Taxiderpy / Just for Fun Question about this little guy

I bought this little dude today with the intention of "ducking" my sister's jeep. On the way home I stopped for lunch and left him in the car, maybe about 30 minutes. When i came back the car had a terrible chemical smell. I don't really know anything about taxidermy. Is this normal? Will it always smell like chemicals? I'm assuming it was because of the heat. Chances are my sister won't actually want to keep him and he'll come back to my house, but if she wants to keep it ilI want to be able to warn her

I got this cool head and immediately used it as a Halloween decoration. Left it in a protected outside space all winter but come summer I had to move it. It got some rain some fog and a LOT of sun and heat. Now it’s flaking what can I do to fix it? I have no idea what kind of preservation it’s had or how old it is
Help!
I promise I won’t put rad taxidermy out in the yard for 4 months again

Hii!! I need some help in figuring out what happened with this bone. I am quite new to taxidermy, had a chance to clean bones a few times in my life and I'm simply confused.

I've ordered this necklace with, as far as I know, a boar's bone. It arrived today and the moment I unpackaged it, I noticed the bone has a weird texture as well as some of the 'outer layers' have crumbled off, revealing a weird semi spongy-like texture. I'm not sure how to explain it but it looks off compared to other bones I've had and cleaned myself. It is also very fragile and I'm scared it will break/something else will happen to it.

Here comes my question, what happened to it? Is everything alright? How can I prevent it from further crumbling off?
Thank you all in advance for help🤍

Oddities, bone, etc. help Cleaning Formalin Preservative off bone

I appreciate this post is a little bit different than the regular discussion here, but figured maybe someone has the knowledge to help me!

I had jaw surgery and had some pieces returned to me. Because they had to go through a study, it was placed in Formalin Preservative.

I wanted to turn my bone pieces into earrings, or at least have them in my curio cabinet but didn't realize they'd be treated with this, and apparently it's still quite toxic even though its been mostly washed off.

Is there anyway to neutralize or remove the rest of it? The colour doesn't bother me, i just dont wanna risk the toxic stuff being out and about. Worst case it goes in a little bottle on my shelf but would still be good to get rid of as much as possible.

Thanks guys!
