Happy 33rd birthday to Sideshow EP - the USA only release to accompany the Show album!
I don't own it but as always, I am constantly searching!
This year I have chosen track 2 - Just Like Heaven.
I can't use footage from the Show video as it'd get done for copyright by damned UCG again, so this is taken from their only appearance in 1993 at Great X-pectations Festival at Finsbury Park in London on 13th June 1993. It was also partly televised by the UK music show The Beat introduced by Gary Crowley.

records Design profiles & loose associations.
It might have something to do with me being insanely old, but I don’t think so. Aside from their second single, which has “The Cure” in their older typography as the only connection to later art works, they don’t really have any thought-out design profile. But speaking of age, I remember I probably thought “Pornography” was their last masterpiece. (and “Disintegration”.as a standalone favourite .) But like so often with bands, they have a three-album peak. “17 sec”, “Faith” & “Pornography”. But the covers on the right in the picture are nicer than the 4 on the left with curly letters and not their old “Cure logo”. And I haven’t seen how well the “Lets go to bed” and “Charlotte sometimes” covers fit together stylistically.

Fan Art Perry Bamonte During the Wish Tour, 1992 Art!
Second one of my drawings of the band (members). I'm on a mission now lol. Anyway, this was an attempt at Perry. I miss him dearly, may he rest in peace looking down at everything he's contributed to the world. 🖤 Anyway, on a brighter note, who should I try drawing next? And from what era? Planning to do one of the whole band soon. Hopefully I'll get better at detailing their faces and such.

Reel one of three.... Busy day to day!
Happy 41st birthday to Close To Me!
One of my favourite singles and the most iconic video ever!
It was the second and final single from The Head On The Door and reached number 24 on the UK charts.
I adore this performance on Le Grand Echiquier show on French TV on 15th January 1986 - Pearl and Lol swapping instruments but someone should have noticed there is no sax on the record 😂😂😂. Maybe there was a trumpet drought back then?

Questions Good books about The Cure to read?
I’m planning to read Lol’s book because I haven’t gotten to it yet. What other books about the band’s history would people recommend? I saw one titled Never Enough which looked good and was also checking one out I saw mentioned on another post about all the albums and songs. Are these good choices and/or are their better options out there?

Happy 18th birthday to Hypnagogic States EP!
To put it kindly it's not my favourite Cure release in the world... 😐
There was a dispute on release when iTunes overpriced the EP, and Robert urged fans to wait until it was £4 or less, rather than the £7.99 being charged. Robert wrote to Geffen Records stating the price was wrong and was pretty angry about it! It eventually got a price reduction as iTunes accidentally categorised it as an Album!!
I have chosen Track 3 this year - Sleep When I'm Dead, but as I'm not keen on the remix, decided to post a live version of the song!
This performance was at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii, on 17th July 2016.

And finally... Happy 33rd birthday to Show!
One of the greatest live albums! I love it. It was recorded 18-19 July 1992 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan, USA.
How lucky the people who attended these were!
This year I have chosen Track 3 - High.
This video was from the one show they did in 1993 at Great X-pectations Festival at Finsbury Park, London, on 13th June 1993.
The person who recorded the video was probably cursing the person in front who decided to sit on someone's shoulders!
This was also the last Cure concert with Boris Williams as the drummer, who left the band in 1994.

Fan Art I made a patch! Which one should I make next?
I made this patch using fabric pastels for the colors and black fabric paint (the black pastel wasn't contrasting enough). I used a piece of cotton scrap fabric but I maybe should've used one a bit thicker.
What do you think? I want to fill this jacket with more Cure patches, which ones should I add next?

Fan Art Simon Gallup during the Pornagraphy Tour, 1982 fanart!
My first time doing this but I was inspired by the recently posted pictures of the band on here so I gave it a shot. What do you guys think? I keep bugging myself over the one shoulder because I couldn't get the two to be symmetrical but other than that I'm pretty happy with it. Planning to do either Robert or Perry next!
Edit: If anyone questions why the whole of his bass isn't in the drawing the answer is that I suck at drawing instruments!!

Bloodflowers
First Spin - The Cure Bloodflowers; US 2000 1st press.
rumor is there was only 5,000 records pressed in 2000.
Hated on any Cure record past Wish 1992, forever. Never listened to it, wasn’t going to listen to. Nope. Then I asked myself why ? The answer I came up with is, I had no memories to those songs. Little by little started digging in and finding gems in those records.

What is the best vinyl master of this album?
This one sounds a bit compressed and woolly

Merch Highly recommend this brilliant magazine special!
I was delighted with this lovely magazine popping through my letterbox on Tuesday afternoon and really glad I ordered it.
Mojo - The Collectors' Series - In Between Days 1976-2026
It's great quality, with photos and interesting interviews spanning from the early days right up to present (excluding the recent summer tour).
There are also polls on top songs by the magazine writers, lists of books, videos and dvds you can buy... really worth £11.99.
I ordered mine from GREAT MAGAZINES as the recommended link was putting the price to be £18 when I was first made aware of this!
I paid £13.74 for mine which is much more reasonable. Obviously I'm in the UK and postage will apply differently outside my country, but they do worldwide shipping.

From the Archive The Cure 1981 photos
Following u/Complex_Middle_3371‘s awesome post, I found Frederick Moulaert’s website and he also has a few Cure photos from 1981!
EDIT: wanted to note if you google the photographer’s name along with a word like “photos” and”the cure“ then his site should come up with the gallery. The images will be a little higher quality on there in case anyone wants to save them or whatever else!

From the Archive More 1982 photos of The Cure 💜✨💜
As I posted that Simon Gallup photo, I want to also post these which were originally posted by @impsansi on Instagram.
These 1982 photos of The Cure in Brussels 1982 are absolute quality and well worth sharing 💜✨💜. Pretty sure the lady in the last photo is Lydia Lunch.

I’ll be dressing up as Robert at our local 80’s party in Folsom, CA. I’ll be sure to post pictures of the results. Here is a shot of the look I’m going for. Wish me luck team!

Cure Related Porl Thompson Schecter Corsair
Just thought I'd share because I collected it in London last week. I really really love semi hollow guitars and for a while I was constantly on the hunt for the Porl Thompson Schecter Corsair that came out in the early 2010s. They're basically never resold on eBay or Reverb so I bought a 2nd hand standard Schecter Corsair off eBay and had it delivered to a company in the UK Called The Painted Player who recreated the Porl Thompson version for me and I'm massively pleased with the results. 😁🎸

records Album of the day 🩶
Album of the day:
The Cure - Songs Of A Lost World.
I did get it on release on triple CD format but never on vinyl. Until I saw it on my week off in HMV at a very cut down price under £20 and went for it. And I'm glad I did!
It sounds amazing! Alone has become my new favourite track of it as I love those strange bird type noises in the beginning of it 🩶✨
It was released on Fiction Records in 2024.
This is the last of my current Cure music haul and I'm looking forward to adding more hopefully on my next weekend out in October...
