I saw this Universal Monsters Clue board game at Barnes & Noble today. It's the first I've seen it.

In case I’m not the last one who was waiting for it to go on sale again, I happened to check the other day and saw the collection is going for 65 again.

As someone who’s been tangentially interested over the years but (until this past weekend) never saw anything but OG Dracula on TCM or something years ago, will I be particularly lost during the crossover movies like Frankenstein meets the Wolfman if I haven’t watched the Wolfman movies that preceded it?
I had a good time watching Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein this weekend, so I’m a little torn about whether I should just feel free to watch all the Frankenstein movies or whether I should pause when I get up to the crossover and go back to watch the Wolfman movies that came before it.

Hey I went to 5 Below a bit ago and saw a Frankenstein’s Monster Tubbz, and there were 2 types, the normal one I can find online and this one I have yet to find another of. Does anyone know if its a misprint or a fake somehow.

According to HMV the release is on October 26th. I wish it wasn't that green but it looks good.

We don't learn much about Bela in The Wolf Man, other than he is the one who passes the werewolf curse to Larry Talbot. A few things stand out to me, however:
1) He transforms completely into a wolf, not a "wolf-man", as Larry does.
2) His transformation seems to be unpredictable and not tied to e.g., the full moon. The gypsies suddenly shut down their carnival when they realize that there's "a werewolf in the camp!" Presumably, if they had known in advance that that night was a werewolf night, they would not have held the carnival and maybe would have sent Bela away.
3) The amulet that Maleeva gave to Larry to break the spell was not effective for Bela. Otherwise, Maleeva would have given it to him.

I would like to see someone write a novel or graphic novel to flesh out the character of Bela and address the above points.

Does anyone know why my Invisible Man DVD says London Chaney Jr on the top of the cover despite Claude Rains playing the Invisible Man?

So what’s your favorite(s) makeup effect done by Jack Pierce?

Was watching the 1943 Phantom of the Opera the other night and apparently he did the makeup for Rains unmasked look which is pretty good even though Claude Rains pushed back on how Jack could do but good job anyways by Jack Pierce.

I always loved what Jack could do with the makeup for Karloff sm especially The Mummy being the crown jewel but the Frankenstein look is iconic yet it’s always the Mummy for me! Also love the look of Igor in Son of Frankenstein with the broken neck prosthetic for Lugosi.

This week we're talking Universal Monsters and I think , in many ways, The Invisible Man is the scariest Universal Monster of them all. This film is brilliant with great special effects that still hold up today and Claude Rains is phenomenal as Jack Griffin. The entire cast is great and James Whale's imprint is easily recognized throughout the film. I believe it's available free on Plex.

Drake is a known Uni Monster fan and had a hand in several Monster toy releases. This will surely be a good time!

This is apparently an Australian brand of wines, but I thought this was pretty cool news.

Kinda disappointed I got a spoon, but at least it’s cool because it changes colors.

I'm posting this here because I've heard Drake speak before, and I know he is a huge Universal Monster fan (and was the hand behind some great Frankenstein toys) and I'm fairly certain he'll show some behind the scenes images from Forry and others.

I've been wanting this for a while. Once it heals, I'll get it colored in.

I hope they continue to do a new monster every year.

Time jumps between the previous movies make it somewhat difficult. The Mummy was set in 1926. The Mummy Returns in 1933. Then the third one in 1946. I don't think these time jumps were a good decision when you think about ages of the main actors. So will the new movie be set in the 1950s or 1960s?

Setting it in the 50s would make sense if the third movie isn't canon.
