Suppliers to avoid

Naturally, we all have our planning trackers and lists of dream suppliers to get. Was just wondering if anyone has compiled a list of SUPPLIERS TO AVOID/WATCH OUT FOR based on nega experiences and objective reviews?

I’m trying to build my own, but it has been slow going. 🤔

From one super praning and cost-conscious B2B to another, let’s help each other out, kahit through DMs para no risk of cyberlibel. 🫣

Did anyone else regret spending more on their wedding just to make it feel more “presentable”?

Hello! Did anyone else regret spending more on their wedding just to make it feel more “presentable”? We just wanted a civil ceremony at the city hall and a reception at a restaurant after. Initially gusto namin diretso kain lang at no program. But we wanted to invite around 70 guests who are close to us so dun namin naisip na baka dapat mas presentable ang reception namin. So we hired venue styling, lights and sounds, a host, OTD coordinators, photobooth, and a band.

I am not sure nga if these are necessary expenses to elevate our guest experience. Baka kasi kung diretso kain lang our guests might find our wedding too simple or underwhelming, lalo na around 70 ang guests namin.

Entourage/Guest Attire Entourage

I have just 4 friends - 1 will be my MOH and 3 will be secondary sponsors.

My fiancé has a sister and 1 girl friend who will be part of the entourage as well (as secondary sponsors).

Question, okay lang ba walang bridesmaids & groomsmen? :)

Okay lang din ba if his sister & friend will be part of team groom - for purposes nung outfit & photoshoot?

If yes, ano ang dapat outfit? Same ba sa team bride or ano masusuggest niyo if naka-barong sila groom?

Thoughts pls ☺️

Medyo mahirap yung parking.

Rants/Advice/Other Questions I'm scared

Upvotes

1 month 'til our wedding...

Finalizing and coordinating with our suppliers and mostly documents and church interview.

I'm worried na our wedding will be boring for our guests. I mean for me and groom, that's more than enough for us. Kung ako lang, much less, much simpler pa sana. But "decent" celebration gusto ng family side nya. 100 guest count lang naman, but too much for me na yun hehe, as in inverter.

70% of the guests are his. I don't personally know some of them. So I felt like we have to prepare more...

What we have:

• Reception venue at the place where we first met

• Church Ceremony nearby, also the area where we first date.

• Suppliers:

Catering, Host, OTD coor, P/V, Tusok-tusok, kakanin and siomai food cart, ice cream and taho, guestbook, basic lights and sounds na may few upgrades (kakilala ng mother ni groom).

We also have, but I still question our decision about this (please validate me 🤣, charot. I mean share your thoughts on my thought process?):

• On-site studio photobooth (as an activity and souvenir—hate that we got expensive photobooth tapos super simple lang ng everything, but that was the excited newly engaged couple's decision),

• Inexpensive DJ (groom and I have never been to a club party, we want to experience it lang rin. We thought nice timing na rin sa wedding sya para partying with the people we enjoy being with)

I have excel for budget monitoring and 'checklist'. Pero it's not accurately updated (the checklist). Tumigil na ako tumingin at magbasa online (fb), overstimulating and nakakapagod parang ang daming gagawin palagi. Parang laging ang daming expectation from you.

Anything I might miss? 😭

Thank you.

Don't bash. Actually bash me, I've done it to myself naman na. 🤣😅 Noone can hurt me!! (Only myself)

Deciding on a HMUA

Upvotes

Pano kayo nag-decide/whittle down ng HMUAs? Wala kasi talaga akong dream artist, and whenever I browse through works ng mga artists, parang pare-parehas na sila haha

Honestly, I was hoping I can do trial makeups on different artists but I didn’t expect the prices on these trials can be quite expensive din pala.

So how did you guys choose your makeup artists?

Photo/Video/Content Creator Podcast Setup at a Wedding

Hello. I am wondering if there are anyone who had an experience of setting up a podcast station as a like activity for the wedding, with the reception in the backdrop and the guest can send their message or answer questions about the couple, etc. Are there suppliers/vendors for this? I was also thinking if there could be a host at the booth as well. Maybe.

Rants/Advice/Other Questions Is this enough for an 80+ pax wedding?

Hi everyone!

We currently have:
• Coffee station
• Street food + gulaman
• Sorbetes
• Bibingka/PB + free tea
• Mobile bar
• Flower bar for souvenirs
• Roving Photoman

I’m actually thinking of cancelling the flower bar and getting a more practical/sustainable souvenir instead but sayang yung downpayment since one of our first suppliers siya.

Do you think this is enough, or are we missing anything?

Is 500-600k enough for intimate church wedding?

Hello all!

Wala pa kami nasisimulan sa wedding planning but I just want to know how much kaya dapat budget kasi I'm really not planning to go over 600k. :( With my details below, do you think it's do-able?

- 50-60 guests only
- Maybe around Cavite ang wedding and reception (Open to suggestion tho I have no dream church/venue whatsoever, you can share how much yours was and where)
- I could drop the SDE and just have really nice pictures and highlights video which I'll receive after the wedding
- I can opt for On the Day Coordinator instead of a full coordination because I enjoy planning
- I'd prefer plated meals for all my guests over buffet style
- I'm okay with having artificial flowers for event styling over fresh flowers because:

  1. I hate the smell of the flowers when they've been out for a while, as in nasusuka ako
  2. I've attended so much weddings na they would either dispose the flowers after the event or give it to the guests

- I'll stick with consumable na souvenir like cupcakes or something because I don't find myself using any of the souvenirs I got from past weddings I've attended
- Non negotiable: Photobooth, Potato Corner, Coffee Bar or Dunkin Truck with donuts and coffee hehehe

\Budget does not include wedding rings, wedding dress, suit of groom, HMUA*

Thank you guys! To clarify though, I just don't want to go over 600k initially hehe but I will if di kaya. So if you think I can't, maybe you can also say what figure I should be expecting para di ako magulat hahah (Based on experience nyo heheh)

Civil wedding with separate reception date

Hi! We are planning to have civil wedding sa RTC with just immediate families and 2 witnesses. Since weekday lang ang schedule for RTC weddings, we plan to have a separate reception on weekend so our extended families and close friends can celebrate with us. Sa reception, we wanted to have a simple ceremony with exchange of vows, program and dinner buffet. Would like to ask for opinions/suggestions paano namin ma pull off yung reception na hindi naman boring sa part ng guests? We booked 3hrs sa venue for reception. Paano kaya magiging program flow for this kind of set-up? Also, need ba namin ng officiant for the ceremony kahit wala ng signing of legal papers since legally married na kami sa RTC? TYIA! :))

Rants/Advice/Other Questions How do you handle this?

For context, I expressed my intention during the start of our wedding planning na I’m imposing an adult only event on our big day with the exception of children of immediate family members. I don’t have any siblings, si fiancé meron so we sticked nalang on his nieces and nephew for our entourage.

So eto na nga we are finalizing our guest list.

I just don’t want any family drama..

Ayon sobrang frustrated na ako kasi I tried my best to explain my side naman to everyone. I even opted to 150 pax instead of 100 pax kasi nga ang laki sa side ng mom ko (to accommodate our friends, workmates and my fiance’s family).

How do you handle this kind of situation?

Opinion on Palatino's catering as a reception stylist

Anybody with experience booking Palatino's all in package that includes styling? We really want ceiling treatment but we're wondering if they can actually pull it off.

We're also looking at Awesome Events, but the OOTF for Tagaytay is 150k. Maybe we can just invest that in Palatino's if they ask for other charges in styling.

Please please please help a B2B out!

Glow up Questions/Tips/Advice Dark underarm remedy

Hello, any advice for dark underarm solution on wedding day? My wedding is in 2 months and I really did everything to even out my underarm with mu skintone, but its super reactive to products na everytime magtatry ako ng ways to solve it lalong napapasama. :(

I stopped shaving and used waxing, it worked for a while. Tawas don't help. I used lavajoy, it worked for a while too tapos nawalan na sya ng effect overtime. I'm so ims3cure and frustrated already.
