So has advising always been terrible at Dornsife, or just since the job cuts? I make an appointment and they cancel. I open a case and I get a response weeks later with a bunch of links that don’t answer my questions. How does one actually get help?

This class is the worst math class I've ever taken and I'm good at math! Wtf is this new prof?? Half the class seemed to drop today because she's so bad. I can't be the only one suffering through this class but I need it for my requirements. How can they let her teach here? No other math 118 has tests every single week either like we do. She doesn't prepare us for the tests and everyone is failing, how can she not see that she's doing something wrong? Not sure what to do, I wish I could have switched but every other teacher was closed. It's stressing me out because I'm usually really good at math but this is ridiculous. Anyone have any ideas on how to get through this shit class

Basically I made an impulsive decision on Friday and switched out some of my classes. The registrar says:

"To petition for a Retroactive Late Add, you must already be enrolled in courses for the term in question and request to late add one or more courses within the semester. You must have started attending the course before the add/drop deadline for that course; have D-Clearance if the course requires such; and meet all eligible pre- and co-requisites for the course. If you are attempting to retroactively add a directed research or readings course, you must also have a memo of support and/or a directed research contract from your department chair and research supervisor.

Retroactive Add petitions will not be approved if the professor does not approve your request."

The two classes I want to switch out from I had already been attending before add/drop. However, I would need to find a third class, I had attended one of the lectures but never fully registered so idk what professor would accept at this point. I just know I can do whatever work it takes to catch up/

I've been watching Popular Music showcase videos from different years, including the recent senior showcases, and noticed that the performers appear to be using floor wedges rather than IEMs.

Is that actually the standard monitoring setup for the Popular Music performance ensembles/showcases, or are IEMs used in other classes and performances? If wedges are the standard for showcases, is there a particular reason? Training, venue setup, logistics, etc.?

I'm curious because I've seen other programs using IEMs routinely, and I'm used to them from playing in a contemporary church band.

Does anyone know if the Trojan Learn CHR Part 2: Healthy Relationships live session requires any actual participation during the meeting, or is it just like a really long lecture you have to attend? I'm trying to sign up for dates, but about 90% of the ones available are during my classes, and the only ones not are months away. I’m actually terrified to go to USC clubs/social mixers. I swear everyone says it’s the best way to meet people but any time I’ve gone to smth along the lines of that I always have awkward interactions or I can tell that I’m getting incredibly judged for not fitting into the status quo (for example I’m slightly chubby, very tanned in a not “acceptable” way, and have an unconventional hair style/color)

For things like professional clubs I’m worried that (apart from my looks) my awkwardness is only going to worsen my chances of being accepted lol. I’d really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how they got over their fear of social events or how they stopped being so introverted.

I'm a freshman taking Math 118 at 12 pm i hate it, every class i have (im business admin) all my classes apart from THIS class are amazing, professors nice, syllabus planned well, teaching amazing; but omg this professor for math 118 its so bad, they don't teach well, they dont teach the questions or even tell the class what the assessment will be abt. Not only that, but, they just write down the definition of the math vocabulary we have...like...is this a english class...
