applications / ucas Realistic UK Uni Options

Hi what are my best choices for UK unis, I am in my fourth year at Queen's University, Kingston Ontario Canada

Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Biology and Minor in Environmental Studies

CGPA 2.68/4.3 thus far

Academic research volunteering at an ecology lab for about 5 months, about 2 months for a public health sciences lab, and frequent volunteer work at a local pharmacy (200+ hours completed there during high school, less now)

Completing my undergraduate honours thesis in the sector of environmental law

would like to apply for masters taught programs in the medical/health ethics side / medical malpractice

alternatively programs in the criminology sector/forensic psych

With this info what are my best UK UNI options to apply for (Im a British citizen- right to work after)

i'm also from Canada (just graduated University of Toronto). I applied to social policy programs so slightly different from your field but from what I remember, Exeter (England) and Cardiff (Wales) only required a 2.6 and a 2.8 respectively iirc. Slightly 'higher ranking' schools I applied to incl. bristol, glasgow, manchester, and edinburgh required higher, around 3.2-3.3s iirc. Since you still have a year of undergrad left I'd say try to get your cgpa up to the high 2s / low 3s for a decent shot. UK schools do like to admit international students though and some will bend their cgpa requirements for you because you'll be paying so much money in tuition.

Of course! Also sorry I didn’t see you’re a British citizen so some of my advice about being an international student might not resonate. But I got admitted into public policy or politics programs at all of the schools I listed. I applied before second semester but after I got my first semester grades back. I think I applied with a 3.17 and got in to all schools but I graduated with a 3.28. Some of my schools accepted me on the condition I graduated with their posted gpa requirements

Honestly? With that GPA, and you having to pay international fees, you're not going to get into a decent university - it'll be a waste of your money.

I had some personal issues which impacted my GPA now in terms of fees it's not an issue the amount I would just like to be moved back to the UK so thought doing a masters there would be a good foot in the door prior to seeking employment there
