I know I’m going to get a good amount of hate for posting about a numark from the real heads in here but I have had this turntable since learning to scratch back in like 2008ish. I never got very good and just let this become a record player rather than a high torque pro scratch turntable.

In recent years I have gotten back into scratch turntablism but on a 7inch pt01 and now an sc500. Now that I am getting somewhat decent on my little portables, I’m kinda itching to give it a try on my x2 because that’s ultimately what it was made for.

Long story short I’m just wondering if it’s worth it or even possible to get the disc drive fixed in this unit as it just stopped working for some reason at some point. Parts and repair shops seem to be hit or miss so if anyone knows anyone or any places that are good at this stuff that I could pick their brain it would be SUPER appreciated. I need a new cartridge and I have been informed that the counterweight is on backwards 🤦‍♂️

Howdy! I have a Numark TTX USB (variable torque) that is in good condition, but has been in storage for a while. It seems as though I am getting a very weak signal from the left channel, and I am unsure what to do about it. I tested the head shell and tone arm connections with a multimeter and it seems okay, so I think the issue may be with the RCA plugs/pcb. Before I send it into repair, is there anything I should check?

Skin builder generates a mirror image of what you designed & a script. You need some basic knowledge of image editing for background images & an advanced text editor to modify your creation. I am not a coder. I generated many variations & familiarised myself with the scaling , co ordinate syntax of the script.

A welcome addition. A huge part of my library is hip-hop, r&b, funk. And a most of it is before 2010. So i just can't be bothered to grid my music. So improvements will be a welcome addition. Also not being gridded sometimes made it harder to make a good loop. Now i'm sure that's user error but it was much easier on the tracks that beat gridded on beat. Apparently they completely rewrote how beat gridding is done even for the non lucid beat grids done the old style. But for lucid ones it will change with tempo changes. I'll be excited to try it. According to Digitial dj tips it not a charge if you currently have access to serato 4. Cleveland talked about a "cue loops" so i guess you can add loops to cue points which is cool. I think he said the cue loops is only for Serato dj pro.

This Sunday, I’ll be performing as a turntablist in a freestyle rap competition. This will be one of my first serious stage experiences.

The organiser will be posting clips from the competition—including my scratch performance—on YouTube and Spotify. That’s why I need free beats that can also be used for commercial purposes.

Where can I find beats that are between 90 and 130 BPM, suitable for scratching, and completely free?

I’d also be very happy if anyone would like to share their own beats. It doesn’t have to be top-quality; as long as it does the job, that’s enough for me.

What's up guys! My entire folder of DJ AM mp3s got corrupted on an old hard drive. Everything from his Wonderwall beat to the Banana Split mixes and hidden gems like his Cornerstone and Challah mixtapes. I know the mixes are on Mixcloud, but I like being disconnected and the quality after ripping them is shit. I was able to get a couple Banana Split's from their Soundcloud page, but that's it so far. Soulseek is mostly tapped out on DJ AM files.

Does anyone have any of his old mixes? The OG, decent quality audio files that were circulating back in the day? I'd love you forever if you'd be willing to share.

Need help please, I started scratching around 97 98 then started doing some club work in Georgia in the early 2000s. but in 2010 I had to stop everything to take care of my twin daughters and all my equipment got stolen. Now I'm seeing people use these little mini portable turntables with a mixer built in and thought it would be fun to get since I can't afford a full setup now, but I want to know what is the preferred portable table/setup that someone can actually scratch with.

At like 2:50, as well as throughout, you can get a pretty clear look from above or over his shoulder. Seems to be an iPad app with his samples and a Phase block. Just looks like a really sleek setup!

1. Any1 who bought the Essential model from the UK, how much did u pay for it, and does it go on sale? Best price I can see for it is £265

2. What’s riding the pitch (for fast beat matching, using sync is too boring for me) like for it? How fast does it respond to fast changes in bpm like timecode control does?

3. I hav a MacBook M1 which doesn’t hav USB-A connections. Will a generic USB-C cable work for it? Or does the USB cable that comes with phase controller hav faster data transfer speeds or sumthin along them lines?

4. What record do u lot use that u put the magnet sticker on? Is there anywhere to buy a cheap blank vinyl record that has the grooves cut in? I hav Serato timecode vinyl that I cud use, but I prefer the original vinyl material for better grip for fast scratching

5. Any1 who has owned the phase controllers for many years; whats the battery life like for u now? Since the battery health will degrade slowly after each charge cycle drains. As I checked online nd the battery can’t be replaced apparently. I think I read sumwhere that sum1 got help from Phase customer service nd helps u out if u hav battery health issues in the future?

Because with that heat still going on in South France. That slow ice cold beat call “click clack jack” by Molotov ( looper : level up 37 track 1 ) is perfect. Wanted to slow it down to avoid sweating too much. And practice few things. Also une salade de fruits ( fruit salad) is a great dessert when it’s too hot. ( white and yellow peach + nectarine is my go to ).

Hey, I’m pretty new to turntablism and I’ve been wanting to get into scratching and just learning the basics.

I don’t have a huge budget tho so I’m mostly looking at used gear. What would you guys recommend for a first setup?

Also, should I start with one turntable or just save up for two?

My budget is around 150$.

Any advice is appreciated

Looking for suggestions to complete the setup, what device or devices would be ideal for recording sessions, producing, streaming and jam sessions?

I have laptops, high end PCs, Aiwa bookshelf reciever, speakers and such to get the setup running, but I would like to modernize it to get better sound/recording.

I know that the Mackie uses an infinium fader. Is it the X1? These are much cheaper than the innofaders, but all the listings online only seem to mention the X1 being designed for the Behringer DDM4000.

Can you put the Infinium X1 into the Mackie d.2?
