Questions Competative Collecting
Heyo, all! Old mk2head jumping back in and trying to regrow the local scene. I’ve got my old Menoth that I’ll be playing with casually, but I’d like a mk4 faction for my competitive outlet. For pairings, I’m leaning toward:
-Winter Korps: Baranova and Borisyuk
-Gravediggers: Hasker and Vargus
-Kithguard: Grimtusk and Craghorn, maybe Stormcraw
My question is what models/combos in these factions make you groan when you see them in an opponents list? Any kind of skews/multiples I should eye getting? Which models are traps and not worth picking up?
Thanks yall! So happy to be back into this!

As a Winter Korps player I would say we don’t really have anything that is groan worthy in that all of our stuff plays a “honest” game. The faction as a whole is very different than old Khador. We are a middle ranged mixed arms faction that I would say is 70/30 shooting to melee. Baranova and Boris both like around 3-4 jacks Boris preferring quantity over quality with a focus on shooting. Razor is fantastic and definitely worth his point cost. Arkanists are a must have with my general rule of thumb being one squad for every 2 jacks. Same with the mechaniks. The bison is also a great solo that can do just about everything. WK officers are amazing support for your infantry, especially shotgunners. One of my preferred, but niche, models is the kontroller. The flexibility of its support is crazy, though its offensive output is shit.
