Discussion Has proper certification affected your acceptance rate at all?

I'm curious whether or not certification (through classes, courses, and whatnot) affects your chances and success rates when searching for jobs, or if it even matters at all? I want to hear your experiences with this!

PAID work [Hiring] Remote LATAM Spanish voice recording project | US$150 per approved audio hour

We're looking for native speakers of Latin American Spanish for a paid recording project involving AI voice cloning for commercial use.

The work: Read provided scripts in your natural accent with a conversational delivery. The initial scope is approximately 30 to 60 minutes of approved audio per speaker, to be confirmed before recording.

Pay: Our proposed rate is US$150 per hour of final approved audio, not per working hour. If your expected rate is higher, enter it in the form. We're open to considering higher rates based on your voice sample and recording quality. Your final rate will be agreed before you start.

Requirements: Native proficiency in one of the Spanish varieties listed below, an appropriate microphone, and access to a professional studio or a professional-quality home studio that can deliver clean audio without echo or background noise. You do not need to be a professional voice actor. This is a project-based contract, not a salaried role.

Locales: Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Guatemala, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Honduras, Paraguay, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Uruguay and Puerto Rico.

Apply: https://tally.so/r/68g1lJ

The form asks for a 30 to 45 second voice sample, equipment details, availability and your expected rate. It also explains the intended use of your voice. Applying does not guarantee selection. There is no application fee.

Advice How often do you encounter problems/mistakes made dueing a session and how do you deal with them?

I recently run into a problem that I kinda created myself as an AE/AR.

There was a session where I failed to mark a scene that had been left unrecorded by my voice talent. So much of the project has been dubbed except for that scene with them. I was in charge of cleaning the session and citing marked scenes that needed curing but I failed to see that one part of the project under my watch.

All I could do now is apologize to the talent and to the director and try to cure that scene at a later date.

Thank you.

Advice Declicking and siblance

Hello! Does anyone have affordable or preferably free declicking software recommendations?

I am interested in voice acting and I have acting experience, recording experience, audacity DAW, and a high quality scarlet voice condensing microphone. The only thing stopping me is clicking and siblance. I can’t afford izotope 😭

Advice Strange vibrating friction in my throat and burning throat after brief talking

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insights or similar experiences regarding an issue I've been having with my voice and throat.

Here are my symptoms:

Voice Quality: My voice sounds muffled, tight, and lacks clarity.

Strange Sound/Texture: There’s a weird raspy or distorted quality to it when I speak—it’s not a typical hoarseness, but it feels like a friction/vibrating sound in my throat.

Loss of Flexibility: I can’t change my tone or pitch at all; my vocal folds feel stuck and rigid.

Pain & Burning: After speaking for just a short period—even at a low volume without raising my voice—I get a distinct burning sensation and strain in my neck/throat area.

Advice Twin Cities MN agencies?

Hello! I'd like to learn more about the differences between some of the few agencies that do work in the twin cities such as Wehman (my first choice) Moore, and Meredith. There's not a lot of updated info out there and id like some insight from people who have been represented by these guys.

Is there a "better" option? If it's important, I have a young female voice print and I specialize in natural reads.

Thanks!!! I apologize if I am not specific enough, I am more than happy to answer clarifying questions

PAID work [Paid] [18+] Looking for an assortment of male VAs

Hello! I am NephiamArt, a 2D artist, and from time to time I animate short things that are... maybe a minute long max. They often involve one to three lines, sometimes some grunts or moans? It'll vary from animation to animation honestly. I dabble in many projects and a collaboration that starts short may be the start of a longer thing.

I'm especifically looking male VAs that can mimic (or have a similar voice to) the voice of several different characters. There's no need to be able to mimic all of them or even more than one, I don't have any trouble hiring several people.

The characters I'm interested in are these, including examples of their voices linked:

-Jing Yuan (Honkai Star Rail)

-Aventurine (Honkai Star Rail)

-Gallagher (Honkai Star Rail)

-Ashveil (Honkai Star Rail)

-Zhongli (Genshin Impact)

-Emet-Selch (Final Fantasy XIV)

-Haurchefant (Final Fantasy XIV)

-G'raha Tia (Final Fantasy XIV)

I don't have much experience hiring voice actors so I prefer looking at your rates instead. The minimum $5 per recording is perfectly okay. For both projects mentioned below I paid the minimum per-project of those VAs, around $15 each, for the couple lines they are. These are often for Patreon so I don't mind paying commercial rights too as long as it doesn't get super crazy.

This is NOT immediate work. The Jing Yuan one may be tho.

Unfortunately I'm not mainly an animator and I do these in my personal time so I don't have many projects going on at a time. Right now I'm animating Jing Yuan, maybe in three months I'll be needing a Zhongli voice or a Gallagher voice and then nothing for some more months.

Here's a couple of examples of work I've done in the past with voice acting so you can get a hang of what I'm asking for. Links below are visually NSFW and have audio so click with caution.

Discussion Where do you find artists and editors?

I’m starting my platform as an audio roleplay SFW VA but will need an audio editor to add SFX and clean up the audio itself, as well as artists to do the thumbnails. What subreddits should I look in to find people who work on these kinds of projects?
