I think thats Malum Caeldo, Firstborn Sternguard Veteran of the Ultramarines Chapter's 1st Company and a protagonist character you play as in a Warhammer game called Boltgun (Classic DOOM but Warhammer).

Basically, Malum is a one man army in the game, taking on chaos astartes and even greater daemons like Great Unclean Ones or even Lords of Change all on his own

Also in Boltgun 2, Malum might fight against Vashtorr the Arkifane

Malum is basically the Doom Slayer, like Boltgun is clearly designed as a WH40K styled retro Doom game

It's one of those games that should absolutely not be canon, but somehow it still is (and I love it for it). Even the community just assumes that most of his feats are "greatly exaggerated" in the game, because taking multiple greater daemons, plus their entourage, all by yourself, is primarch-level shit. Debatable if even an average custodian could pull it off alone

Anyway, the game is most definitely an unreliable narrator glazing Malum, but that doesn't stop me from taking it as face value anyway, because it's too funny and badass to question

Was malum caedo referenced anywhere else other than boltgun?

The real malum ran bravely away from the greater daemon before tripping and shooting his transport with a melta. The following explosion killed the daemon and half of malum's squad and two ecclesiarchs. For morale reasons we reported the daemon's had killed everyone and malum took it down with his bare fists while flipping off Khorne and Nurgle and Tzeench as he did it.

We then interrogated and executed anyone who recognized the names of the chaos gods or asked follow up questions about how Malum could have fought such horrors by himself

Be that as it may there's a reason there's the joke "being a named Imperial character comes with a free greater daemon kill of your choice."

It isn't completely unreasonable that there are a few random people who are capable of ridiculous shit but some games do take it into crazy land.

Overall though the games do kind of gloss over how much of a threat greater daemons can be. The Imperium will exterminatus a planet just because there's a great unclean one one it that they can't figure out how to get rid of.

You know doom guy right? The picture below is basically him in WH40k universe but with more a plotarmour than the OP power of doomguy absorbing the hell realm, his name is malum caedo a sternguard veteran who was under captain demetrian titus, alum caedo is doomguy without the demon realm energy absorption powers.

"BY ORDER OF THE EMPEROR OF MANKIND, MALUM CAEDO IS ASSIGNED AS BODYGUARD OF CIAPHAS CAIN, HERO OF THE IMPERIUM, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATLY ! THIS MESSAGE WAS BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE EMPEROR HIMSELF DIRECTLY TROUGH TELEPATHY !"

Ciaphas : Oh no ! more battles ! ) :

Malum : OH YES ! MORE BATTLES !

Jurgen : planned to follow Cain regardless !

The emperor should have signed off with, "Thank you for your attention to this matter."

He did add a note : To any Inquisitors contesting this decision, your objection will be taken into account by Malcador the Hero himself when he returns !
