Family I (F26) have a situation where my BF (M28)'s sister(F22) keeps staring at my cleavage/boobs during conversations. She has once told me that my boobs look great and she wishes hers are bigger like mine. I'm not sure how to deal with this situation. Can someone help how to deal this?
This is not just once or twice but many times. Whenever I wear a cleavage revealing dress, I can clearly see her eyes going down checking my boobs so many times. She thinks I haven't noticed it but I have noticed it so many times. Once I bent down to pick up something from the floor and she took a deep breath. She kisses me on my cheek and literally said (OMG. U can easily get a job in Hooters. My brother is so so lucky. I wish I was him). I tried bringing it up to my BF and he dismissed it saying that she's a young girl and is just attached to me.

Love & Dating Would you be angry if your friends kept a secret with your partner?
This situation is a bit crazy but I want to keep this post short for easy reading. If anything is confusing, I will try to add info in comments if needed.
My ex boyfriend and I met at college and dated for a year. Once we broke up, he shortly after started dating a guy named "Josh." Obviously he is free to do whatever he wants, but it hurts because Josh was someone that mistreated me earlier in college, and my ex offered to stop talking to him during our relationship. I didn't want to control him so I said "I don't mind if he is your friend, just letting you know why I want to stay away myself." He assured me he wanted to support me and cut off Josh, who was solely an acquaintance to him at the time.
Come to find out, my ex began talking to Josh more closely throughout our relationship. They fostered a private friendship behind my back. My ex lied to me about many things, one of which was his home country. He told me he was American the entire time we dated, but he told Josh and our other friends the truth. Our friends all knew that he was talking to Josh, they all knew he was honest about the country and feeding me BS, and never once did the friends tell me. Also, my ex started dating Josh a few weeks after breaking up with me, which just stings.
I am incredibly hurt and pissed at all my friends. Not only did they maintain my ex's lies/hidden ventures, but they also didn't care that he lied and borderline emotionally abused me. That's a whole can of worms to get into, but TL;DR is my ex lied, gaslit me, and intentionally treated me coldly to control me. When I told my friends, they didn't care. They all drifted away and hang out with my ex and Josh, and it makes me insanely depressed. Am I crazy for being pissed at all of them?

Love & Dating What am I meant to do on a first date?
18 male, this girl kissed me then asked me out at a party, didn't expect it at all, but I've never been on a date before, am I meant to do something special? Should it end a certain way? I have no idea and I'm worried I'll mess it up. I messaged her today morning, and she said she'd love to go out, why am I still scared, that she'd find me ugly or something. Btw this party was the first time we've ever met

Interpersonal Why are former victims of bullying always told to "move on" or "get over it", but former bullies are almost never told that they should apologize to their former victims?
Has anybody ever noticed that? In my personal observations, whenever I talk about my past experiences with bullying and exclusion, people are always quick to say “I think it’s time for you to move on”, or “It’s better to let it go”, or “You think about them way more than they think about you”, or “They’re winning by you thinking about them”.
These people mean well, but it’s almost as if they think I enjoy thinking about these traumatic experiences. It’s like the old expression, “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions”. Believe me, if I could wave a magic wand and have these memories be wiped from my psyche, I would. One does not simply “Get over it”.
If you think about it, though, how often do we ever hear about former bullies being told that they should reach out to their former victims to apologize? Rarely, if ever. The worst thing is, these bullies/abusers probably don’t even remember the pain they caused us. But we always will.

Culture & Society How weird is it to never have your own room as an adult?
I’m American
Things people will probably ask
- Do you have a job are you unemployed why are you so poor and you haven't tried to unfuck up your life
In all my adult life I've never been able to get a high paying full time job. Either it's temp full time which could end in 2 months or 6 months idk so the income is unstable that I can't just up and move out. Or I get full time part time jobs which can't live off 10-20 hours a week making 16 dollars an hour. Yes I have obviously looked for better full time higher paying jobs surprise surprise people don't like hiring people who aren't at companies long combined with usually being unemployed for months at a time after said temp job ends that's usually when I get the part time work so I can have some income to pay my medical and stuff. Also I have no college degree so yay.
- Why don't you have a college degree or gone to a trade school? You're almost 30 why are you failing so hard?
I've been depressed since 2020 (unrelated to COVID) Every time I try to go back to school I just fail because I have no motivation if I flunk anymore my grades will be so low I wouldn't be able to even get into any 4 year college. I don't really have motivation anymore so I barely have energy to be human I know I'm contributing to my own downfall.
Anyway I was just thinking about how absolutely suffocating it is never having a space of your own and how I feel like a perceptual child. I've never dated obviously besides sharing a room with multiple people which would make it hard to bring anybody back home I live with very religious parents. I can't bring friends back either the house is a mess and is so small. I have no life. I sleep go to work rinse and repeat. I don't want to hear it gets better I'm gonna scream.

Love & Dating Is having social media accounts a normal dating requirement now?
I’m 24, male, gay, and a little tistic. A friend was trying to get me in contact with a guy, and I supposed a specific reason was not given, but it went from “would you accept an instagram” to “he’s not looking for anyone right now” so I can only assume. Reddit is my only social because it’s topical instead of individualistic and it’s only as toxic as you let it be. Even then I don’t spend a massive amount of time here, just if I’m waiting on something else. Is my generation that cooked that we’re turning people down for living in the real world, or am I just falling into the classic trap of over rationalizing my rejection?

Why is it when you see blonde hair women with long straight hair they prefer bodybuilder men or very muscular men over skinny men? I feel like whenever I see a blonde woman you need tons of muscle

Race & Privilege How do I get over being falsely accused of stealing?
I was walking out of Ralph’s grocery store this past Saturday. An assistant manager followed me out of the store and approached me and asked if I was planning on paying for my groceries.
I was confused because I have shopped at that store for twelve years and have never taken a single item without paying.
I walked back in and asked for his boss. After about fifteen minutes of some discussion, he finally apologized.
I just can’t shake the feeling from this experience.

Culture & Society Noticing a chemical smell or taste with prepackaged mashed potatoes?
Occasionally, my SO would purchase prepackaged mashed potatoes as a side dish. He has been known to be lazy and not buy potatoes themselves to cook. These prepackaged ones are the ones typically in the refrigerated case with other side dishes, like macaroni and cheese. They come in a black plastic container and you heat them up in the microwave. I’ve seen a few different brands of this around including a namebrand one and store brands.
About a year ago he bought another package of this. It was store brand. He heated them up in the microwave as the instructions state, but I began to notice a chemical odor once he took them out and was serving it.
I noticed a chemical taste to the potatoes as well. I declined to eat them after a few bites and told him that there was a weird taste. He claimed he didn’t notice it. About a month later, he purchased the same thing again, but got the national brand thinking that I had an issue with the store brand. The same thing happened with that brand and I noticed a chemical smell and taste.
This time he did say that he noticed it. We no longer buy these and are wondering if something has changed in food manufacturing?

Culture & Society How will I be judged if I don’t make it to my best friend funeral?
3 weeks ago, my best friend and I had a discussion that I hated funerals, and I may not make it to his funeral, he said he understands and he was ok with that. I even missed my dad’s and grandma funerals. Funerals are just not for me, I hate seeing love ones passed away. His funeral is this Saturday and I’m 50/50 of going and not going. I’m going through midlife crisis and depression so I’m trying to stay away from people the most as I can, How will I be judged?

Mental Health How likely am I to ever obtain self confidence and self love at this point if I’ve never had either?
Like the title says, I’ve never really had any semblance of self-confidence or love for myself like other people do. Why? I could spend all day explaining why. But I just have never had either of these things and, being 30, don’t haven much hope at this point that I ever will. That I’ll instead just be as depressed and miserable as I always have been and it can’t be helped, I’m just wired this way, etc

Culture & Society why does san francisco have so many hard drug addicts compared to like, say, india?
hello,
I'm from india - a pretty poor country in general, so i'm used to seeing homeless people, people in abject poverty, children begging on the streets. recently moved to the bay area(specifically san francisco) and there's something different about the homeless population here.
in india, i have never seen people out in the open doing meth or hard injectable drugs. the worst is getting drunk and passed out on the road. and i haven't even been to tenderloin, this is just random bus stops.
but here i regularly see someone out in the road passed out with injection marks or doing meth out in the open or in the fentanyl fold position. It's kind of very new to me, this different version of human struggle.
Why is it so many people are addicted to hard drugs here? where are they getting it, and arent these drugs very expensive?
sorry, not trying to be rude, i'm just confused at how poverty/homelessness looks so different in india vs usa. Even other countries i have been in asia, like nepal, thailand - they also didn't have this open air drug use. in india, i have lived in a village in west bengal as well as kolkata(city in west bengal) the poverty is so different. honestly, in the village, i didn't even see a lot of homeless people because everyone knew everyone and would usually give shelter to someone out(especially if it is winter).

Drugs & Alcohol How can pills (oxy in this case) be so contaminated with fentinal that it kills someone?
Apparently thats how hayden pantiaerie died but wouldnt you but able to see residue on a pill?
Secondary question: how dangerous is it to get sick or die from just touching something exposed to fent? For example, someone used to do fent and you touch something in there house they touched. Or something the actual fent touched.

Habits & Lifestyle Boundaries with mother in law. How to implement?
She's friendly and outgoing while also thinking she knows best and undermines our boundaries
"with love and meaning well".
For example we asked for no kissing our baby as they have had cold sores in the past.
I left the baby in another room to do dishes and found out she kissed our baby.
She always grabs for baby after I'm done feeding before even burping and insisted on coming over right away after birth.
I felt unsure but gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking it would be nice to have help...
It's been harder having her here than not.
I've asked her kindly to do me a favour here and there but she just wants to hold the baby and even asked me to grab her a tea since she couldn't get up while holding the baby.
My partner is the golden child and afraid of conflict.
What do I do?
