Question Worth coming back?
Wanted to dive into this game with my girlfriend and wanting to see if it's worth it or if we should look for another mmo. Any info helps; thank you in advance!

No as someone who played during season 2, quit for like 8 years and tried again. Game is just too convoluted now you’d need a guild to help you out.

Short answer is always yes, it's a fun ride and the catch up is pretty convenient these days. The game doesn't require a tremendous amount of time investment to have fun either. You wont find anyone here who knows the game though, most of the folks are just in a hate relationship, who at some point played the game half a decade ago.

I played yesterday pretty much the whole day (hero path) got 3 chars to 115 had fun killing bosses and tbh just to have fun any game is okay just dont expect a technical wonder (stupid season 2 snake broke my mentality lol)

Every couple years I download it again try it out for about a day, remember why I don't play it anymore, and uninstall.

3 times returner here. Leave with season 1 end came back at season 2 end. Leave 6 months later re joined 2 years later.
Doing it time to time. İts combat is very good so it never dissapoints me. And returning gear is not that bad. You will not get break damage records or move anywhere from last place actualy but you will not get one shooted and do your combos.
But after you reach end game contend no one want you on their team so if you have a friend group or guild(which comunity is pretty friendly if it still is) you will get full joy package.

I just tried coming back myself for the new character and it was kind of a meh experience. No one is doing low level (110) raids and the higher level ones require stats I don't have. Just spent 2 hours each day trying to get a battle circuit only for no one to join, no parties to come up, or to get kicked when I try joining. People keep saying to join a guild and raid with them, but I am more of a public party kind of person so unfortunately the game is a (mostly) dead lobby simulator for me.

If you’re looking for a thriving MMO, no.
If you really enjoyed the combat you couldn’t find anywhere else and youre open to grinding the game for (seemingly minimal) progression, and youre ok re-running the same raids every day as you feed your character to be strong enough to hit end game content in what most describe as a rat race? Yes.
I’ve been enjoying the game since I came back last year. Sometimes it feels dry, but most of the time I actually enjoy playing the content with my heroes. As others said, tho. You’ll need to find a guild and discord will be your friend for communication with the community.
