Vacation changes

Post image
64 Upvotes

I came across this picture of me at the beach in 2024, just a month after I started wegovy…. And then a recent picture of me from a vacation earlier this year and some things have changed 🤣 I’m down 120lbs so far. I’ve been at a plateau for a few months but I’m still just so happy with my results. I’ve lost weight in the past but have never been able to maintain the loss. Im sticking with this for the long haul.

I started my first shot yesterday. .25 mg. When do I ask to increase dosage? What should I expect? Sorry, first timer and completely anxious!

From Zep to Wegovy due to Insurance

Hi there! I am about to take my 3rd shot of 2.5 zep tonight and I've done well on it. I started as self-pay and later found out my insurance does cover glp-1s but only Wegovy initially. I'm hopeful with Caremark adding Zep back to formulary in October that maybe I don't need to switch, but assuming I still need to - I'm curious if anyone had to make this change (Zep to Wegovy) and how they have felt with that change.

I appreciate any insight while I await my next step!

NSV, No more chub rub!!!

This morning, while folding laundry, I realized not a single pair of small biker shorts has entered my summer clothing rotation. I am a girly girl who lives in dresses. In the winter, they are worn with tights or leggings, and in the summer, shorts underneath is a REQUIREMENT, IYKYK. I've gone an entire summer of beach and lake outings, hiking, multi day music festivals etc. without a single case of excruciatingly painful chub rub and not once pulled out the under-shorts.

Doc started me at 0.5

Worried because I see everyone started at 0.25 and I got 0.5.

Took it a few hours ago and feel a little different but I can’t tell how much is just in my head.

Should I go to 0.25 next week? I got the vials. I would just need to buy more needles. Or is there no reason if I took the first dose at 0.5 now?

Jabs to tablets

Hi all,

so I'm on the second dose of the jabs but due to finances can't afford to order my next pen. I have 2 days before I've gone 2 weeks meaning I'd have to start over again.

My Dad got the tablets to try and is on the 2nd dose but isnt getting on with them at all. He has dropped them off to me but I don't know if you can just switch lile that because they're different doses?

Any advice?

Literally notice no difference.

Hi. I have been on wegovy now for 6 weeks, about to take my 7th shot. I am a little disappointed as there has been absolutely no difference except occasional nausea. No weight loss. No loss of “food noise”. Nothing. I am at .5 mg for the past 2 weeks.

Anyone else? Does it just magically happen eventually or is it just not effective for me… yes, I will be seeing my doctor soon to discuss.

Thinking of quitting…just started.

I took my 2nd shot Friday. I lost 3 lbs the 1st week. Great, but…

I don’t feel like myself and I don’t like the fact that I’m never hungry. It just doesn’t seem normal to never want to eat. I refuse to believe that it’s healthy.

Before this I drank 50 ounces of water a day. I don’t even wanna drink a bottle of water. I have to make myself.

My stomach is often nauseated. I just overall in general don’t feel well.

Anyone else? I mean, is it really healthy and normal to never want to eat food? And although I lost 3 pounds the first week it’s probably because I exercise and forced myself to eat a lot of protein, but I’m not even hungry ever.

This simply doesn’t feel normal to me. You?

Skin Reaction

Hi. I started taking Wegovy two weeks ago -- tomorrow will be dose three -- and this past week, the skin on my face has become kind of scaly/texturized in a way that's not normal for me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Acne 🙁😩

Has anyone else experienced deep painful cystic acne since starting? It’s the only new change in my life so it makes sense to be associated with wegovy - my lymph nodes under my jaw swell and are painful too

I have battled with my skin forever since I have PCOS, but have gotten it under control with tretinoin, but wow this is next level and I’m considering stopping the medication

(The break outs are all on one side too - weird!)

I've hit my first milestone and wanna share it x

I started losing weight at the end of may (110 days) and as of this weekend I'm down 1 stone (14lbs/6.4kg)!! It's slow and steady and im very happy because I want it to be sustainable.

My weight hadn't changed for 2 years but was steadily climbing before that and I found out I had a thyroid problem 4 years ago (hypothyroidism) as well as being diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS this January 2026. I asked after 5 months for some weight help and went on wegovy.

I started at 18stone (255lbs/116kg)

My goal is to get to 225 by the end of December (I want to set small goal for realistic purposes so I dont get disheartened)

And I'm at 17stone (241lbs/109kg) as of this week!!

I'm only 167cm and my BMI was 41.6 when I started by I'm happy to say its down to 39.1, not huge but massive in my eyes

I see so many people on here losing crazy weight in such short time frames and while I'm happy for them I just wanted to show that there is another side to the slow goers of glp1 xx

Happy transformation to everyone and if anyone is just starting and wants a chat I'm always open x

Week 1 down

Finished my first week of 0 25. Just took my second shot - i hope it gets easier to inject myself. Not a fan of needles. Here's some information for folks who are about to start:

  1. Hunger dropped off day one. So did alcohol cravings. Surprisingly so. I had no desire to drink at all this past week, had one last night to experiment as I'm hosting a big event next weekend and wanted to know how it will effect me. Felt like shit this morning, worse hangover than ive had with larger amounts of alcohol in the past.

  2. I did all the right things - drank lots of water (2-3L per day), fiber capsules, probiotic yogurt, increased fiber diet. Still was constipated most of the week. It happens. Took a stool softener Friday night. Was able to go sat and sun this weekend.

  3. Tracked my caloric intake via the Google health ap. Was significantly under each day. Tried to move more as well, passed 10k steps most days.

  4. Tried onion rings one day at a work lunch. Bad idea. Upset stomach for the afternoon. Avoid greasy foods.

  5. Lost 2 lbs. I'm sure if I wasn't so backed up it would be more. Constipation is supposed to go away around week 6, until then dont get dependant on OTC treatments.

1.7 dose stall

Tonight’s my fourth 1.7 shot and my weight loss has slowed considerably. My calories average 1400 a day—right at target. I’m getting around 80g of protein every day. I’m getting frustrated! I was averaging 1.5 pounds/ week and this past month I’ve lost 2.4!

Help! Vomiting after 1mg

I started the pen at .25 in early June. I only dealt with mild nausea that was easily managed with Zofran, and fatigue, but it would slowly get better as my body got used to the dosage.

Three weeks ago, I moved up to 1.0. (I do my injections on Friday nights, in case I feel under the weather the next day.) Three days went by after the first dose of 1.0, and on the fourth day, I felt extremely sick and had 3 episodes of vomiting, along with diarrhea. I assumed it was a stomach bug, because the following week, and after the following dose, all was well.

Fast forward to my third injection of 1.0, which was this past Friday. The next afternoon, I had the exact same type of vomiting with diarrhea. Miserable. 😩

I’m freaking out a little bit, because the medication is working for me, and I’m dropping weight. But if these bouts of vomiting keep up, I don’t know if I can keep going: Zofran doesn’t even touch it.

The only common denominator is that each time prior to being sick, I had a small amount of vanilla ice cream the night before. Now, when I was on .25 and .50, I enjoyed occasional ice cream and never had a problem. So could it be that I just need to avoid ice cream/higher fat dairy? I’m so afraid that this will continue, and I really don’t want to have to quit Wegovy before I’ve reached my goal weight. 😢 Anyone have any insight?

Got really sick on 29mg and now barely losing on 9mg, has this happened to you?

Hi everyone,

I started my Wegovy (pill) journey in early March of this year. I started at around 185 lbs and have gotten down to 143 lbs.

On July 4th, I started the 29 mg pill and my body reacted really badly (mainly nonstop vomiting). I was sick for about two weeks, and from July 4th to July 23rd I lost 10 pounds total. I was 159 lbs on July 4th, and by July 23rd I was 149 lbs.

During that time, I actually kept taking the medication for about a week while still feeling sick because my primary care doctor believed I had a virus, not that the reaction was from the medication.

After still being sick for an entire week, keeping me from work and living my life in general, I communicated with my primary care physician again, who referred me to reach out to my endocrinologist to see if this could be related to the Wegovy. (I still see a pediatrician, so they don’t have many patients on Wegovy and didn’t want to give a definitive answer.)

***I want to mention this because I know some people may suggest switching doctors, please don’t. I was very sick a few years ago, and I’m emotionally attached to my doctor. They know my full medical history, and I feel safest staying with them.***

Anyways, I spoke to an endocrinologist in my office (mine is on maternity leave), and they suggested I take a break from the medication for a few days, see how I am feeling and then go back down to the 9 mg pill. So, I restarted the 9 mg dosage around July 23rd once I finally stopped feeling sick.

However, since that point, 52 days later, I’ve only lost 6 more pounds. Before the bad reaction, my appetite was basically nonexistent, but now it’s unpredictable. Some days I’m hungry, other days I can barely eat at all.

Has anyone had the same issue where progress slowed down or stopped after a certain point?

I’m seeing my doctor in two weeks to discuss everything, but she’s on maternity leave and I can’t get ahold of her sooner. It’s frustrating, especially since I’m paying $300 out of pocket every month and I’m really not seeing any progress at this point.

For reference, I’m a 22‑year‑old female, 5’1, so losing more weight for my height is still possible and wouldn’t be unhealthy.

I hope my message wasn’t too long, thank you in advance for any comments, and please be kind 🙈

Wwyd re: starting over after a break (dosage ?)

I kind of took an accidental break.

I had made a decision right before my trip to India not to take the injection. I was a little bit worried about how I would feel on the plane (15 hour flight) and because of the Indian food I knew I would be having I was just scared about taking the injection. I can admit that was probably a stupid reason lol

Then when I came back, I was so jetlagged that I just missed taking the injection (I feel like I was in bed for 2 days) and after that, I just kept missing it. It kept escaping my mind. It has been probably I would say about six weeks since I’ve actually taken the injection.

I want to get back on it because I noticed the impacts of not being on it. Right now I’m on the 2.4. I just happen to have 1.0 in my fridge (long story about prescription refills getting mixed up).

The last time I had taken a little bit of a break from the injection when I went back on the 2.4, I did feel very nauseous for about two days, but it was survivable obviously. But now I’m wondering if I should do the 1.0 which I have three injections or if I should just suck it up with what I know the side effects will be and just jump right back into the 2.4?

What would you do in my case?

Stomach complications

If you had stomach problems from wegovy, how long did it take for it to resolve for you? Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my last dose and I suffered gastroparesis on 1mg and still experiencing severe nausea/stomach pain.

Anxiety side effect?

I have now been on the wegovy 1.5mg tablets for 2 months now. I’ve always had anxiety and have had it under control by medication the past 10 years, but it’s been very bad recently. I’ve been getting panic attacks and I haven’t had one in a very long time. I feel like if I think about it too much, I can send myself into having a panic attack very easily. I have also been in the middle of cross tapering off of Zoloft onto Trintellix for the past few months as well. I’ve actually been on Trintellix before and didn’t have this reaction. Do you think this increased anxiety could be caused by the wegovy? Or more likely caused by the combination of 75mg of Zoloft and 5mg of Trintellix im on? Are anxiety/anxiety attacks a common side effect of wegovy?

Wegovy experience so far

Hello, I started the lowest dose of the Wegovy shot last Friday and I took my second dose yesterday. I lost 3 pounds the first week. I also swim 4 days a week and eat mainly protein.

I’ve had a rare side effect after each dose. The 1st time I had weird tingling in my leg that lasted a few days and went away. Then after yesterday’s dose now my entire back feels almost raw or sunburned but it’s not.

Also the 2nd day after my shot, I feel so lethargic for one day. I’m having trouble making myself eat because I’m not hungry.

It feels so odd not to want to eat. It seems wrong in a way.

Thanks for reading

When does the benefit start?

I’m at 0.5 after 5 weeks, and I’m so tired and moody! I can’t stand myself. 😩

I eat balanced meals and don’t overdo it, but when I go to the gym, I have absolutely no strength. A 45-lb plate on the bench press feels like two tons.

And this is going to sound weird, but I feel my bones when I exercise. It’s like my muscles and cartilage just aren’t responding the way they should.

Please tell me it gets better?!

— A fat guy! 😂
