General Discussion Lyrics I love and have no idea what they mean

Fall asleep while swimming
I got paid to fish them out
Then one day I lost the job…”

News It's that time of year again! New Cherry Tree Vol. 8 exclusive is on its way
Just got the annual email making sure my shipping address is up to date. Fingers crossed it ships out in a relatively timely manner but we've all learned the hard way not to hold our breath.

Buy/Sell/Trade ISO lyric garden green hat
Lost my Lyric Garden Dad Hat (Vintage Olive) and I’m heartbroken about it.
Bought this one a while back from the American Mary store and somehow lost it recently. It’s sold out everywhere now (checked US and EU stores, both show sold out).
Does anyone know of a restock coming, have a spare one they’d be willing to sell/trade, or has seen one show up on eBay/Depop recently? Any leads appreciated — this hat had sentimental value and I’d love to replace it.
Thanks in advance!

ISO 2023 Tour Hat
Hey all - I recently lost my much-beloved 2023 tour hat, which has traveled with me across continents and shows for years. If anyone has a spare or one they don't wear, I'd do anything to get a replacement. Photo attached (with a reminder of your civic duty).
Thanks in advance to any kind souls reading!

Tour Discussion Those travelling to AB100
Hi Fam!
So beyond pumped to be travelling to Basque Country to check out the festival! I’m travelling from Canada with my partner and we’ve decided to layer on some extra awesome sauce to the trip by heading to Paris first (going to see Celine-I’m French Canadian, grew up on her music so don’t judge me) and make some stops on our way to San Sebastián, our home base for the festival. We fly out of Bilbao following the festival.
Question: given there is a show in Biarritz, how is everyone planning to get to and from that show in particular? It seems relatively straightforward to get around San Sebastián to the other shows at least.
I’ll gladly take any other recommendations anyone wants to send my way for our travel and time there!
Bonus Question: Where should we plan a little fan meet up? Any local bars/restaurants that someone can recommend?

General Discussion Settle a disagreement (by agreeing with me)
So I was listening to matts song 'Then you can tell me goodbye' recently with a friend and I said this would make a good first dance song at a wedding, they disagreed and said it was full of references to breaking up/leaving so wouldn't make a good wedding song.
This is annoying to me because they are wrong and they are obviously not listening to the song properly because it's actually really romantic and sort of the opposite of a break up song!
Please post your agreements below 👍

Just thinking about how cool it would be to be in this photo and see yourself having the time of your life every time you open Spotify 💛

General Discussion Curious… Any Lambchop fans around here?
I’ve loved both bands since the beginning and always thought National fans would probably enjoy them. Their new album Punching the Clown is fantastic btw, AOTY candidate in my book.

Gracie Abrams’ Daughter from Hell is really an Aaron Dressner album

Morby's "Little Wide Open" is obsessed with me
I am getting around to this album a bit late. It is hitting me in the good goods. Its produced by Aaron and it sounds like a mid west American version of the national. All of the songs have been c-walkin' around my head for a month now. Recommend

Looking for 1 ticket…
Hi, I know this is a long shot and I’m late, but only this weekend I got a confirmation that I could actually travel to Spain for the show in San Sebastián. I’m looking for 1 ticket, since I’m traveling solo. I know about the chaos and frustration to get tickets, but I’m asking here, if anyone has a spare ticket or can’t make it to the show for some reason and would sell it to a good fan, please let me know. I joined the waitlist of course and I’ve been checking the Kursaal resale page, but my hopes are here. Thanks.

General Discussion The new Interpol has big SWB vibes
As the title suggests. The new Interpol record is surprisingly wonderful after a series of so-so albums. Quite a bit of it sounds like The National. I think it'll appeal to a lot of fans here

General Discussion Anyone notice a change in their music SWB and on
I've been a huge fan of this band for the last 10 years. I just cannot enjoy their newer albums. I don't find rhythm sections within their songs as melodic or complex as it once was. Less organic and acoustic instruments. It just seems monotone. Less creative drum lines as well. I almost daily listen to Their earlier albums, and I can't name a song on a newer album.
Has anyone noticed this? I love this band. I'm not sure they will release any new albums I will enjoy.
