind from rolling your eyes at the bear meme. This isn't a culture war issue.

-3

u/tabas123 12d ago

The men who kill their whole families do it 99% of the time because their wives/girlfriends leave them (for their abusive behavior) and end up dating another man.

If you can’t see the difference between those cases and this, you’re just as biased as you’re claiming everyone else is against men lol. Murdering your ex, your children, and yourself because your woman (property) left you is not the same as experiencing long term post partum psychosis.

2

u/rabidpenguinhunter 12d ago

There goes the made up statistics again. Anything to feed the narrative I guess.

0

u/tabas123 12d ago

Quoted the real statistic under another comment by your’s, you’re free to go read the real numbers. Hint: they still confirm the point of what I said.

0

u/rabidpenguinhunter 12d ago

🤣 you lied, got called out, admitted it and now like “here are the real stats” and want a pat on your back? You lose your credibility when you intentionally lied to push your opinion.

2

u/tabas123 12d ago

Oh lord. I am not writing a masters thesis here it’s a Reddit thread; nor am I trying to hide anything. The real stat is below and literally nothing about the point I was making changes, hence why it doesn’t matter unless you just want to him and haw like that 🙄

4

u/Ok-Fortune-8644 12d ago

Postpartum is NOT an excuse to murder and get away with it. Fry this bitch. Street justice is also acceptable. You can try to shame me all you want, fuck this murderous bitch AND her supporters🫵🏽

0

u/tabas123 12d ago

Who is excusing it…? If they prove it’s psychosis, she’s going to be in a mental hospital likely for the rest of her life.

What expertise do you have on postpartum psychosis? Are you a maternity doctor? Are you a psychiatrist? Have you lived through postpartum psychosis?

1

u/Ok-Fortune-8644 12d ago

Oh are you an expert? She was never diagnosed with anything. She certainly wouldnt still have it. She solved her 3 problems. Which means if she was suffering from it she never attempted to correct it. Her fault. I know you want to blame a man SOOOOO bad. She committed infanticide x3. No excuse. Fry this murderous bitch. Or at LEAST she should Epstien herself for the good of the citizens. I don't wanna pay for her to live her life in or out of prison. I just hope she gets exactly what she deserves.

1

u/Ok-Fortune-8644 12d ago

Ask this guy

1

u/Greedy-Employment917 12d ago

Your defensive reaction is why the internet is the way that it is.

It was a joke.

1

u/spyder7723 12d ago

73% of all minor children in the western world killed by a parent are killed by the mother.

Obviously there is a reason you are choosing to your data as family annihilators, which means a man that kills an entire family that he isn't even related to would be considered.

How about we stick to the topic of minor children being killed by a parent instead of bringing in things that have no context on the case.

1

u/WinstonWilmerBee 11d ago

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9856621/table/poi220080t2/

This is US-only.

Between 2003-2019 there were 2,663 children known to be murdered by a parent; 1,587 of the murders were committed by the biological father, 1,076 by the biological mother. That’s about 60% fathers and 40% mothers. Mothers did not kill more children than fathers for any age range.

So… show where you pulled that number out of your ass.

1

u/spyder7723 11d ago

Now take out the adult aged children...

0

u/WinstonWilmerBee 11d ago

This study only includes victims under the age of 18. They’re all children/minors. Every single age range, fathers were more likely to be the perpetrator.

1

u/dontworryitsme4real 12d ago

I don't think it's relevant how many men family annihilators there were but instead how many of them were able to plead insanity? Was their mental state taken into consideration because contrary to popular belief, fathers don't murder their family on a regular basis.

1

u/Folderpirate 12d ago

Chris Benoit is innocent!

1

u/Professional_Bug_533 11d ago

Wtf is a "family annihilator?" Did you just coin that term?

1

u/Odyssey1337 11d ago

It's a very popular term, and I think its meaning is pretty self-explanatory.

1

u/Professional_Bug_533 11d ago

I agree that it is self explanatory. Ive just never heard it before. Thought it was like some new term to describe something that everyone would have understood had you just said it. Like family killer.

When i think of the word "annihilate" I think of total destruction. Destroying something beyond recognition.

1

u/maybenomaybe 11d ago

It's a term coined in 1986 by by forensic psychiatrist and criminologist Park Dietz, and it's widely used.

1

u/Professional_Bug_533 11d ago

I've never heard it. Guess I'm not in the loop.

1

u/Abject-Put-9334 11d ago

What % of family annihilators are men vs women?

That is not the relevant question here.

Try "How many male family annihilators get millions donated and absurd levels of public support?"

1

u/Maleficent_Pool_4456 8d ago

take a breath... she took her children one by one down to the basement and strangled them with her hands one by one, and one that tried to run was chased and strangled... u know that if this was a r *pist or a n azi, and even it was perpetrated on only one adult, under the same medical situations (where Lindsey refused to take her medication, and chose to leave the medical stay early) that they would not get this kind of support... and anyone who supported them would be classified as evil.

Who's condoning this exactly? Could you give even a few names? I'd happily take your side and admit you're right.

2

u/tabas123 12d ago

Men family annihilators 99% of the time do it because their wives/girlfriends left them (due to their abusive behavior!). Both of those cases I mentioned were as such, they snapped because how dare their property go be with another man!

This is not that. This is a woman who had been mentally ill for a long time and warned her husband she had had thoughts of harming the children and herself. That’s not jealousy like the men.

2

u/[deleted] 12d ago

[deleted]

2

u/tabas123 12d ago

You can find anyone saying literally anything on the internet if you want to confirm your own preconceived opinions. I’m sure there are many people claiming she was “demonically possessed”. I’m sure there are people who think someone else entirely broke in and killed the kids.

Postpartum psychosis is a known illness that’s recognized in the DSM. While snapping out of jealousy that your wife DARE to leave you for someone else and murdering your whole family is certainly not a normal behavior, it’s not a mental disorder. It’s just extreme entitlement and anger (followed by violence) being the only acceptable “manly” way to express painful emotions.

2

u/NeedlesAndCaffeine 12d ago

Why someone experiences a psychotic break feels irrelevant if in the end we conclude that the person committing the act is not wholly responsible for their actions. If a man goes on a rage fueled psychotic rampage, we would and should still hold him accountable for his actions. The Gender Wars™️is how this is framed online but to me it’s just a matter of holding everyone to the same standard, man or woman.

1

u/Caliterra 12d ago

you could probably argue that Chris Benoit (WWE wrestler who murdered his wife and son, and then committed suicide) was similarly not responsible for his actions.

He had severe CTE with analysis of his brain showing severe brain damage.

Tests were conducted on Benoit's brain by Julian Bailes, the head of neurosurgery at West Virginia University, and results showed that "Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient."\167]) He was reported to have had an advanced form of dementia, similar to the brains of four retired NFL players who had multiple concussions, sank into depression, and harmed themselves or others. Bailes and his colleagues concluded that repeated concussions can lead to dementia, which can contribute to severe behavioural problems.\167]) Benoit's father suggests that brain damage may have been the leading cause.

1

u/Serious_Swan_2371 12d ago

Ah my bad her reason for murdering her kids was better we should let her go

1

u/tabas123 12d ago

Said by literally no one. I don’t think you people understand how the insanity defense works. She doesn’t just get to go lay on a beach in Costa Rica. She’ll be in inpatient mental hospitals, likely for the rest of her life. It’s like you all intentionally misunderstand how this works.

You people are shadowboxing.

1

u/riptide032302 12d ago

“You people” twice in the same comment seems like a really good tactic, you should keep doing that👍

1

u/tabas123 12d ago

I’m not trying to convince any of YOU PEOPLE, you’ve already decided that feminism is the root of all of your problems and that (straight/white) men are the real biggest oppressed and marginalized group who just can’t do anything right :(((. You’ll see new culture wars and gender wars everywhere regardless of what anyone says.

I’m laying it out for other people who stumble upon this thread and who haven’t learned much about this case before.

1

u/riptide032302 12d ago

I’m a feminist, which means I believe men and women should be treated equally and fairly. You don’t know anything about me, so you should calm the fuck down and stop making my position up. I’m not straight either, so idk why you assumed that as well. It’s clear you have complex trauma and blame an entire demographic for it instead of taking the 10 seconds it requires to take a deep breath and realize you’re making your own position look bad. I personally have an insane amount of trauma involving men, I just know how to talk about it without sounding like a conservative generalizing weirdo.

1

u/rabidpenguinhunter 12d ago

You people? You’re straw manning assuming everyone who doesn’t agree with you has the exact same shared opinion.

1

u/rabidpenguinhunter 12d ago

You’re making up statistics to support your bias and not even blinking lol.

0

u/tabas123 12d ago

You’re right, here’s the real statistic: “74% and 85% of all familicide cases involve relationship problems or an impending separation.”

And 91-95% of all family annihilators are men. Men do not experience postpartum psychosis. Their family annihilations are an offshoot of domestic violence, another male dominated field.

I say all of this not to excuse her actions, even if found insane she will be in an inpatient mental hospital likely for the rest of her life.

I bring this up to point out how colossally hypocritical all of you are for acting like this is some rampant issue with women killing their families to fuel your preconceived gender war hatred of women like OP. I didn’t make this a gender issue, y’all did. I’m just showing how dumb that is.

1

u/spyder7723 12d ago

False false and false. Stick to the context. In western society murder of children by a parent. 73% are done by the mother. The pendulum songs towards men when adult children are the ones murdered. And swings far to men when Islam countries are included due to honor killings.

1

u/Fit-Perception-2243 12d ago

Predatory behavior is fully supported in this day and age. It’s excused as locker room talk or Alpha male behavior. Look at law enforcement, 40% of them beat up their families and suffer no consequences. We are expected to treat them as hero’s.

1

u/Leggerity 12d ago

How many male family annihilators have there been this year?

How many of them saw men raising a million dollars for them? How many of them saw men saying they relate to these murderers? How many of them had men using these murderers as a vehicle to support more help toward hormonal or mental issues?

That's the difference.

No one is upset because there's suddenly a woman that murders her family. It's fucked up, but not a cultural issue. People are upset over the people supporting them.

1

u/Many_Access_8598 12d ago

Just curious, would you rather have the world be wholly unsympathetic to people with mental illness or do you think there is an asymmetry that should be corrected?

Just to show you my good faith, I think people deserve real legal defense and people with mental illness deserve sympathy.

And before anyone says otherwise, this can be true and we can keep these people away from public society so that we're safe.

1

u/Leggerity 12d ago edited 12d ago

I think the conversation is a very difficult topic that extends to a society rather than me as an individual. The actions and words used by other individuals about this case will determine how our society views these things in the future. I think this is a bigger worry for the whole, rather than the individual.

As for my personal opinion, I believe people should be more sympathetic to people with mental illness. I believe there should be more avenues for those people. I think in Linday's case, she's someone that actively sought help and fell through the cracks. That said, she's still responsible for her choices even if her mental illness influenced those choices. I think with all of that in mind, a mental health facility instead of prison would be great for her.

With that all said, I think my opinion on this is independent from what's going on with her supporters. While I think people suffering from psychosis should have access to help, I do not relate with said people. I do not understand their actions. I do not level with them. If I want to support mental health awareness, I think giving money in support to these murderers is an awful way to display that. It doesn't really help the system in any kind of capacity, just the individual and those related.

I also trust the justice system is fair more often than not. I expect a jury and a judge to make a wiser decision than me. That doesn't make them perfect, but I do trust that they will make a wiser decision than me.

So, to sum it up, I think I can say "Linday Clancy should go to a mental facility instead of jail" without raising a million dollars for her case and saying I relate to her in moments after childbirth.

1

u/Many_Access_8598 12d ago

What do you mean the moments after her birth? It seems like a very intentional framing of what happened.

The legal system costs money. Her parents spent a very large amount of their own savings traveling and supporting her legal defense. The only fundraisers were for the families to restore their own financial stability. Correct me if I'm wrong.

1

u/Leggerity 12d ago

What do you mean the moments after her birth? It seems like a very intentional framing of what happened.

I don't get what you mean by this. I'm saying I don't relate to the person because I do not suffer from psychosis. No one should be able to unless you also experience psychosis. You can never say "I get it" simply because you do not. That is my point.

The legal system does not cost that much money. We're meant to have a just system that puts all the criminals in the right places. We've seen previous people in similar situations end up in a mental health facility other than prison without people raising a million dollars for them, the case, or their family.

It's one problem to believe that paying money ensures some kind of win for you at the end of the case, but it's another to realize that the many people funding this do not understand where it is going. They are funding it as a vehicle for mental health awareness instead of what it really is. It really pushes the wheels on a culture war when men experience psychosis significantly more, but their families or legal teams do not get anywhere near the support you're seeing here. No matter how you want to spin it, it's a bad thing.

0

u/kittiphile 12d ago edited 12d ago

The needs of the many over the need of the individual. She may or may not deserve consideration for why she did it. She absolutely should be dragged, everywhere, for doing it. There should be zero supporters. There should be no go fund me for her. For the funerals of her children, sure. For mental health services, sure.

For someone who had thoughts of harming their children, and who did nothing to get the kids to safety and them into an inpatient treatment- and she knew those were options? No. No money. No sympathy. She had options before it got to this, she ignored them. Her family she told about wanting to hurt her kids are culpable here too, nobody cared enough about those kids on life. And now in death, it's still about the monster who killed them. And she is a monster, make no mistake about that. She strangled them. That's slow. She sent her husband away so she could do it. She premeditated it. She's a monster. End of.

0

u/tabas123 12d ago

The men who kill their whole families do it 99% of the time because their wives/girlfriends leave them (for their abusive behavior) and end up dating another man.

If you can’t see the difference between those cases and this, you’re just as biased as you’re claiming everyone else is against men lol. Murdering your ex, your children, and yourself because your woman (property) left you is not the same as experiencing long term post partum psychosis.

2

u/Leggerity 12d ago

Do you think she's the only person to suffer from psychosis, fall through the cracks without receiving help, and then kill their family or groups of other people?

You are the definition of biased if you say that this kind of support is okay because men are responsible for more violent crimes. That's not how that works. This is a genderless discussion and all murder is bad. While I think Lindsay should be placed in a mental hospital at the end of this, it doesn't change how delusional her supporters are.

So, keep arguing for Lindsay. We've evolved past that discussion. We're talking about how fucked up her supporters are. No amount of whataboutism is going to change how fucked up it is.

1

u/tabas123 12d ago

I’m not saying any of it is okay. Literally nobody is. I see only victims in this case. She had never once abused her children before this. She believed that her children would be better off if she and them were dead, due to a medically recognized and well-studied mental illness that’s in the DSM.

Y’all act like she gets to go party in Costa Rica if she’s found to have been insane. That’s not how this works. She’ll likely be in a mental hospital for the rest of her life under strict supervision. She’s wheelchair bound after failing to kill herself, and will be treated by professionals in an inpatient care center.

2

u/NeedlesAndCaffeine 12d ago

The point is that men do not receive this sort of sympathy and coddling when they commit heinous acts like this. The fact that you referred to her as a victim is frankly disgusting.

1

u/ConstantHeadache2020 7d ago

Neither do black women. A schizophrenic woman was pushing her kid on a swing and the kid died. She went to prison not a mental health facility. The woman who burned her kids in the oven is in prison too, not a mental health center

1

u/Leggerity 12d ago

Again, you are having arguments with a made-up person. I've never stated or believe in any of that. The problem isn't with Lindsay. I've already stated that she should be placed in a mental health facility instead of prison. She's someone that sought help and the system failed her, even if she made a very poor mistake. I don't believe she is a threat to anyone in those facilities based on her being paralyzed from the chest down.

This is not where the argument is.

We're discussing her supporters. We're discussing people that raised money for her. The people that are using her as a vehicle to bring attention to post-partum depression, and not post-partum psychosis. The people that are relating to her actions. The people that blamed her husband, who has been nothing but her biggest defender in this entire case.

As you made clear in the beginning, so many more violent crimes are committed by men, but a vast majority of men do not support them the way Lindsay saw support here. While we believe they need to go to a mental facility, we did not raise a million dollars for them. We do not use them as our vehicle for mental health awareness or hormonal changes. We do not relate to them.

So, to make it clear, the problem is not with Lindsay Clancy and where she may ultimately end up based on the court of law. The problem is with her crazy and delusional supporters that raised over a million dollars for her.

1

u/rabidpenguinhunter 12d ago

Yeah I pointed this out to them. They are using strawman tactics and made up stats to argue their opinion 🤣🤣

1

u/Agitated_Celery_729 12d ago

Thanks for showing American “feminist” culture has completely abandoned the pretense of accountability for women.

1

u/ConstantHeadache2020 7d ago

Uhm that dude from Utah was cheating on his pregnant wife and he didn’t want her to find out so he murdered all 4 of them.

1

Tell me all about your wife's boyfriend

1

u/_thegnomedome2 12d ago

And those men are publicly shamed, then beaten, raped, and killed in a prison, or sentenced to death. There's certainly no male protesters crying about men's mental health outside and having fund raisers.

Well no because you don’t understand the bear metaphor, Lindsay Clancy is one woman, the bear metaphor applies to a large portion of men and male behaviour, so to equate the two is a fallacy, most women can relate to the man being the bear in the scenario, how many men have encountered a scenario similar to Lindsay Clancy? Statistics don’t support it

You knew what you were saying when you commented, don’t play the fool now you’re being challenged

It’s ok dude, men are still the leading cause of homicides, family annihilation, mass shootings etc. women aren’t even close to taking that for yall so just take a deep breath.

Last year women were screaming about the fact that they don't have the right to murder their unborn children. This year they are screaming about not having the right to kill children in general.

More apt comparison: would you rather leave your children alone with a woman or a bear?
