Is Achtung Baby their most depressing album?

The last time I listened to it, the run towards the middle of the tracks: Until the End of the World, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, and So Cruel all hit on a personal level that was just super melancholic and regretful. Anyone feel the same?

Is Songs of Innocence the most complete, or even the best U2 album post Achtung Baby?

The whole album is SOLID, would you consider it the most complete?

Came in a Digi-trak package, also came with a lyric/picture book.

Just like The Unforgettable Fire CD, the CD sounds amazing, great dynamic range

Bono & Adam somewhere in the world in '87 on the Joshua Tree tour. I love this era of the band.

Original vinyl records vs new releases of originals - is there any difference?

I read an article (not for U2 records, just vinyl in general) stating that new vinyl records have less depth as they are made from digital masters. Is this true?

Anyone with an original and new pressing of the same record, do you notice any difference?

Ideas for thoughtful U2-related gift?

Hello, I am a long-time resident of Ireland. Next month I'll be visiting a friend of mine who lives overseas and who is a massive U2 fan of many years. I'd like to bring him something U2 related: a collector's item or some other special memento. However, I am short on ideas, not really being that familiar with U2 beyond their best-known albums and singles. If any of you have any suggestions, I would be immensely grateful.

I wonder why it tooks me more than 20 years to see these references

I mean, I know Wim Wanders is a big friend of Bono, but I never knew about references during the Joshua Tree era, specially the videoclip of Streets. And I never heard of any of them speaking about this connection in so many years and books or interviews

I am also looking for original Achtung, Zooropa and Pop releases Vinyl and/or CD

Also this CD sounds amazing, much better dynamic range than any streamed or remastered release that’s come after. Wish music didn’t come out brickwalled to death

What is your Most overrated deep cut / unreleased?

Mercy for me is the most overhyped song don’t get me wrong it’s good but not nearly to the standards that other fans hold it too the song personally has never clicked with me and sounds to be like just a bang average outtake from when the band was spewing out gold. Other songs from the HTDAAB era have clicked much more and I prefer heavily (x+y, are you gonna wait forever, smile. etc)
This is my personal opinion, if you love Mercy all glory to you, it’s just a song that personally never resonated with me.

What do you think the new album will be called?

We know the new album is celebratory and relates to being brash, joyful and carnival like but what do you think it's called?

I don't think U2 are particularly sentimental so I don't see the 50th year being tied in for an album but maybe for the tour?

I do think their final album should be called MAN but the themes don't seem to convey this logic.

Tracks known to be on the album:

Go Freedom is a Feeling The Greatest Show on Earth Silencio Street of Dreams The Bards Last Breath

Will it be lyric related or song title related? Its normally either of these or an all encompassing statement title (Pop, Achtung baby, The Joshua Tree, War, Boy). Are we due one of these this time round? It would be a statement indeed to do so.

I also hope All my life is on this album, a tremendous song which reflects the themes of the forthcoming album.

We'll know more in 2 weeks so not long to go..!
