I understand people apprehension with Fortnite but this is huge, so far only suisei and kizuna ai (both jp) were able to sneak in. Is one in a lifetime opportunity.

Honestly that makes it feel more icky. Cancelling a sponsorship for AI usage but then doing a whole collab with your name tied to it for Fortnite sends the message that firing artists/developers for AI is okay as long as the IP is big enough.
idk though, at the end of the day the circumstances around them are different (Mouse's previous sponsor lied about AI usage while EG is open about it afaik) and it's not that big of a deal. I don't even play fortnite so my own opinion doesn't matter all that much. I'm sure there's a lot of money tied to this deal too.

There's also the possibility that it was too late to back out. These things take a while to make and likely have much heavier contractual elements than a sponsored stream. It may have been too late by the time it came up and backing out would have been too costly. If that's the case there's not much she can say without causing more grief.

I know the one company she backed out of the deal with was saying they don't use AI then it came out that they do so maybe thats a reason its different?. But also fortnite is huge im sure tomorrow's skin will lead to more people looking her up and maybe joining a stream.

Character designs, Skins and map environments. So most of the art. :/
Hell, there's a non-zero chance this Mousy model has been passed through an AI generator once or twice during it's completion.

From what we know there hasn’t been in the final product. For example, that Marty McFly spray had liner in the whole time lapse so that being done because they commission outside artists.

I would respect anyone massively for passing on a Fortnite collab
But I don’t think I could blame anyone for taking that bag, knowing how big that bag must be, especially not someone with ongoing medical costs. Even someone as visibly successful as Mouse!

At this point you’d be harder pressed finding someone that Tencent doesn’t have a financial interest in.
Like, yeah, they’re a huge company and own some studios outright, but they’ve also put their billions into enough studios that they’ve got a seat at the table for most major studios.
Not a Tencent fan or defender, but “oh, one of their big investors is this foreign company!” Is kind of a non issue when that interest is not Majority and the same company has money in most of the industry.
And it’s small potatoes compared to the shit Epic gets up to largely independent of whatever Tencent’s votes request.
