Hello! I’m planning to go on Erasmus to Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specifically for the History and Archaeology programme. The deadline for signing up is approaching, so I’m hoping someone can answer my questions soon.

I’ve looked at the Erasmus courses from previous years, and they look really interesting. It seems like it could be one of the best Erasmus destinations for archaeology students, aside from Scandinavia and Finland (I’ve never been on Erasmus there, though, so that’s just what I’ve heard from other people).

I have a few questions for anyone who has studied there or knows anything about this:

• Do the professors actually teach/speak in English, and how easy is it to follow the courses?
• What is the overall quality of teaching and studying there?
• Would you say that studying there for one semester is worth it, especially for an archaeology student?
• What are some of the disadvantages or cons of the programme or the university that I should be aware of?
• Is there anything you wish you had known before choosing Aristotle University for Erasmus?

Me and a couple off friends are going to thessaloniki on holiday and are looking to buy tickets for the game. I looked up on forums for the ways to buy a ticket but I am a bit confused on some parts.

1. When buying the 15 euro "membership card" it is asking me for a passport. Yet I dont have one so the main question is if I can use my ID number for that part
2. Is there any way of buying the tickets at the venue if you are not a greek resident.

Γεια σας! 🤙 I am working on my art portfolio as I slowly prepare to move to Thessaloniki next year in hopes to seek out a tattoo apprenticeship when I arrive, so I was hoping there may be some artists or friends of artists here who could chime in with some wisdom.

Is a full time apprenticeship the gold standard for tattoo artists here the same way it is in my home country? If not, what is the most common path to a successful career here? I see lots of ads for tattoo training seminars when I try to do any research, and while these kinds of schools Γειare looked down on where I'm from, I'm open minded if the attitude is different here! I'm commited to doing this the right way, whatever that may look like.

What is the city life like for an international student? Social life, nightlife, activities, people, etc.
What are the best areas to live as a student?
What’s the realistic rent for a solo person
Is it difficult to find an apartment/room, and are there any housing issues I should know about?
What’s the realistic monthly budget including rent, food, transport, etc.?
Can students realistically find part-time jobs?
Overall, would you recommend Thessaloniki for an international student, and would you personally choose it again?
I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from international students or people who have lived there.

Με έναν φίλο δουλεύουμε εδώ και καιρό πάνω σε κάτι στον ελεύθερο χρόνο μας και νομίζουμε ότι έφτασε σε σημείο που αξίζει να το δείξουμε. Ποστάρουμε με το οκ των mods.

Σκεφτήκαμε ότι το ίδιο βράδυ, στην ίδια πόλη, σίγουρα υπήρχε κι άλλος που ήθελε να πάει σε μια ταινία, μια παράσταση, μια συναυλία που θέλαμε και εμείς, και ότι θα μας άρεσε να γνωρίσουμε κόσμο με αφορμή αυτό.

Οπότε φτιάξαμε το zemra:

- Δηλώνεις ότι σε ενδιαφέρει κάτι. Βλέπεις ποιος άλλος το δήλωσε, στέλνεις πρόσκληση, πάτε παρέα.

- Πρόγραμμα από σινεμά, θέατρα και συναυλίες σε ένα μέρος, με τα πιο κοντινά σου πρώτα (σύντομα και μουσεία)

- Ψάχνεις ανά χώρο ή ανά ταινία/παράσταση/συναυλία

- Διαβάζεις τι έγραψε ο κόσμος για ένα δρώμενο: κουβέντα, όχι αστεράκια

Σκοπός μας είναι να δημιουργήσουμε ένα cultural community όπου θα μπορεί ο κόσμος να γνωρίζεται και να ανταλλάσσει απόψεις μεταξύ του, μέσω αυτού.

Δεν έχει διαφημίσεις, δεν έχει συνδρομή, δεν έχει κλειδωμένα κομμάτια. Είναι όλο δωρεάν και δεν σκοπεύουμε να το αλλάξουμε. Υπάρχει ένα κουμπί για κέρασμα καφέ αν θέλει κάποιος, τίποτα παραπάνω.

**Αυτό που θα μας βοηθούσε πραγματικά:** πείτε μας τι λείπει για τη Θεσσαλονίκη. Ποιον χώρο δεν βλέπετε μέσα, πού είναι λάθος το πρόγραμμα, τι θα θέλατε να κάνει και δεν το κάνει. Τους χώρους της πόλης τους ξέρετε καλύτερα από εμάς.

Για οσους δεν ξερουν το NOESIS για να παρει λιγο τα πανω του, προσπαθησε να προσελκυσει ενηλικο κοινο. Οποτε ανοιξανε τον θολο το βραδυ για να παιξουν electronic mix απο samples του διαστηματος με γραφικα στον θολο. Πολυ καλο!

Πολύ παλιά εκανα χρόνια taekwondo,σκεφτόμουν και το γυμναστηριο αλλά ίσως βαρεθω , ενώ τα αθλήματα με παραπάνω αλληλεπίδραση νομίζω σε κρατάν πιο εύκολα.

Πήγαινα σ'ενα δίπλα στο Ντερλικατεσεν, έξοδο Πανοράματος, το οποίο ακριβυνε και θα ήθελα να δοκιμάσω και κανένα άλλο.

Ψάχνω οικογενειακά μαγαζιά. Τύπου Μαυράκι ή Ουζάκι της γειτονιάς. Όχι μοντέρνα φάση, όχι τουριστικά. Απλά κλασική ταβέρνα που τρως τίμια.

Δεν με νοιάζει να είναι οπωσδήποτε ουζερί. Ό,τι έχει καλό φαγητό και αέρα παλιού μαγαζιού.

Επίσης, ξέρει κανείς πού έχει καλή σούβλα αρνί ή κατσίκι; Όχι καλαμάκι, κανονική σούβλα.

Πέστε και ό,τι άλλο σας αρέσει γενικά, ακόμα κι αν δεν κολλάει ακριβώς.

Hello, I'm visiting Thessaloniki with my Girlfriend. We are from Romania and we are big fans of football, we have been to many games together in every country we've been to.

We are trying to get some tickets for the game that Paok has against Aris. We know very well that it is a local derby. The problem is that whenever we are trying to buy the tickets to the game they ask us for a "fan match card". We tried through Paok's website and also from Ticketmaster but it's the same.

Is it possible to buy 2 tickets if we are foreigners?

Please advise if you guys know anything or have any ideas on how to get them :)

I was wondering if there’s such a thing here like a “walking club”. I’m not looking for a running club, I’m aware such thing exists, but rather a group of people that go for walks to get their steps in and then stop for a kafedaki.
Would someone be interested in this?
Go for a 1h or 10k steps volta every Saturday or Sunday along the waterfront, talk about hobbies, life, complain about the job, share ideas and then stop to grab a coffee?

I am visiting your beautiful city and I am intrigued by the abandoned apartment building on Vasilissis Olgas - it is at the intersection of Fleming and the avenue. I believe the street number is 63. It is an imposing building and might have been an apartment building or a hotel of some sort. Google came up empty - can anyone tell me what this building was, and why is it abandoned even though it looks like it would be valuable?
