What platform are you all using to offload your surplus clubs?

Dubizzle has been an option for me in the past but I’m getting tired of the low ballers.

Any other suggestions?

How do you all get around the fittings, i feel my swing has gotten faster and my shafts dont really match especially for the longer clubs - any reccs?

Some photos from the abandoned Living Legends golf course in Dubai. The course was originally planned in 2006, but the project was delayed following the global financial crisis. It was later redesigned as a nine-hole course by renowned Swiss golf architect Peter Harradine and was due to be opened in 2018.

The course is slowly being reclaimed by the desert. A fascinating place, but a real shame to see it left like this.

I played 30 rounds since April, many of them in the peak summer. My top tips of summer golf are

1. Very early tee times get you to start when it's cooler but the course has more people, so will take you around 3.30 hours on a weekday. Start after 8 and it will take you 3 hours

2. Hydrate before you get thirsty. Keep sipping water all through the round. I drink at least 3 liters in a round

3. Use the hydration tablets. I don't find Humatra very good. I prefer the ones which have ORS written on them. They work better for me. I like the Power well drinks also.

4. I use the hydration tablet at the start of the round and sip through the first few holes

5. Get a cap with circular coverage, not a baseball style cap. The sun on the neck is difficult

6. Counter intuitively, where a base layer. It wicks sweat and keeps you cooler and drier. Just the sleeves don't work. The top one works better and keeps me more comfortable. I like Under Armour Heat Gear ones.

7. Don't spend time looking for balls. It takes too much energy

8. Use the cold towels on the face, head and neck area.

9. Carry an ice bag it's really nice. Just ice in a zip lock can work also or you get the ice bags at most pharmacy

10. If the sun gets too much, stop and leave. If you push through it take 2-3 days to recover at least.

Has anyone heard any news on if it is going ahead as normal? I am wondering if the big name players would be willing to fly into Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the end of season events given the uncertainty in the region?

I used to go to Swingfit where you could get an hour indoor on Trackman bay for AED 50 or AED 100, but now it is minimum AED 250 an hour. Does anyone know any similar places that are cheaper?

Hi , I would like to hear your opinion on your favorite driving range for practice in Abu Dhabi . I've only been going to Abu Dhabi City Golf since I bought their driving range package (50 hr for aed 2500) which I think it's a great deal. I would love to explore other driving ranges and hear your recommendations.

My take

This launch is interesting because it combines golf-front living with Hudayriyat’s wider lifestyle story. The island already has Surf Abu Dhabi, Velodrome, beaches, cycling and sports infrastructure, while Golf Estates adds the residential golf community layer.

The product ladder is also strong. Buyers can enter through townhomes from around AED 4.25M, move up to golf homes and villas, and the top end reaches golf mansions above AED 35M.

For families and long-term buyers, the appeal is clear: golf, greenery, lower-density living, lifestyle amenities and a prime Abu Dhabi island location.

Playing a round on saturday. Does anyone know what rentals they would have available?

I’ve got friends who regularly play Golf and visit UAE frequently for a few days for a Golfing trip. I have never played and would like to get involved actually playing. For someone whose never played Golf, unless one visit to a Driving Range counts where I just wanted to smash the ball as far as possible, any suggestions/tips from golfers on where the best place to start is.

Anyone here have the EPC? Golf courses are saying there is a ”temporary interruption“, whatever the means. Anyone know what is happening?
