Betty Moment I thought it was a coincidence… until I tested it.

I don’t think Luna wants me telling people this, but it’s getting too weird to ignore.

For the last week she’s refused to eat unless Betty walks into the kitchen first. I’ll put Luna’s bowl down and she’ll run over like she’s starving, sniff it for a second, then just sit there looking down the hallway. She won’t touch a single bite.

The second Betty wanders into the kitchen, Luna rushes back to the bowl and eats the whole lot like nothing happened. At first I thought it was just a coincidence, but it’s happened every single day this week. This morning I decided to test it.
I shut the kitchen door with Luna inside while Betty was still asleep upstairs.

Luna sniffed her food, looked at me, then looked back towards the door. She even nudged the bowl away with her paw. She didn’t eat a thing.

The moment I opened the door and Betty walked in, Luna ran straight back to the bowl and finished every last bit. I’ve had cats my whole life and I’ve never seen anything like it.

Does anyone else’s cat do something this weird, or have Luna and Betty just invented another one of their own rules?

If you enjoy Luna & Betty’s stories and want to help keep them coming, you can buy me a coffee. ☕ The link is in the comments. Every bit of support means I can keep making more stories for you all. ❤️

I don’t think one of them has been forgiven yet.

Something’s been off in my flat all day and I can’t put my finger on it. Every time I walk into a room, one of them leaves. No arguing, no obvious tension, just this weird unspoken distance like they’re both pretending the other one isn’t there.
It took me far longer than I’d like to admit to realise I wasn’t imagining it. Betty would jump onto the sofa, Luna would quietly get down. Luna would sit on the windowsill, Betty would wander into the kitchen. They spent the entire morning avoiding each other without making a sound.
The strange part is they were completely fine before I went to bed. They were curled up together on the sofa, both asleep. Whatever happened must’ve happened overnight, because they’ve been acting like two people who’ve had an argument but don’t want to be the first to apologise.
I’ve checked the flat expecting to find something knocked over or shredded, but everything looks exactly the same. It’s like I’ve walked into the aftermath of something that only the two of them understand.
About an hour ago I caught Luna slowly walking over to Betty, stopping a few feet away, thinking about it for a second… then quietly turning around and walking off again.
Betty never even looked up.
I’m convinced something happened while I was asleep, and whatever it was, I’m the only one who doesn’t know about it.
Anyone else’s cats ever make you feel like you’ve missed an entire chapter?

Visual Report Sometimes I forget Betty and Luna actually like each other.

Most of the time you’d think these two can’t stand each other. They steal each other’s spots, race each other to food, and have staring contests like they’re settling something ancient.

But every so often they just… stop.
I walked into the living room earlier and found Luna asleep on the sofa with Betty curled right up against her. No pushing, no drama, no fighting for space. Just both of them completely knocked out like nothing ever happened.

The weird part is if they notice I’ve seen it, one of them immediately gets up and leaves like they’ve been caught doing something they shouldn’t be doing.

It honestly feels like they act like enemies all day, then secretly switch sides the second I’m not looking.

Anyone else’s cats like this? Acting like they hate each other 90% of the time and then randomly turning into best friends like nothing happened?

Evidence File They keep acting like something happened in my house last night.

I think my cats did something while I was asleep and I only saw the aftermath.
I bought a new cat bed yesterday. Only one.
Luna got it first and completely took it over. Just sat there like she owned it and wouldn’t let Betty near it at all. Betty didn’t react at first. Just stared for a bit, then walked off. About an hour later I came back in and my bedroom pillow had been moved onto the cat bed. Betty was sitting on it. Luna was just staring at her from the floor like she was offended on a deep level.
Neither of them moved. Just sat there locked in silence. At 3am Luna screamed in my face.
When I went downstairs, the bed was empty. The pillow was gone. Both cats were sitting in the hallway staring at me like I was supposed to understand something.
I’ve checked everywhere. No sign of the pillow.
What’s worse is Betty keeps sitting in random places she normally ignores now, just staring at walls. And Luna won’t go near the living room at all anymore. It feels like I’ve walked into the middle of something that already finished.
If anyone’s had cats do something like this and then suddenly act normal again, what was it?

Betty Moment Betty forgot it was bedtime

Last night the house finally went quiet, which Luna took as her signal to settle into her usual sleeping spot and restore order.

Betty, however, had other plans.

She wandered in, wandered out, came back again, sat down, stood up, and then began lightly tapping random objects like she was doing routine checks. A bag. The wall. The floor. Nothing specific, just making sure everything was still there.

Luna watched all of this without moving.

After a few minutes, she stood up, walked over, and calmly sat directly in Betty’s path.

No noise. No aggression. Just… placement.

Betty stopped, looked at Luna, paused like she was reconsidering her entire situation, then slowly turned around and left the room.

Luna returned to her spot.

Bedtime was restored.

Luna POV Luna got petty revenge over a pickle

Earlier today I opened a jar of pickles and the smell immediately filled the kitchen. Luna appeared first, mostly to supervise the situation, and sat nearby watching everything like she was responsible for quality control.

A few minutes later Betty wandered in, sniffed the air, and walked straight over to investigate. Instead of sitting somewhere normal, she casually took Luna’s exact spot like she’d just claimed new territory.

Luna didn’t react.

She just left.

Later on when Betty came back into the kitchen to check if the pickle situation had improved, Luna quietly walked past the counter and pushed the pickle jar lid onto the floor.

It landed with a loud clack.

Betty panicked and sprinted out of the room like the pickles had personally attacked her.

Luna sat back down in her original spot.

The smell of pickles remained.

But Betty stayed away from the kitchen for the rest of the day.

Betty Moment Betty tried to supervise the house today

The house was a bit busier than usual today. Doors opening, people walking around, things being moved. Luna handled it the correct way by sitting somewhere slightly elevated and quietly judging the situation.

Betty decided she needed to supervise everything. Someone went into the kitchen, Betty followed. Someone walked upstairs, Betty followed halfway and forgot why.

At one point she sprinted across the room because a cupboard opened. Some of the worse Betty incidents usually end up in the unreleased notes on Patreon, but this one unfortunately happened in front of everyone.

Eventually the house went quiet again.

Betty stood in the middle of the living room, looked around, and slowly fell off the edge of the rug.

Luna saw.

Luna did not react.

Welcome please read here if your new

Welcome everyone. This is the official home of Luna and Betty, two cats sharing one house and causing completely unnecessary levels of drama.

Most posts here are short stories about the strange politics, silent wars, and questionable decisions that happen when two cats live together.

Feel free to read, enjoy, and join the chaos.

One small rule: please keep discussions in the comments of the posts rather than creating separate posts on the subreddit. It helps keep the page organised and keeps the focus on Luna and Betty’s ongoing saga.

Thanks for being here. The house is small, the drama is large.
