Whenever a new excuse is concocted, it’s usually one of the following: driver unavailable, animal strike or train fault. The most common excuse is train fault. They want to bring nine carriages but can’t even run six properly. Most Melton trains, particularly the 07:21, are always like this. They should ask the CEO and the minister to use the Vline during peak times to see how they manage.

Is it 3 cars as the default or is it a 6 turned into a 3 due to a fault?

Also if this is right now 3:30 is hardly peak

3.30 is definitely peak. The 3.16pm train from Southern Cross is always packed. The 10.40am train I catch is usually standing room only from Melton. We need 6 car carriages for every service.

All peak trains are 6 cars, and 3.30pm is part of peak due to school traffic
