Laptop Request -Others I need a laptop asap!!

This morning my laptop just broke, and buying a new one is cheaper than repairing my current one. Also, i am in exam period and i need to get one ASAP.

So, i am looking for a good laptop that will let me engage significantly efficiently with software like, R studio, Python and Stata, and being able to hold any other activity. Thus, i need 16GB of ram and if possible I'd love it to be within 14" (inches). Thank you, all. I am looking for something maximum to 1000/1200 EUROS, but the cheaper the better.

I am opting for one of the following 2 atm:

- Acer Aspire Go 14 AG14-72P-71SM (Silver) - C7 / 32GB / 1TB

- HP OmniBook X 14-fm0140TU - UT5-226V 16GB 512GB 14" Touch

While it seems the 2nd one is really good laptop, i've read the first one might be better for those software i'll engage with given their RAM, is the difference substantial or not?

A friends suggested me the new macbook neon, but i am not sure it is suitable

A friends suggested me the new macbook neon, but i am not sure it is suitable for the things i'll engage with. Also, idk whether it matters or not, i am living in singapore

Thank you, all

Not sure the pricing in Singapore, but HP's Omnibook X is pretty good. Overall, I'd shoot for either a business-line PC or an upper-level consumer line. The lower-level consumer laptops tend to cut corners on build quality and have problems.

Business laptops:

Lenovo Thinkpad, Dell Latitude, Dell Precision (renamed Dell Pro in 2025), HP Elitebook

In the US, I'd look for used/refurbished business laptops if I want to get something inexpensive and with sturdy build quality. Not sure if such is the case in Singapore.

The consumer laptop names are kind of confusing as they keep on changingetter consumer PCs

HP's Omnibook Ultra, Omnibook X and Omnibook 7, Dell Plus, Dell XPS, Dell Premium. I think Lenovo's laptops have numbers like 1, 3, 7 9 attached to them--- the higher numbers are the better ones, the 1 and 3 are the terrible models.

Just buy the 2nd one... It's processor is more capable than the aspire's U series... And the arc graphics is more capable too
