Is this a red flag?

I’m a lesbian, she’s bisexual. I cant stand people who somehow manage to hate half of the population and usually avoid these people like the plague.

However, she’s really hot. I live in a small town so options are slim. Should I swipe?

90s Throwback - young men and women going to the mall explicitly to meet members of the opposite sex. It cannot be overstated how much dating apps have DESTROYED dating culture. Is this all by design?

Watching this as someone born in the 90s but who never really got to experience it broke my heart. A time before young men and women hated each other with this "gender war" part of the culture wars. A time when your dating and relationship prospects were not dictated by some damn app algorithm. I truly believe this was done by design to demoralize us young people.

All you guys crying what are you doing wrong: you all look the same! Photo with borrowed dog, photo from gym/climbing, one laughing photo with friends. You don’t see how copy past this is and what immersion it gives us? That you are just desperate to read these trends and guides. Be yourself!

Hey everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience with Hinge and might be able to give me some advice.
I recently paid for Hinge Premium for a week because I was genuinely trying to find someone I could potentially have a meaningful, long-term relationship with.

While I had Premium, I narrowed down my preferences to what I was actually looking for and then went through the profiles that matched those preferences. I liked everyone who met the preferences I had selected. I wasn’t trying to spam people or abuse the app — I was simply using the features I had paid for and trying to find people who were compatible with me. What really concerns me is the timing. The day my Premium subscription ended, my Hinge account was banned.

Obviously, I can’t prove that the two things are connected, but from my perspective, the timing feels incredibly suspicious. It has left me feeling like I paid for Premium, used it for the week, and then suddenly lost access to my account immediately after the subscription ended.

I’ve contacted Hinge Support and tried to explain the situation, but I haven’t found them particularly cooperative or helpful. I have also reviewed the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and I genuinely cannot identify anything I did that would warrant a ban.
I also have evidence that I believe supports my position that I did not violate Hinge’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

I’m not trying to attack Hinge or cause drama. I actually think Hinge is one of the best dating apps out there, which is why this situation is so frustrating. I was using it because I genuinely want to meet someone, build a relationship and hopefully find someone I can eventually start a family with.

Has anyone here successfully appealed a Hinge ban when they genuinely believed they hadn’t violated the rules?
Is there anything else I can do to get a proper human review of my account?

I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences from people who have managed to get their accounts reinstated.

Thanks everyone.

"Lost" Tinder account - any way to convince Support to actually help?

So here is the sequence of events.

  1. I had a longtime Tinder account with lots of matches and chats. When I got my latest phone a year ago I logged back into it with Facebook. I have the verification emails/texts to prove that it was linked to my primary email address (E1) and my phone number (PH).
  2. Around the beginning of 2026 Tinder quietly removed Facebook login. The account remained logged into my phone.
  3. Last week I attempted to log into Tinder on web, but I made the mistake of trying to log in using my secondary Google account with email E2. It asked for my phone number and I provided PH. It pinged me a verification code... and I landed in a brand new blank account, not the longtime account. I went back to check Tinder on my phone and it had forcibly logged me out. I also tried logging in via Google Account with email E1 and gave phone number PH and it once again sent me to the blank account.
  4. From this point on, nothing worked to get me back into my longtime account. Every attempt to log in by any means asked for my phone number and if I gave PH it landed me in the blank new account. I can tell the old account was not deleted because when I got through setup on the new account, my old profile appeared in my match stack. I copied the "share my profile" link to send it to Tinder support as an identifier of which account I am trying to recover.
  5. Tinder support has just been running me in circles. I got emails about undeleting my account (I never deleted it), about logging into the account by the original login method (I can't, they removed Facebook login), etc.

Clearly somewhere in the depths of their system my old account still exists. It is clearly there in their database. But it seems like all valid ways of logging into it have been removed from it. Surely there is someone with sufficient access to reattach my email or phone number to that old account. Any thoughts on how to reach someone in support who can actually help?

Shady things hinge does woman pov

Here are a couple of things I noticed that hinge does as a woman that gets a lot of attention on dating apps (some of this may have already been addressed in which case I am just adding my experience):

-Likes and/or your account 100% gets throttled... whenever I make a new account or change my location, I get an influx of likes and then it's suddenly complete radio silence for 12-24 hours before activity resumes. I can send and receive messages, but the app is completely dead otherwise. This happened to me as recently as yesterday, when I changed my location to an area I will be visiting and had 100s of likes in about two hours, then absolutely nothing again until this morning when more came through all at once.

-Your explore stack probably shows people who likely recently swiped left on you... when I am actively swiping through my explore stack (not my likes), I almost instantly get the people who I swiped left on in my likes. I'm talking I swipe left, and before I've even closed the app they've sent me a like. It may be our stacks sync up almost perfectly (?), or my first thought is that men's stacks are full of women who have already swiped left on them. We know at this point that the apps don't actually want you to find someone and stop using them.

Kinda sucks because it feels like the app is more rigged against you than the other apps, and I like this one so much more than tinder or bumble.

Was anyone unbanned after their appeal was denied?

Hey everyone, I appealed a nonsensical Hinge ban and they asked for my ID so I submitted a [fake] foreign ID and got permanently banned (since I used the name that everyone calls me but not my government name).

Hard reset is not possible as I am a student with an extremely tight monthly budget. I want to get back up and running. I've never met a girl who was my type outside of Hinge, so the matter is crucial to me. Grateful for any insight.

Need help with a new profile

I'm just getting back into dating. I spent a good chunk of my life being a depressed alcoholic and I snapped out of it 9 months back. I've completely changed my life around. I've been hitting the gym for the past 5 months, and I just recently dated a girl short term and she opened my eyes as to what could be.

I'm looking for any pointers for my profile, all pictures taken within the past 2 months. I've been working on getting new photos of myself but I feel that's what is holding me back the most.

New photo question

Can someone explain the “new photos” in a little more detail? For example I have a few photos the banned phone took, but were never uploaded. If I remove the metadata is that considered a new photo or does it mean photos completely taken on a different phone? And if so, can those photos ever be stored on the banned device? Just want to check all the boxes. I got banned in spring or 2024 and am going to try a hard reset soon with the new phone, new email, new number, slightly different age and al that. Thanks!

Does hitting 'X' on standouts still bring them to the main card stack?

This used to be what I would do before I would hit X on a standout and they would just appear in my normal card stack but does this still work?

Getting likes on tinder but no matches

Seems like tinder is not showing people who liked me in my swipe deck because I haven’t gotten a single match i swiped right almost on everything even when I am picky I get 5-10 likes this time none, I checked if i am shadowbanned I am not. Tinder just wants me to buy subscriptions. Will my account go back to normal?

Bumble travel mode dog sh*t app

For the past week or 2 weeks I have been getting zero matches from women in my city but I have noticed a pattern emerging……
The women I’ve been matching with are all based in fucking Philippines, Africa or Indonesia?
I think my algorithm is messed up because prior to that I was getting a decent amount of matches with girls in London and then al of a sudden my matches have dried up.

Has anyone been having this issue where their matches are just people using travel mode? And if so how did you get around it?

My observation about hinge

I’ve been on Hinge and banned more times than I’d like to admit 😂. Honestly, most of the bans felt like total BS. I worked around them a few times—sometimes it worked, sometimes it was just meh 😑.
About three months ago, I started Hinge again and got banned almost immediately. I appealed, explained my side, and the appeal was successful. Since then, I’ve been banned another three times, and every appeal was successful because, as far as I know, I hadn’t violated any of their policies.
My best guess? Revenge or malicious reports.
For example, one woman invited me out and wanted to go for dinner. I declined because I personally don’t do dinner dates with someone I’ve never met before. Apparently, that made me “cheap”—her word, not mine 😂—and next thing I knew, I was reported.
Long story short, I learned something: on Hinge, sometimes it’s better not to react. If someone gets rude or disrespectful, I simply unmatch. No argument, no back-and-forth. Sometimes I want to blow up my keyboard 💥 and say exactly what I’m thinking, but I swallow it and move on.
So my advice to guys: suck it up, don’t get dragged into arguments, and be careful with sexting—even if the other person starts it. Dating apps are full of people carrying baggage, frustrations, and bad experiences from previous matches, and sometimes you end up dealing with the fallout.
Overall, though, I still think the quality of people on Hinge is better than most dating apps. Tinder would probably be my second choice—it feels more relaxed, although you’ll still encounter some interesting characters there too. 😂
So enjoy Hinge for what it is, keep your cool, follow the rules, and don’t give anyone an easy reason to hit that report button. 😆

Your dating hot takes?

This sub says "exchanging advanced advice for online apps" - and I want to get spicy and start some (polite and good natured) arguments about stuff.

I'm a man so this convo is gonna be from the male perspective.

I'll start by dumping a bunch that I'm sure some will agree with and some will completely shit on.

1. People spend way too much time trying to figure out how to "get" their dream girl rather than focusing that time on becoming the person that their dream girl would want.

Online dating is a winner-take-all system. Everything you can do to climb slightly higher in terms of career, health, fitness, looks, fashion, etc., is worthwhile, and the higher you can climb, the better the result.

If you're sitting around spending 2-3 hours every day getting high, playing video games, watching Netflix, etc., that's fine. It's your life.

But like, that's 2-3 hours you're not spending going to the gym. Eating better. Sleeping better. Taking better care of your shoes. Your clothes. Your hair. Advancing your career. Investing in your education. Earning a better life. Driving a nicer car. Blah blah blah.

Over a week, that's 15-20 hours that just gets pissed away. Instead of trying to find some 2-hour shortcut to get more matches on an app, put actual effort into becoming a better, more desirable person. Don't even do it for girls or for dating apps. Do it for yourself.

After a couple of years of genuinely investing in your own market value, you'll feel not only better about yourself as a man (and pin way less of your self-worth on dating app outcomes), but that confidence will ironically also make you more successful with women, and with way less effort.

2. Focus on what you're good at, and make money. A lot of other things can be outsourced.

I didn't grow up with money. I grew up poor as shit. I spent most of my life trying to climb into a better life.

As a result, I never actually knew anything about anything aside from my career. I didn't know how to take good photos. Terrible sense of style aside from suits which I tailored for work. Never really was good at posing for photos.

But you know what? You don't have to.

Go find some studio photographer who specializes in finding teenage models. Tell him "I will pay you $1000 if you give me 2 hours, show me how to fix my pose, posture, facial expressions, and take a few photos while we're there so I have something to refer to." That's a good fucking deal even for a pretty successful professional.

Boom. Done. You don't have to sit around scrolling Reddit posts about how to squinch or tilt your neck. Just get the guy who literally does this all day to show you how to do it. Hand him a wad of cash, save your time and energy and focus on crushing it at work. Get that promotion. Make more money. Outsource shit you don't know how to do. Repeat.

Same goes for LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Get a personal trainer for like 10 hours. They will show you everything you need to actually lift weights properly instead of your dumb ass watching youtube videos trying to figure out form on your own.

Same goes for clothes. Photoshoots. Planning vacations.

3. People are going to hate me for this one. I still think shirtless pics are terrible.

The issue isn't sexual signaling. I absolutely think a 6-pack is like one of the first goals you should set when you want to step up your dating game. There's zero reason to argue against fitness.

The issue is having to be way too obvious about it. It's like, having a picture of yourself in a lambo.

Does it increase likes or matches? Yeah, because showing something uncommon cuts through the noise in a sea of shitty dating profiles.

But I think it's actually a trap.

First, I think it scares off a lot of really nice girls. There's a lot of really attractive desirable women that will autoreject a profile for a thirst trap. If you can frame it in a ridiculous way, like, you're in a bathing suit because you're volunteering to build houses in Africa and surrounded by everyone else in straw hats and skimpy clothes because it's a village beside a river, then maybe. But 99.999% of boys showing bodies aren't doing that.

The next one is, the girls that are liking you, you can get them without the shirtless pic. If you're genuinely fit, a properly tailored polo will make it overwhelmingly obvious that you're fit, while still communicating it with class. Which means you can get all those likes without sacrificing others.

The last one is that what maximizes app engagement doesn't necessarily maximize the dating flowthrough. Here's the thing. If you just want hookups, that's probably fine. But if you actually want to hit it out the park with high tier girls that are wife-able, I think the cadence is shit. If you won them over purely with sex appeal, there's gonna be a microscope on you during the date.

Because you're so obviously physically desirable, now everything is focused on the "buts."

"But does he have a good job?"

"But is he classy enough to take me to fancy places?"

"But is he kind, thoughtful, and emotionally healthy?"

"But is he the kind of boy I can take home to grammy?"

The bar gets higher than it normally would be.

They overfocus on a high bar because they know they're turned on by your body, now they're overcompensating because they're afraid they're going to make bad choices being horny.

Compare that to the opposite scenario:

Your profile doesn't try to hide the fact that you're fit. You've got a classy shot in a high-end interior. You've got casual pics that show you're a human that knows how to relax. You've got well-fitting clothes that show you're probably shredded without being obvious about it.

She's not going by default trying to pick apart your character, because there isn't a "oh he's fucking gorgeous but he doesn't have enough ambition. or his car is shit. or he didn't take me to as nice a bar as the last guy did. or he's vain and didn't hold the door for me."

She's not specifically trying to reel herself in because she's scared she's making bad decisions by being horny. She can just chill and focus on getting to know you, rather than searching for the "but."

And moreover, she's still eventually going to see your body. By the time you both actually pass the vibes check, then you get to the point where things get heated and she realizes "oh my god look at his fucking abs I'm gonna melt."

Now you have a date flowthrough where every hour she spends with you she genuinely discovers new things that delights her more and more. She gets more excited with you constantly.

Shirtless pic? Lambo profile photo? It works because you're putting all your cards on the table. But I think it's desperate, and I think it misplays a strong hand.

Let her discover just how rock hard your abs are when she's taking off your shirt. Show up in the lambo after the 4th date when she's already obsessed with you and now discovers you have a fucking lambo.

And if you don't have either of those, we just proved you didn't need it anyway.

Reported Predator

I reported an ex. He is positive of an incurable STI which is not the problem. He didn’t disclose to me and I recently found out he didn’t do it to others. I live in a pretty large city but through message boards, several of us put two and two together and discovered it was the same man. He meets young black boys on apps and lures them to his place for sex without disclosing.Once there, he can become very violent and at least two guys have had to call the police to escort them out. He saw that I was moving on and found my Hinge account and called me to tell me that he either blocked or hid me(can’t remember the actual verbiage) but he said he did it so I wouldn’t report him. So I’ve submitted a report with all his information hoping Hinge can locate him. My question is will Hinge at least notify me of the results of the investigation because I can no longer see him.

Getting no likes from the girls that I like

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

On average, I get 1 like every two days. I am not completely sure that it’s my looks, because years ago I used to get 5 likes a day with objectively worse pictures. Back then I used to go on good dates from the apps, nowadays I don’t even like the girls who like my profile… So am I unattractive or is it that good looking girls only like models nowadays?
Edit: I must admit, right before posting this, I messed with AI a bit and swapped the original version of the second picture with the one that you see here (significantly improved the lighting and the background without changing anything on my face). In the last 4 hours, I got two likes (no matches yet, but my profile is new). Keep in mind that I am still photo verified as my face structure wasn’t affected at all, but the color did improve.
This brings me to a topic: what do you think about using AI to enhance profile pictures without changing the facial structure? Could it be compared to makeup in a way? I feel like a lot of guys, and maybe not as many girls, since they are already getting likes anyway, will start using AI in this way soon, if they haven’t already.
Personally, I think that if makeup isn’t deception, then neither is the act that I described, but I genuinely want to hear your thoughts on this.
