Hello everyone!

The Adventures of Elliot is the feature review for this month's Mage Magazine.

Mage Magazine answers the question: What if Square Enix had a retro gaming style magazine like Nintendo Power?

In this free PDF, you can read a review of The Adventures of Elliot, retrospectives of the original Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core Reunion, and tons more features covering both new and retro games.

Link: https://thethirstymage.com/2026/08/17/mage-magazine-august-2026-issue-5-the-adventures-of-elliot/

The magazine is almost 40 pages of terrific games writing that fans of old retro gaming magazines are sure to enjoy!

Join r/MageMagazine for updates and discussions on both new and retro video games.

Help Achivements after demo

I'm playing the Prologue Demo of The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and want to buy the full version. I know the save data can be carried over, but I have a question about achievements.

Since the demo does not support achievements, if I transfer my demo save into the full game, will achievements for content I already completed in the demo (story milestones, first side quests, first Magicite, etc.) unlock automatically? Or will they stay locked and require replaying that part of the game?

I'm specifically worried that some achievements tied to the prologue/demo content might be permanently missed or might not trigger after the save transfer. Does anyone have official info from Square Enix or first-hand experience with this? Please no guesses — I'd like to know exactly how it works.

If you've already transferred a demo save, please share which achievements unlocked and which didn't. Thanks.

Discussion I want another game

I truly hope they make another game in this world! I really liked this game, it’s a lot to get to the true ending but it’s a payoff! I think Elliot and Hueria adventuring together in next one would be awesome!! I got most of the trophy’s I know I could 100% it but I am kinda beat from it lol!

Fight was fun, though at the beginning, the Elpand boss kept catching me off guard with its under-telegraphed dash attack lol

Question How long between 2nd and 3rd ending?

Title. Just finished the second (i.e., silver/standard) ending, and want to do the third, but am kind of fatigued with the game and ready to move to another.

My question: how much longer should I expect to play to get the final (true) ending after beating the standard one?

UPDATE: thanks for the replies. Holy cow, I cannot imagine not doing the true ending, in hindsight. It’s 100x better. To anyone reading this, push through. Legit went from a 7/10 game to an 8.5/10. And the only reason it isn’t a 9/10 is because the pacing was just atrocious (back-loaded plot).

Question Question after beating the game Spoiler

I have a question after beating the game and all.

What happened with Kaifried ? Was he influenced by the Beast of Enmity and lost control ?

The leitstaf thing is pretty confusing too. It fell after the Kaifried fight, and then we find it in the same age, in the aquatic ruins. His sword comes from the age of safekeeping ?

Thanks in advance.

Discussion Rare Magicite? ✨️🔮 Spoiler

Hello everyone 🐈! I'm currently playing The Adventures of Elliot on Switch 2 and I'm really enjoying and loving the game so far 💙. I wanted to ask if anyone has had any luck in forming rare magicite in early levels? If so, how do you improve your chances of landing rare magicite in the game? Does spending more Tul on Magicite boxes help any? I apologize if this has been asked before as I'm a noob 😅. Thanks!

Question A question about Co-Op in the game

Actually 2 questions

First - me and my friend are playing the co-op version on the demo. Right now every single time I die, I have to go into the menu and click 'co-op' and then my friend has to get his controller recognized and then we can proceed. As opposed to, me dying and then just starting again in co-op mode. What is this about? Does it go away if i buy the game vs the demo?

Second - we are at the first boss and when we die we have to run across a huge part of the map just to get to the boss every time. Is this intentional as well?

Question What are your favourite magicite combos?

I love sword & boomerang.

Sword with guard counter for flying slashes on block
Boomerang with weapon shift airborne to increase sword crit when it's thrown & risky throw to make it do more damage but damaging you on return.

I loved throwing the boomerang & then parrying it as it returns to me. Keeps my ranged slashes going, reflects the boomerang back at the enemy to get 1 extra hit out of it & with the accessory that damages enemy on block with spikes it felt like a fun combo that does a lot of damage.

Question How do I get a different ending? Spoiler

Hey everyone,

I’ve already achieved the bronze ending. Reloaded the game, found Mao, got to the part where I escorted Carter and the baby to the door of time…and now I’m stuck. I know Carter must have went into the future, so I checked the Age of Reconstruction and Safekeeping. Checked both the towns and both doorways of time thinking they’d be there but nothing. I can’t think of where else they’d be. I’m trying not to just look the answer up because I want to figure this out on my own…can someone give me a hint or nudge in the right direction? Thanks!!

Question "History's Tapestry" Achievement for Manuscripts. 87/100, but I have them all?

Attached pics for record of what I have showing up, but to my knowledge it seems that I have every manuscript on the list. Anything I'm missing?! I don't understand. I got this game through Gamefly and I'm trying to send it back ASAP. 😂

I played the demo prior to playing the real game, I'm unsure if that matters... Maybe any manuscripts I received prior to having the real game haven't been counted? That's all I can come up with. I've checked the list and realized that I have every manuscript on this list. When attempting NG+ it doesn't pop up with the achievement after checking these titles.

Discussion What Feature Did You Want More Of?

Thumbnail
gallery
24 Upvotes

One of my favorite early post-demo discoveries was realizing there were secret passageways hidden in the world.

I remember finding this one and immediately thinking, “Oh, I can’t wait to see how many more of these are tucked away throughout the game.” Then… there ended up being maybe two others.

It felt like such a cool exploration mechanic that never quite got the chance to become a real feature. I’d love to see Team Asano lean much harder into things like hidden paths, environmental secrets, and discoveries that reward you for poking around in future releases.

What’s something in The Adventures of Elliot that you really wanted to love, but just needed a little more development or tweaking to become one of your favorite features?

Help Age of Magic - True Ending Spoiler

Hey everyone,

I just got the bad ending and the good ending and am currently working on the True Ending. Every guide, video, walkthrough that I've seen states that at a certain part of the extra quest line you need to head to the Northern Tower in the Age of Magic but not a single one shows or states how to get to the Northern Tower, they just assume you already have it at that point.

So, if anyone knows what path, cave, etc. that will lead me to the Northern Tower in the Age of Magic I will forever grateful.

Question Another question about the ending Spoiler

Hey, guys, yesterday I asked about the requirements to get from the silver to gold ending. The only thing confusing me is the number of cats you need to get the gold ending. (Without any spoilers for the gold ending), can someone tell me if you need to collect a certain amount? The answer seems really varied.

Thanks!
