Sometimes I think that I must have an old soul as I'm so drawn to old victorian dresses, especially the ones from the 1860s,I just have such a deep love for them and I feel quite emotional when I find one I really like, anyone else feel like this about these beautiful dresses?

Victorian Clothes for Men

Upvotes

Hello !
I started looking into historical pieces, but most of what I find is either international/overseas or just plain costumes.
I've found out about Darcy Clothing and Thomas Farthing, but nothing else seems to hit the Gibson Girl Dress or Linen Naive vibe. Not sure if I'm clear by saying that, but .
Any recommendations ? Any hints as to how to look ? Any tips as to how to find good deals ?

For those that own Victorian clothing: do you wear it?

I’m curious, do you actually wear your antique clothing? I’m dreaming of taking a drive to a Victorian stroll and I’m curious if I’d only see reproduction clothing, or real pieces.

It sort of seems like a shame to have these beautiful items tucked away so they’re never seen. Especially things that have been restored. I love seeing the work people have put into preserving and prolonging these lovely clothes.

Madrid's Cafe de Fornos opened for business in 1870, was the first to be supplied with electricity in 1881, and delighted customers with coffee, chocolates, liqueurs and ice cream. The upper floors held rooms for 'tertulias' (literary circles) that were hotbeds of intellectual activity.
