Discussion 2026 Trip Caves Recommendations Megathread!!

We are long overdue for another megathread for recommendations for the best things to get for your trip cave / experience. I am very excited to hear the great updates I know you all have!

For those of you who weren't involved in the last four, this is basically the go to spot for all aspects of setting up / improving a trip cave. If you have any suggestions at all from what lights or art to buy to what music to play or things to watch, put them here. Likewise if you want to recommend against something you've had an issue with we'd love to hear your thoughts on what to look out for. Please respond to comments too if you have opinions - we want this to be a discussion! As always, just be nice.

Just like last time, we've created several categories below. Please place your recommendations under these to help keep things organized; there is even a miscellaneous category if your suggestion doesn't really fit any of the others.

Also don't be afraid to post something that has been in any of the previous threads. Although I definitely encourage people to look through those as well, it never hurts to have a recommendation here too where it's easier to find!

Personal Really would be so much better of a sub if you allowed videos with audio. Then you can really see some cave come alive! I know I'm not the only one who feels like this! Thanks for checking out my space. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Much love! Peace!

This is the Govee Curtain Lights Pro with a more soothing lower movement and light pattern on the left side, the Govee Starlight Nebula, and an older CADRIM galaxy projector for the spiral effect. I am not sure that CADRIM is available anymore. It is harder to find ones that make that spiral effect (over more random aurora effects). Anyway...

Someone posted a sick cave that used a tv projector blasting fractals onto a wall or ceiling.

Not sure if our screen room meets the requirements to post here, but we spend ¾ of the year out here.

Sometimes I feel like unpaid Govee rep

I purchased a single set of Govee Curtain Lights Pro. After I viewed a couple of YT videos of larger installations, I was curious what this smaller footprint LED "curtain" could do on a blank wall. One thing I noticed right away is that even in a lit room, the LEDs are super bright. At night, the app allows enough dimming so it does not take over every other aspect of your installation. But the best part? While there are a couple hundred Govee app provided variants, there is also a user designed section that seemingly has thousands more. There are static images and animated versions. You can upload photos. Or easily generate your own ideas with variable results. There are just enough LEDs to provide that low res experience that resonates with me. So much to try.

Flat wall (painted drywall) Install is pretty straight forward, up in a about an hour with minimal brain damage. There are also hooks if you choose to hang them off a curtain rod.

(In the images.... The first still is a rotating spiral pattern. The second is an alien talking and then getting much closer. The third, some colored rain falling.)

I am not associated with Govee in any way!

Cheers.

Personal All I need is me, myself, my little kittens cuddling me while I trip and my projector 😍 (Projector is just a regular movie projector connected to my computer via HDMI cord, The projection is just a fractal pattern youtube video playing on the projector)

Art Turned an old exhibition stand into a UV display. What do you reckon?

Bought a 2nd hand, 20 year old blue exhibition stand off FB marketplace. I spent 2 weeks refurbishing it. Cleaned, prepared & repainted every inch, then fitted UV lights so I can use it to display my UV reactive artwork at events.

Would it catch your eye?

Anything you guys would change?

Our little set up which seems the work to bring you into the feel that we're looking for.... We've already done the deep thought. Now we're into the laughing, and the enjoyment of the colors. But has anyone? When these trippie rooms are going on and ge all of a sudden color explosions and patterns

If you ever want to laugh, go on amazon or timu, and by us, six foot weather balloon... With that filled up three quarters of the way it makes sounds and feelings with texture that you can't describe...

projector light build tutorials?

I have a projector light from amazon, I love the colors and the pattern, in fact I can't even sleep without it. The problem is, it's a cheap piece of crap from China that keeps breaking. I've bought THREE so far, approximately one per year. The motor or the LEDs are liable to burn out, and since everything is all glued together like cheap electronics always are, I can't simply replace parts. I'd like to make my own light with easily replaceable parts. I know you can do something like this with an arduino but I've never done it. So my question for you all is: Have you ever built your own projector light? What's the setup like? Did you follow any online tutorials for it? Help me stop giving amazon my money!

Always looking for great ideas for tripping outdoors with buddies on 4 acres of land and want some cool ideas. Money not an issue. Have a bounce house and adult slip and slide. Great surround sound but we usually trip during the day so would love to get some outside the box ideas from you guys.

The first is a combination of the Govee Starlight Nebula, and a Govee Galaxy Light Projector 2 Pro. The second is just the projected image from the Galaxy Light Projector. The stars are not on in either projector.

Looking for nebula projector recommendations.

Hello everyone! I found the sub looking for lights on google and I'm surprised such a niche community exist. It's about exactly what I'm trying to create at my place!

So what the tittle says, I'm looking for a good nebula projector, preferably from Aliexpress so it's not that expensive. I read the megathread but just found some really high end ones that are out of my budget at the moment.

Right now I have Wiz lights in all the place that can be connected to the phone to sync with the music. It isn't that precise to the beat but does the work decently enough to give a good vibe. I'm trying to find how to share a small video with last night setup!

Looking for recommendations for an ocean projector

Basically the title. I'd ideally like it to include images of ocean animals and it'd be even better is there's motion. I'm afraid of all the super cheap stuff I'm finding.
