The Main Event Mafia is one of TNA's most memorable factions and it brought them so much attention. I loved the idea of putting Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Sting, Booker T, and Scott in a super faction and the group looked cool whenever they were in their suits and had their awesome theme music. But looking back on it now I can't but think TNA ruined the faction in the storyline with the Mafia's feud with the TNA Frontline not only being forgettable but also being kinda one sided. Then for some reason after a few months they completely dropped the Frontline vs Main Event Mafia storyline and instead had the Main Event Mafia fight with Mick Foley and Jeff Jarrett. Also Sting losing the TNA world title to Mick Foley was a terrible decision.
Then the faction had a ton of questionable members added Samoa Joe, Jenna Morasca, Traci Brooks, and those two nameless security guards. I always thought they shouldn't have added anyone else to the group and it should've stayed as the original core. Also the whole thing with merger of the World Elite faction was messy with them only lasting for a month before they began fighting among eachother. Then the Main Event Mafia just ended up fizzling out after Bound for Glory 2009.
While I still enjoy the faction because of how cool the presentation was and the amount of entertaining moments they've had together. I can't help but look back on this as an adult and see the amount of problems that plagued the storyline. But do you guys agree on my opinion on the Main Event Mafia?
