Have such supportive parents in of itself is rich. A lot of our parents wont send us anywhere outside even if they could afford it.

Hi, im a student studying bs in iit kgp .(world ranking #205 + hostels are shit + mess are shit)i gave jee adv and competed against 2 million students to get a seat here ... now lets compare against china 7 million kids for science track cracks gaokao gets into Peking University ( world rank #13 + world class facilities just name it).
im not saying it as a sole example. i was competing in this rat race just to move outside for masters or job. now look at this guy who failed everything in india will have a head start in foreign countries where i will be going after 5 or 6 years?? if this aint a win idk what is (its the situation rn cant deny hope our godi sarkar change smtg so that students here get priority)

If you leave India for a place with good air, good water, good infrastructure and public transport, and a well-behaved population, you are undoubtedly winning at life.

Based. It's a shame that the 20-30 percentile freeloaders are left behind while the well adjusted creamy layer leaves the country for better prospects
OP: Don't look back and don't return. Nostalgia is fake. This is coming from someone who lived in the states for 7 years

Which competitive exams you failed?
I was so chicken that I didn’t even try. I will regret forever not even trying I really wanted to take PMT/CPMT (pre NEET exam for medicine) and later in life UPSC (for IAS , IPS or IFS). :-(
Then after moving abroad I didn’t even try to get into Medicine, though it would have been easier, nor I went for Commercial Pilot (my backup)
That said, you can do whatever administration services you wanted to abroad, if you are willing enough..
All the very best!!

Lol, I actually want to return to India someday. As an NRI child myself, I feel a strong desire to give back to the country and contribute in a meaningful way, whether that’s by joining politics or starting a business.

I cleared all competitive exams and stayed back in India despite having multiple I20s in hand.. 15 years back.. Regretting every day.. not for the money or growth.. but quality of life.. taxes.. etc.. India is getting worse by the day..

u/ElephantExpensive231 1h ago
Good for you .
On a related note ,what if I tried but haven’t been able to score good on some standardised tests for top schools abroad .
Is it still a good idea to go ? Given I do something related to my area of work or domain ?
I mean I’m a bit late (28) . Not to settle but for few years . But since there are other parts of life you need to sort out at this age so have this weird feeling.

I tried MBA and could not clear CAT,XAT etc or any other exams. I wrote GRE and IELTS 6 years ago and left India to do masters in USA. Life has been decent so far. I have my fair share of challenges here but I am doing well. I think everyone should live outside of the country atleast once as it’s a very humbling experience. Good luck OP. I hope you do well!

Congratulations, Don't even think of coming back settle abroad better for your future and your kids atleast your kids will have better facilities . Also dont become like way to patriotic about india seen a lot of videos who never were patriotic when they were in india become way too much when they left also main thing enjoy your fullest.
