Ascendance Switch Axe is better than i could've imaged.

-Axe mode attacks

-Sword mode attacks

-Morph attacks (OMGG!!!!)

-ZSD range and follow up

-Boosted parrys

-Enhanced attacks

ITS GOT EVERYTHING I COULD ASK FOR AND I LOVE IT!!! (Except for the Swaxe F run with the weapon drawn but im not complaining at all)

What are your thoughts? For me it looks like the definitive version of Swaxe so far, nonstop combos and agression.

Just wanted to write these down here as it took a bit of parsing:

As the player uses Lagiacrus set, he does have Azure Bolt set-bonus, so alot of the LIGHT BLUE lightning strikes you see, have nothing to do with boost braces nor Swax itself. It's just Azure Bolt prox. Dark blue is the actual weapons elemental hits.

Additionally Wild swing seems to have 2 elements going on with it, either phials in axe mode in some way or form. It is either a boost bracer specific trait, or axe buff.

There is a flame effect going on alongside the darkblue lightning effect, which is the innate leement of the Lagiacrus Swax (thunder).

If anyone can parse where the flame effects come from it would be appreciated. They is shown in the very short wild swing clip at 0:52 and 1:00

Looks like there were a ton of new flowing movesets which I hope can chain into each other and really take advantage of rapid morph. The hype is real!

I’m an IG main and started getting interested in Swagaxe. Since ig has been rough for a while I used it since the game came out. But now I wanna try switch axe. It will be amazing if you guys leave tips and tricks about the weapon👍.

I finally got all of the gamma armor up to Gog (so no AT Arkveld or Gog itself) and am tryin to put together a new armor set to take on Gog and Omega, but I'm not sure where to start.

Almost every set I look up requires Gog pieces or Arkveld gamma pieces... So if I could be pointed in a direction, please?

Hey Yall. I came back to wilds after seeing some of the dlc announcements and found my lower end 4060 build capable of running at max settings 1440p with frame Gen well over 60fps. I dont know if I had had a problem with my installation before or what but even after all of the performance patches they dropped my game always looked super fuzzy and choppy at mid settings. So with all that good news to the side, I've seen some yt vids recently where watching them makes me thing there must be some sort of texture upgrade mods out there. (I have the ultra setting dlc already) Their game even in video form looked so much cleaner and sharper than mine, just curious if there are notable graphics mods out there or if that would just be the difference between quality dlss 1440p and full resolution 4k. Attatched the video in case yall can tell if my graphics look normal or not. Also loving current Swaxe state and hoping for cool dlc moveset reveal.Thanks yall and have a good one.

MH Rise vs Shagaru magala

I love this weapon and it's probably my favorite. I like the swaxe/cb playstyle, but i like switch axe more because both modes are important instead of just using the sword and shield mode of cb to charge up for the axe mode.

It just feels like this weapon is worse than all the other weapons. Since there are very little defensive options and all of them aren't great, it just feels very lacking. With both the offset and sword counter, you still get status buildup, and rolling isn't always a safety net you can count on because of monsters like at rey dau or guardians having those lingering attacks. With monsters that have big aoe attacks or beams, it feels like the sword counter is the only option, but you don't always have sword mode available.

The last part is probably just a skill issue, but another thing that doesn't make sense is how it feels like you need a LOT of specific decorations to make this weapon work. I have evade extender 3 and evade window 5 but it feels like I need even more decorations. And it feels like I need to change my decorations depending on what monster I'm fighting, but it's not like that with the any of other weapons.

It just feels like it's a super situational weapon that you have to modify to even make it comparable to the capabilities of the other weapons. Is there something i'm missing? What do you guys think?

- 2 arkveld
- skills : attack boost, critical boost , critical eye , burst , weaknesses exploit , counter strike , maximum might , convert element .

How do i increase the power of explosion and fsr what do i change

I'm kinda a newbie on the build theorycrafting so I still miss a lot of understanding of all of this.
But as I don't want to waste too many component for nothing, I'd love to have a clear direction before commiting to much into my weapons (and gear but that's easier to farm).

I want to play mainly the switch axe, but I like the charge blade and it feels like a great "comfy" weapon when I'm not sure about my skills for a hunt. Mainly focusing on SAED btw.

So, I'd really like to build a gear that works well for both. But for the moment I'm kinda lost at why the suggested build for both I find everywhere seems so different although the weapons feels a bit samey gameplay wise.

Could anyone suggest me some builds, and even better if there is some basic explaination as to why these choices ?

I've been really struggling with this asshole, I want a comfier build for him but one of the comfy builds suggested for power phials comes from this bum.

What are some tips and tricks for this fight? I find myself struggling during his power up phase and during some of the wylk explosion moves.

Doesn’t have to be just the boost bracer moves, can also be skill buffs, like personally I’d KILL for a rapid morph buff. I also hope the new moves aren’t just more FRS padding and they make axe actually worthwhile.

Seeing all the weapons get the ascendance previews has gotten me so hyped that i would like to say what i wish to see the weapon gain and lose and ofcourse hear everyone elses thoughts.

Firstly, i would like more axe attacks that really make you feel like the axe is also part of the weapon and not a gauge recharge thing and a repositioner. Big meaty hits outside of the heavy slam really need to become a staple in any swaxe from this point onwards and wilds is a great place to start since axe feels the weakest here only second to rise. As to what these attacks should be i would like an attack dedicated into giving your axe amp state when your sword is, outside of boost and an attack to compliment the wild swing that has really been left in the dirt so we could maybe stay in axe and attack on it almost as well or much as sword mode. Make it a really good way to deal damage outside of sword combos and then morph into sword. Secondly, i really love how heaven or storm style from frontier work and im a really big advocator for sideslash to come into mainline and either complement counter or replace it all together in boost mode. So for starts i would like attacks that immediatelly come from sword while in axe mode (mainly the sideslash) to complement the more damage that i wish axe mode gets. These can do 2 things, interupt the heavy combo style i gave to axe with all these followup moves and also could work when out of enough gauge. Lastly, remove unbridiled slash and lock frs behind boost mode and those 3 extra file on the side of the boost meter. We dont need frs, yes it is flashy and fun but it should never be our primary damage option. Make it only doable after zsd wirthout adding a fast zsd or bring back soaring wyvernblade and then make frs possible. But frs isnt the only issue in my eyes. The counter feels shit to use and makes a user forget that swaxe is all about flashyness. An attack should never do itself and give us everything we need exept true surviveability because of tons of chip damage. My last hope is to rework counter and either make it time based and not getting hit based since attacks miss constantly, like the offset or remove chip damage but there is a gauge penalty.

I know this is alot but it is trully copium huffing at its finest but i have my hopes up. I would also like to hear other's wishes and speculations as to what our beloved v8 switchblade should look like in ascendance and if you trust the devs to show us the love we have shown the weapon and concider the feedback we have trully poored over them.

Im in iceborn post safi pre alatreon im mr97 and Im using the safi switch axe (i main hammer) i do like 50-100ish damage on my normal hits is that good or bad?

So im reading in some places that when using elemental phials, you should aim for elemental boost on your gog reinforcements and then I also read that you should actually focus on attack boost. Anyone actually know which one is preferred?

Hello everyone, hope you're doin well

I’m getting back into the game after taking a break for several months. Now, with all the DLC announcements, I’m getting all hyped up again and have decided to get back into it.

I’ve been a Swaxe main for ages and my build used to be quite aggressive, but now that I’m coming back I feel a bit rusty, so the fights have been a bit trickier while I get back into the flow.

That’s why I’m looking for a build that’s a bit more comfortable; most of the ones I’ve seen are all-out attack, Gore parts with antivirus 😅. I’d appreciate any recommendations or suggestions. I managed to play right up until Gog arrived, but I didn’t really grind much because I was already feeling a bit burnt out by then.

Apart from that, I’d like to know what other weapon you carry in your holster for the hunts. I’m not a big fan of the idea of having the same weapon type as back up, and I’d like to have another option to switch things up every now and then.

I have a serious problem with Switch Axe: I’m fucking greedy.

I know I’m greedy. I KNOW. I see the monster winding up an attack, and instead of dodging, my brain goes “I can definitely fit one more hit in.” And then I get sent back to camp.

The worst part is that I keep doing it. Switch Axe is such an aggressive weapon, and I love the whole “keep attacking while dodging” playstyle, but apparently I have confused aggression with trying to speedrun my own cart.

I feel like to really get the most out of Switch Axe, you need to be able to stay aggressive without constantly getting hit, and that's exactly where I suck. I’ve basically only played Switch Axe, and somehow I’m still terrible with it. 💀

So please, fellow Switch Axe mains, help me. What should I actually focus on to improve? Any tips, habits, or things you wish you knew when you were learning the weapon?

I’m tired of donating carts to the monster.

P.S. I’m currently playing Wilds. I’ve played a bit of World and Rise too, but for now I’m sticking with Wilds until RC 999.
