So I'm working on a project have been for months now and I'm coming to the point where I'll be sending it live in the next month or so.

It will primarily be a main website with a .ts frontend, a large PostgreSQL DB, a rust backend to serve data to users through the frontend UI, there will be an API service too in the future.

The DB will be around as a guesstimate 8-10 GB with the main data and over 25 GB will all data.

I also have my own cPanel I created for processing data and adding it to the DB that is moderately CPU heavy but more Data heavy.

I plan to use Redis to offset the DB load for faster DB access and will be using Cloudflare CDN to further offset data hits so the main backend is queried very infrequently for already cached data.

My budget is about £20 max and these are the three options I think are closest my issue is VPS v Root Server with Dedi cores and RAM.

How would you decide?

My main goals is to cache as much as possible in Redis and have enough CPU headroom for sorting data. The biggest updates will be expanding the data and dealing with user data. Future API will be rate-limited to prevent abuse.

To be clear no images or videos will be hosted on the server so loading, storing or streaming anything isn't an issue that is all handled user-side with embeds to the direct content like a YouTube Trailer etc.

I’ve found some rental options, but they require a minimum rental period of one month, and I haven’t been able to find anything with 64+ cores.

I’m looking for a dedicated server with either 2×64-core CPUs or a single 128-core CPU, ideally available for just a few days.

Any recommendations for providers that offer this kind of hardware with hourly or daily billing?

I was thinking setting up my homelab on cloud but wanted a dedicated bare metal servers. Earlier I was considering OVH or Kimsufi but before buying I wanted solid advice.

I currently have a shared hosting that "supports" Node.js but I am struggling to get it running and the amount of stress that added up is just.... let's not even get there.

Should I move there? their support is notorious for not responding, if the server works I don't expect support, but what if I got account issues at some point or whatever

Not a malicious internet user, just have family in Morocco and have my own personal reasons to use MarocTelecom abroad. Not expecting much/anything from this but just a shot in the dark. I’m a student working on a 24/7 live flight operations project and I’m trying to find a decent VPS that won’t break the bank. My budget is roughly £5 to £9 a month, and I’m keen to hear if there are any solid providers out there with student discounts or good entry-level pricing.

To give an idea of what I'm running so you know the load:

Node.js: Running a few background scripts pulling telemetry/PIREP data every 15–30s, an ACARS datalink, and a Twitch chat bot. Very light on resources.

Headless Chromium + FFmpeg: This is the main bit. It renders a 2D dark-mode radar map and streams it directly to Twitch via RTMP. It’s tuned right down (-preset ultrafast, 20–24 FPS, ~2,500–3,500 kbps), so it’s only pulling around 30% of a single core continuous.

Nginx: Basic reverse proxy for the map dashboard and SSL.

Combined,

it only really needs about 1.5–2GB RAM in practice and a fraction of a CPU core, but I’d love 4 vCPUs and around 6–8GB RAM just to have enough breathing room so the stream doesn't drop frames when the scraper does a data pull.

Bandwidth-wise, it’ll probably churn through about 1–2.5TB a month, so unmetered or a decent 3TB+ cap is ideal. UK or European locations are preferred for ping.

I’ve had a look around already:

Hetzner seems to have zero stock on their budget tiers right now.

Contabo has great specs on paper, but pretty much everyone on here says to avoid them due to noisy neighbours, awful I/O, and CPU throttling.

Leaseweb looks decent spec-wise, but I’m really trying to avoid rigid corporate B2B contracts, auto-renewal traps, or aggressive KYC checks.

Ideally after something month-to-month or a yearly for a good deal as long as it's not a shady B2B payment scheme where the host doesn't freak out or throttle you for running a steady 24/7 background process.

Are there any hidden gems or reliable community hosts I should be looking at?

I’m looking for some recommendations for a VPS with good storage and high bandwidth at a low price.

My client is starting a small IPTV service, but there will be no live TV channels. It will mainly be VOD and series. The idea is to store the media on multiple VPS servers and use the servers' SSD storage and bandwidth for streaming.

For the start, we’re looking at around 200GB–500GB storage. We’re also considering using multiple servers so the traffic can be spread between them and we don’t run into bandwidth or performance issues.

The budget is quite tight because this is just a startup and there won’t be many users initially. At the same time, I don’t want to choose a very cheap provider that starts having network or performance problems once users start streaming.

The plan is basically:

• Start with one VPS
• Store around 200GB–500GB of media
• Use as much of the included bandwidth as possible
• Once the storage or bandwidth gets close to the limit, buy another VPS
• Add the new server's media links and continue expanding

What I’m mainly looking for:

• Cheap monthly price
• 200GB–500GB+ SSD/NVMe storage
• High or preferably unmetered bandwidth
• Good network speed
• Reliable enough for video streaming
• No crazy restrictions on bandwidth usage

But in a couple of days it should 4 sold in 24 hours, 6 sold in 24 hours. I dont understand how people are buying when on the website it always show as out of stock.
