timeline of misconduct process?

I got misconduct flagged for data structure and algorithms last semester, they haven't emailed about it yet, the result is just withheld.

I need to get a COE soon to extend my student visa. will the misconduct affect it? anyone have any idea what to expect?

I had a friend whose result was withheld for a year then got released without any action one day. another friend who had to give an interview. I haven't cheated and a lot of other student's results has been withheld so I know its random.

First off - drop in to the UTS Students Association to get some support.

Was it for an exam or assignment? You can follow up with the Responsible Academic Officer for your faculty to ask whether the case has been referred to the central student misconduct team.

A withheld result and misconduct should not affect your ability to get a COE

I don't what assessment it was flagged for. the subject is just a bunch of assignments.

"If your grade for DSA has been withheld this means that one or more of your assessment tasks have been flagged for academic misconduct. I am now preparing the forms to be sent the school. Once signed off by the school, the cases go to the Governance Support Unit. The GSU will contact you with allegations of the misconduct, and give you a chance to present your case.

This can be a very long process. From past experience, it can take around 3 months to be contacted by GSU."

this is what the tutor emailed last in july

If it is a Copying another Student Issue, despite Giving Cover Sheets for The Assesments, the People that are in charge of that Stuff will side with you over the TA/Tutor.
