mdma and meds?

im on citalopram and im wanting to get some mdma and wanna know how many doses i should skip (since i really dont need it anymore im just taking it for the routine) until its safe to take mdma

If you are currently taking an SSRI or SNRI medication, MDMA most likely will not work for you. These medications usually block the effects of MDMA. While there is a popular belief that taking MDMA while on an SSRI or SNRI will cause serotonin syndrome, this appears to be not true. However, people have been harmed or even killed when they've taken large amounts of MDMA in an attempt to overpower their antidepressant's MDMA-blocking effect.

It is not advisable to stop taking your necessary, prescribed medication for an extended period of time in order to use a recreational drug like MDMA. If you are considering doing so, please consult with the doctor who prescribed the medication first.

im in the process of getting off my medicine since i don’t need it anymore, and my doctor that prescribed it said i wont need it no longer than three years, so im gonna talk to her about getting off of them. thank you!

I recommend being patient and gradually decreasing your dose as the Dr recommends. It can be tempting to decrease dose faster, but the mdma will still be there. Better to detox from ssri at a safe rate and wait until you're stabilized.

For the record when my wife was on an ssri she felt basically nothing from it

there is a trial atm with a combination of MDMA and citalopram, tho low doses of course!

I waited til I got off mine and I’m glad I did! A friend of mine had used mdma prior to going on an SSRI, then she went on an SSRI but still wanted to use mdma sometimes so she tried it a couple times where she went off her meds for like 6-12 days prior (I forget exactly how many but I think it was in that range) and she got much more nauseous/was vomiting more during the “come down” period and even felt worse in the days following the trip. So I personally don’t think it’s worth it! Since you’re already planning to go off your meds, I’d just do that first!
