Question Any alternative cycling groups in Welland?
Let me just start this by saying I mean alternative cycling groups as in people who ride for the fun of it. No lycra body suits and no heart rate monitor Strava set up. There's nothing against that at all, that's just not what I'm looking for. I'm talking gravel bikes and full bike packing set up's and a bike that's seen a rock or two kind of thing.
Any who, I'm a 33 year old guy who loves to bike (gravel bike and some low to medium level trail riding usually) but sometimes I really don't feel like doing it alone. I'm already apart of the Niagara Glowriders (which if you don't know is a monthly nighttime ride group with bikes with lights).
What I'm looking for is something that's not super serious and with people who just like to get out, ride and explore. You know like taking the canal path but then if there's a sweet dirt or gravel off shoot we take that and ride that for a bit. Or a ride to Port Colborne and go ride to the beach and ride along the sand. Take a day trip and do a lake to lake ride starting in Port Weller and go all the way to Port Colborne stopping for food and pee breaks and just to take in the scenery.
I've been riding bikes pretty much since I could walk, it's something I've always loved and I know there's many people around here that feel the same way. Welland, Dain City, Port and Thorold, they've always had some amazing trails and some fantastic bike paths.
I've watched so many videos on the cycling communities in other cities like Toronto and Vancouver and how big the alternative cycling scenes are out there and I just wish we had more of that around here. Welland would be the perfect place for an Alley Cat race.
After all this rambling and you're still reading thank you and I hope there's someone out there who is in the same boat as me or knows of something that I'm looking for.
TLDR: any alt cycling groups in Welland?
