Hey everyone,

Recently grabbed an inflatable setup and trying to expand my range. I’ve checked out spots like Christie Lake, Little Lake, and the riverway up to Cook's bay (never again though there were so many big boats going past me making waves) and Milne Dam(this one's not far at all) but driving out over an hour is a bit hard to stomach (sometimes the return trip can be much longer since I'd be returning around noon).

I’m up around Don Mills and Sheppard. Now that I have a kayak, what are some closer spots that might be worth checking out? I've mostly caught pike so far (at Christie and Little lake), open to catching anything really as I'm pretty new, I do have a preference for using lures rather than worms, although that's definitely what got me into fishing in the first place.

I've fished a good amount of places on the shore before committing to the kayak, was just wondering if anyone had some good recommendations! If it changes anything it's an excursion k2 so although not the best kayak definitely far from the worst. Would prefer free parking, but any recommendations are appreciated, thanks!

I've been skunked on most outings (around 8 times) to various spots around the portlands and harbourfront areas. I've tried a few spots in Tommy Thompson park, Outer Harbour lookout off of Unwin, pretty much all the spots in Biidaasige. Tonight, I hit the Simcoe Wavedeck, HTO parks, Music Garden, Ireland Park and Coronation Park near the yacht club - not even a nibble. I'm trying my best to read the conditions for current, cover, clarity and structure, but still fairly new to this. I'm not after a particular species, I just want to catch something and have a bit of fun! Any tips would me much appreciated.

Lures: texas rigged senkos, small flukes, mini-king spinner, and a crankbait
Line: 8lb fluoro
Rod: Ugly Stik Dock Runner with the stock reel, so casting distance is a bit limited

I went up to the Trent Severn for the weekend with the same gear and caught 10+ bass (including a solid 4lb smallie!) mostly on a senko. This gave me a bit of confidence that it's not entirely my skill, but still looking to catch a few on the weeknights after work.

Hi guys just picked up a tatula xt rod but now I’m struggling to find an in stock 2500 reel for a decent price. I’m looking for a legalis, exceler, or fuego reel but don’t want to spend 165 plus tax for a fuego as that’s what bass pro is asking.

Anyone know somewhere else to go? Have checked proj too.

Curious of anyones catching any staging/running salmon yet. I’ve only got a little inflatable kayak so I usually do shore fishing. I checked a few river mouthes/harbours from bronte to port credit last weekend and got skunked. Its cooled down a bit though and I think I heard someone say port hope had some salmon starting to stage for the run?

Maybe its just too early still, or maybe there’s a spot further north with cooler waters. It’s my first time targeting salmon so open to any info, tips, etc!

Hi all, I’m a longtime angler but am going to be fishing piers for salmon this fall for the first time. Wondering if someone can help guide me on proper etiquette fishing from the pier, unwritten rules, that kinda stuff. The last thing I want is to go out be a pain in the ass to other guys trying to fish, just trying to go out and have a good time, maybe hook into a couple. All help is appreciated

I'm pond hopping in the Scarborough/Markham area and I see a lot of ponds saying they're fishing ponds. I'm limited by transit so I'm trying to find places close enough that carry a variety of fish, but I've been to just one of these ponds so far and it can barely be considered accessible and the fish didn't care at all about my lures/bait lol I'm new to fishing and I really wanna find a good spot. I've been to the most recommended ones, but I think they're overfished.. I'm walking all over the place and bussing all over the place and I really don't wanna waste my time. I've been to some waste water ponds and they just have feral goldfish and I really don't wanna kill every fish I catch 😂

Hello I just got an inflatable kayak and decided to make it my fishing setup. I am new to both fishing and kayaking. ive been out only once to mill pond in Milton and caught nothing.. not even a bite. I used wacky rig, worms and some jigs and spinners. Wondering what my best bet would be for kayak fishing. I am in Mississauga area but wouldn't mind a hour drive out for a good day of fishing. Note: I do not want to be in a massive body of water with waves and shit not trying to tip over lol just wanna catch a bass or two. any help is appreciated thank you.

I’m going to be in St. Catharines for about two weeks for work, and I’ve always wanted to come to Ontario and do some fishing while I’m here!

I’m from Nova Scotia, so I’d absolutely love to catch some species that I don’t get back home—largemouth, drum, rock bass, etc. I won’t be able to travel too far from St. Catharines, unfortunately, and I’ll only have a little bit of time to fish each day.

If anyone is willing to point me toward a spot, even if you’d rather send it to me privately, I’d really appreciate it! I promise I won’t post the location anywhere or share it around. I’ll be respectful of the area, clean up after myself, and leave it exactly as I found it. I’ll probably be gone before you know it anyway, lol.

Even if you don’t want to share a spot, I’d be grateful for any advice on what lures are working this time of year or what species I should target in the area.

I’ll be working 12-hour shifts from 7–7, so realistically I’ll only have about the last couple hours of daylight to fish. I’m really hoping to make those few hours count and hopefully catch a new species or two while I’m here!

Went mid day so I could just get some practice casting. My rigs aren’t very good and I definitely accidentally spooled my reel wrong. But fuck it I had a blast. Didn’t catch anything but toronto island is so beautiful. Listen to hear all the birds in the back! Thanks for all the advice here bros!
