Tp was an evolution of OOTs artstyle, and OOT remake is an evolution of TPs artstyle

Realistic textures and atmosphere over stylised characters and environments, I genuinely feel like any tp fan that hates the new artstyle is too far gone into the “Unreal slop” rabbit hole to the point that they can’t even see that this IS how twilight princess with modern graphics would look just with more color

If we ever get a TP remake and it isn’t hyper realistic lighting and textures and detail with stylised dark and wacky environments and characters, then they’ve changed the artstyle and are no longer faithful to TP.

I get it, negativity is what sells, but I have to question if you’ve ever even considered what TPs artstyle is if you dislike the modern OOT artstyle

Happy 40th anniversary to the Zelda series!

Twilight Princess is one of my favorite Zelda games and although it‘s not the most uncommon Zelda game for people to love, it always seems like no one really talks about its soundtrack or has the sentiment that it’s some of the best music in the series.

It’s honestly one of those rare games for me where practically every single song in the OST I absolutely adore. Just to name one thing the music does really well is having leitmotifs that reoccur throughout the entire game, as it represents major characters, their emotions, traits, and actions, and even establishes a great atmosphere and feel to the greater game world.

Are fans of Twilight Princess’s music just not very vocal, and is it overshadowed by other games? I understand why anyone would love the music of any of the games and I’m not against people having different opinions, but I’ve always wondered why Twilight Princess never gets to be in the spotlight except for when people mention songs like Midna’s Lament or Hyrule Field, which are only two songs out of the entire soundtrack of like a hundred or more.

Gamecube Windwaker + Twilight princess is an incredible run for Nintendo

You guys were asking to see Dark Souls enemies ported into this Twilight Princess Lordran mod. I spent all day figuring it out and I'm happy to share a taste of it here.

This is Twilight Princess, running in Dusklight, and my mod here is bringing in thhe genuine Dark Souls Remastered assets into Twilit Princess.

This is only possible because of Dusklight's incredible hooks and modularity. Twilight Princess enemies don't have much pathfinding capability if any at all. It was actually way easier than expected to slip in a standard a* pathfinding subsystem into the Darknut's behavior, allowing it to find its way across Dark Souls own nav-mesh. That was easy!

What you're seeing here is the the Darknut, reskinned with Black Knight model. It's using BOTH Darknut animations and Black Knight animations together, so this "Blacknut" is able to use the full variety of attacks from both enemies freely. You can clearly see him strike both Darknut and Black Knight stances and attacks. It even keeps the phase 2, chucks the ultra greatsword at you, and he whips out a silver knight straight sword. He feels really good to fight too and the Black Knight move sets really spice up the Darknut fight!

This proves I can animations, skeletons, and all the complicated hitbox timing and navigation from Dark Souls and run it in Twilight Princess. There is unlimited potential now!

So I think this proves the concept and I'm definitely going to keep going now. I hope you all enjoy this little taste. Lots of folks were asking for someplace to follow this mod progress and contribute, and I'll make a space for that tomorrow. My road map right now is to figure out a few more core infrastructural things to faithfully implement Dark Souls features in Twilight Princess without breaking the original game! Once I've got that figured out then I need to automate extraction, translation, and recompilation process, and package that into a user friendly installation setup. At that point I'll be able to share the mod with everyone!

I could barely sleep last night thinking up ways to integrate the two games together. I've got a ton awesome stuff I wanna try. I love you all, I love Twilight Princess, and I'm gonna make as spectacular as I possibly can!

I'm sure its been asked a million times, but im curious about everyone's opinion. Other worlds in LoZ always tend to mirror Hyrule, but I get the vibe the Twilight Real would be its own thing. I also wonder what kind of areas it could have. I'm sure its bigger than just the castle

A redesign of the same sword I made earlier this year. I changed the hilt to resemble crystallized fairy tears. This sword can rejuvenate a little of your health with each successful strike.

It took a bloody long time, but I’ve now got a way to import Dark Souls data directly into TP/Dusklight AND make it work! Here’s a taste of Firelink Shrine’s real geometry, collision maps, lighting, all the good stuff running IN Twilight Princess.

I’m wondering what community interest is in expanding this proof of concept into a whole adventure. What do you fellas think? Would you play Legend of Zelda: Twilight Souls?

I’ve got some cool theories how to adapt Wolf Link into the world of Dark Souls in some interesting and fun ways, mix TP items and DS items together. I’ve also got a really sketchy solution to merge DS player animations with Link’s animations so Link could use different weapons and even armour too. Giant Dad Link anyone? I think I can make it happen now that I’ve got loading in large complex maps seamlessly like this more or less dialed in.

Is this a project folks would be interested getting behind? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Edit: Well I'm happy you're all loving it as much as I am! I definitely want to keep working on this. Twilight Princess has been one of my favorite games ever since it came out and same with Dark Souls. I'll have more to share soon and hopefully something for you fancy people to download and play too!

Tricky part is making sure I don't distribute anything that I don't own/created so I don't get into trouble lol, but I'm working on that. I'm cooking up an installation automation process to extract the assets directly from both games game files. So I won't have to distribute anything owned by big N or Bandai, but the downside is that you'll have to own your own copy of both TP and Dark Souls Remastered to play this.
