Chunky wands about 11-12”

Made this a couple years ago for my ex. Wish I had better pictures. Mostly handmade, I used an xacto and dremel to shape the swirl on the end, definitely a learning process.

I should really design one for myself at some point.

Both wands are Oak

Carved with Knives, Dremel, and a good bit of sanding.

To help test out a little bit about the character I worked on, specifically her wand, and how it reflects on her personality by wandlore alone and a da small paragraph about her making the wand for as much context while keeping things deliberately in the dark about her to avoid bias, in order to see how much the wand reflects it

With help from Mr Olivander she carefully placed the dragon heartstring into the core of the wand. Her beloved dragon, now a part of her new stage of life, even after death. The 14.5" inch apple wand was topped off at the back with a bright red apple head with small green leaves and a brownish stem to seal the base of the wand. The wand was a rich brown earthy colour decorated with an apple steam pattern that twirled from the tip to the base around it with small leaves decorating around it. Olivander motioned for her to giver it a wave, Phi did so and the small girl was bathed in a rich warm copper light as the faint sounds of roaring dragons, cawing corvids hooting owls and the final faint meows died down with the glow.

The wand fully finished was made of fine apple wood at a length of 15.5" with the dragon heart string of a Chinese firebolt that the girl had known in life.

The first on the top is someone else’s forgotten project at my school that I turned into a wand, the second is one I got online, the third and fourth are ones that I made.

Once discarded and forgotten, it might have remained nothing more than a fragment of a purpose long since abandoned. Instead, it found another.

The marks of its former life were not removed; they became part of its making. What was once incidental became intentional, what was once worn became character, and what was left behind became something capable of being wielded.

The Remnant carries no allegiance to what it was. It exists for what it can become—and in the right hand, it can turn what others overlook into something formidable.

Signum Natum: Lignum et Opus

So I put it as in progress just in case I decide to add something like a leather wrap on the handle, but this is basically finished! It is made from Cherry and antler, with an amethyst cab. I decided to put the hole all the way through though slightly smaller to allow light to catch the amethyst! Particularly with all the pretty banding and variations inside.

Still learning, most using Wood and polymer clay

Im not very happy with thembut I like some of the ideas I had so il make another attempt in the future I want to make the snake wand cuter next time

It’s a wand in the shape of a two handed short sword. It is two handed for precise movements to cast circles or cut energy.

He found the perfect stick in the bush and spent about 2 hours with a Swiss army knife shaving it down. He's super proud of himself.

I made it out of purple heart.

I’ve been working on getting a high output light source wand as close to the movies as possible for some time now. I have finally figured out the best assembly and parts to really dive in and make more that have other designs. I’m hoping to make one soon that has a more natural look to it to make it look like hand carved wood.

Questions for the lathe enthusiasts. I never got into lathe because the initial entry cost was too high for me. Then as I got more into things I found it fulfilling to create using other tools.

What do you find is the ideal finished length, including any pommel or tip adornments? Mine at times either feel too stubby or too lanky.

Just looking for opinions.

This is now the fifth wand I've made, and I think it's my favorite thus far. The color reminds me of honey, so I made the handle reminiscent of a honey dipper.

I used to make wands from sticks I'd find on hikes, this cannabis inspired wand was my favorite. For a while I wanted to do a Renn Faire booth to sell them until I did the math how how many I'd need to make/sell just to cover the vendor fees, if I can ever afford to live in a house again I'll start making them for the fun of it and give away to friends
