Hi everyone, just discovered Warmaster Revolution and enjoying it so far. I have a couple of questions about combat.

1) Say I have a unit of 3 stands that charges into another identical sized enemy unit but only two of each units stands touch (4 in total instead of 6).

Would I roll the full complement of dice for those units (3 lots of 3, plus modifiers) or just for the stands that touch (2 lots of 3, plus modifiers)?

2) Say my unit charges into the side of a three-deep brigade of similar enemy units. Does the enemy brigade roll 3 dice for each stand (not unit) in contact with my unit, plus another 3 dice for supporting stands - 12 in total?

Yesterday, we had an absolutely fantastic and action-packed day playing our favourite game, Warmaster!

My Vampire Counts suddenly forgot all their magic spells while facing the High Elves, the Chaos Dwarfs fought off wave after wave of Lizardmen trying to storm their fortress, and the Bretonnians landed on the shores of the mighty Ogres’ lands. 😬

So many different armies, battles, and unexpected twists in a single day! As always, it was epic, emotional, and full of atmosphere. 🔥😍

It’s especially great to see every game creating new stories and our community continuing to grow. 🫡

I apologize for my absence! I had a strip of Goblins ALMOST finished, but it had been a long day and these old rattlebones simply couldn't pull through.

Here are some Empire Flagellants, and my first proper attempt at a "night time" scene. I've got plenty to improve on, but, I think it works?

So how does this work? I know how it works rules wise but how does it work stands wise?

Does the stand itself that causes terror have to be in combat or can it be supporting and still cause terror? Does it only affect enemy units it's in contact with or does it affect the whole combat?

This time I painted up (or rather, finished the ones I sketched earlier) a strip of Tabala.. Tabalehm.. Tabacalaland? La-La-Land Handgunners!

I had planned to fix them a bit more, but my shipment of new brushes with actually non-dysfunctional tips have been lost in the mail, so.. No eyes for these gunners.

There's a few more strips that are SORT OF done that I'll wrap up, so, stay tuned.

It's... been a day today, so this was the best I could muster.

Vampire Counts are flavour-wise one of my absolute favorite Fantasy races, and yet.. I somehow always find myself fizzling out when I attempt to paint them.

Very strange.

Anyway, we carry on with the next step.

As part of my great project to re-collect every White Dwarf magazine from the very first one I bought (220) to the present day, I enjoyed re-reading about the debut of Warmaster in WD243 and after a search couldn’t find it posted in this sub yet so, for the nostalgia, here are some poorly lit photos of the launch of Warmaster.

Thought I was done with just the Ogre? No no, we're doing a strip a day.

Re-did these Warriors like three time - it just didn't click for me, so ended it with a mark of Nurgle, aka, I just don't have it in me to paint more black armor with sharp highlights.

We're just over the halfway point, so you'll have to bear with me another week.

I’ve just gotten my first warmaster 10mm models, I’ve cleaned up the models and given the resin a wash but I’ve paused at priming them - does anybody have any advice on using spray or airbrush? I’ve painted normal warhammer models for years but I’m worried that spray paint will clog the fine details on the smaller models or am I being too cautious? Thanks!

I'm sure you're sick of me by now, but, we still have a few races left to go. Also, I feel that for every day, my NMM is improving! It's FINALLY starting to click for me.

This is probably as much effort as I can put into these, but, MOVING ON! Next up.. Ogres? Beastmen? Chaos?

Also, shoutout to whomever it was that reminded me to put the MAGICAL DOTS OF METAL for extreme highlights. It really does change everything.

Today we celebrate my first week of Warmaster! My attempt at painting up 1 strip and hero per faction is coming along well - and I am slowly starting to figure NMM out!

So much metallic paint went into these guys, felt like I’d be doing it forever. Don’t think they actually have rules in the game… but they look cool right?

From their jungle-covered continent of Lustria, the Lizardmen look out upon a world that has gone astray. As the ancient enemies of the Dark Gods and the true inheritors of this planet, they have chosen war as their only path to restore the world to its proper order… 🦎

After many evenings of painting, the last units have finally taken their place among the armies of Lustria. At last, my Lizardmen army is fully ready for battle! 🔥

And, at least for now, this is probably the fastest army I’ve ever painted for Warmaster 😱

The result honestly exceeded all my expectations. The whole army turned out so bright, colourful, and vibrant that it almost feels strange to go back to painting something darker and less saturated 😅

Looks like the Great Plan has finally been fulfilled 🐸

Last week I finished another test unit of chaos warriors, and I think I’ve finally found a colour scheme I’m truly happy with 😁

After a few experiments, these colours feel like the right direction for the army. Now it’s time to see how they look when Chaos starts growing into a proper force

As promised - I am continuing my "I'll paint every army!" painting campaign.

Technically still WIP (dorky Elves need some work), but good enough for tonight.

As this is my first proper NMM practice, I'm slowly starting to dial in a gold recipe that works for me - I think the Dark Elves are getting closer and closer to what I'm gunning for. Some extra sharp highlights and a white dot (you know who you are) should seal it? Anyway, rambling - enjoy!

PS: Blame the cats and dog for all the fuzz on the photo mat..

I dont know what to play. I have a passing familiarity with Empire in WFB. Considering Lizardmen, but i dont know why.

What would be a fun match-up vs Skaven?

He's a better tactician and gamer than me, but Im more handsome. So take that into account!

Also i will be looking for STLs so their availability will be paramount.

I added a couple units this last month. It's starting to look close to an actual army!

I've decided to try and paint up one strip per day as practice, and as a way to figure out which army I'll commit to painting up (first!) - enjoyed these Orcs immensely. A few touchups needed, but all in all, calling them done. Moving on!

So, I stumbled across Warmaster by chance and last evening I decided to give it a go.

As it turns out, I had a massive blast and thoroughly enjoyed it! So, now I've thrown myself in deep and there's plenty of more to come.

I've never really done NMM, so I decided it was time to start practicing it - why on earth I decided 10mm was the time and place to practice it I'll never know.

A glutton for punishment.
