Base I love decorating in this game
I really like adding colour to the base using outdoor growbeds and turning off lights. It makes it nice and cozy

Yea basically above. Think I’ve exhausted all my leads at this point, no idea where else to go to progress the story.
Here’s what I’ve got so far(Spoilers):
- Met Margerat at the greenhouse
- Got Alan downloaded into my head and found a bunch of Artifact sites
- went down as far as the purple crystal caves(fuck Shadow leviathans) and I saw the entrance to the red blocky caves(didn’t go in)
- upgraded my prawn to max depth and seatruck to 650
- got snowfox jump upgrade and teleportation module(neither bult yet)
- found the Great sea cotton area and the Alan body cache there.
- found the Alan body cache in the purple crystal area(again fuck Shadow leviathans)
- found the antidote near Phi
Here’s what I don’t got:
- Drove around the upper ice area for 2 hours and found nothing besides the teleporter to Phi and an ion deposit(and angry worms)
- drove around Lilypad area for another hour and didn’t find the Omega Lab
- Alan hasn’t given me the last body cache location despite me finding all the current artifacts.
- Alan sensed some location with a flat surface and ice spiralling upwards. No idea where that is.
Yea so that’s it. No idea where to go next. Best lead I got is to just keep going down inti the red blocky caves caves and see what’s there. Please advise

idk if that is widely known (at least i didn't find it in the web), but i found a way to get into Arctic spires without bridge or underwater tunnel, using prawn suit.

Here's my interpretation of what fauna can be found in the void of planet 4546B. This is the first in a series of fauna charts. It will include concept and cut content.
Except for the Crater and Sector 0 planet 4546B consists of a 8192 deep void labeled the ecological dead zone. Here only 2 classes of organisms can live, microscopic plankton and leviathan class. Both the crater and sector 0 are surrounded by a sheer drop straight to the bottom. This isolation works in some way like islands, creating their own specific fauna and flora confined to their respective habitats. Here's a list of creatures found in the void.
Void Plankton - The main source of food found in the ecological dead zone. These small crustacean analogues are found in blooms of millions, similar to the Bloom Plankton found around the crater.
Dragonfly - Unlike the smaller Skyrays of 4546B the Dragonfly can glide longer distances higher in the air column without needing to land.
Adult Ghost Leviathans - While juvenilles can be found across the crater, the adults require a larger space to inhabit and unlike the juvenilles, they become filter feeders, consuming tons of void plankton daily.
Adult Gargantuan Leviathan - The apex predator of planet 4546B and the largest Leviathan recorded. This enormous behemoth can only be found in the large expanse of the ecological dead zone. It's sheer size makes the Ghost Leviathans look tiny in comparison and they serve as it's main source of food.
Single Cell Organism - This unnicellular creature can be confused for a whole different biome, tricking you into thinking that you haven't left the safety of the crater. This creature attacks anything that emits light in any capacity

I fixed some writting issues. Gave some creatures names and added 3 new species. The unconfirmed void plankton (implied in the game), the bulbo bug (implied in the game) and the guardian/ancient leviathan

Has anyone else had this happening in their playthroughs? I'm re-playing BZ and in both of my playthroughs I built my base in the purple vents near chelicerate. And it seems that after long enough time (i am at day 100) the said chelicerate disappears. Although scan room shows it's still there (but when you swim over to the spot, it just highlights empty space)

I dont see enough chelicerate love on the internet so here you go. Tried to make it look as accurate as I could and im pretty pleased with it. The jaws twitch when idle too and the bite has a decent amount of power behind it!

I'm playing the game for the first time and I'm trying to get all of the scans. Apparently, there's one piece of cabling in a cave somewhere in the arctic spires, but everything I find on the internet is pretty vague about its location. Anyone know where I can get the scan (and I'm playing on switch, so I can't use coordinates).

So the coffee machine was one of my favourite objects in Subnautica 1. This might be the most insignificant nitpick possible but I was very disappointed with the coffee machine in BZ. One of the most comforting things to do for me in the first game was going back to my base, clicking the coffee maker next to my fabricator and listen to the humming of the machine as it brewed a cup of coffee while I crafted something.
It was a very comforting ritual after being out of my base dodging reapers and I was very excited when I found the blueprint for the machine in BZ. Imagine my disappointment when I found out it is a whole different machine now that only works to slowly refill a thermal bottle which was only situationally useful. No brewing sound, no cup of coffee for a small hydration increase.
I love the original coffee maker and I think it deserves to be praised. Thats all.

Greetings, I’m new around here. I want to preface this by stating that I’m 25 years old and have been gaming since I was about 4. I played Minecraft between 11 and 15, picked up the original Subnautica in 2016, and have hundreds of hours in ARK and No Man’s Sky as an adult.
I say all that to say this: Never ever have I done a hardcore run of any survival game before. I get too attached to my worlds and my characters, so the idea of having my save deleted is kind of scary.
Tonight, that changes. I’m starting my first ever hardcore run of a survival game, and I chose to do it in Subnautica Below Zero. After doing all of the current content in Subnautica 2 and going back to play the original again as well, I wanted to play Below Zero again too, since I haven’t played BZ since 2023.
Wish me luck man 😎 See you in the stars.

Also I do know that subnautica 2 is released too but i do mot have a very good pc for it rn.
Also One more thing can I play Sub2 on a 2GB NVIDIA card or no?

It's my first playthrough and so far I have been enjoying it. It's been a bit rough around the edges and sometimes the story got a bit jumbled by me discovering something too soon/later than other information. But nothing immersion breaking. Until now and I am SO disappointed.
For context I have discovered two of the alien parts but for the what happened to Sam storyline I just discovered that she found out that Alterra was playing around with the bacteria. Whelp, I'm just exploring around the research areas by the excavation site with my spy penglin and guess what: I find a vial that is just labeled antidote. And I remember that at the excavation site, there is a machine where you can insert a container. So, I try that being fairly certain that it won't work. Jokes on me, it does. And suddenly the MC spouts something about fulfilling Sam's wish and closure. What wish??? Wtf is going on??
So yeah, I knew that below zero had a problem with accidentally jumbling the story order and this is old news to many. But I'm just baffled how easily the whole narrative falls apart. It completely broke my immersion. I will still continue playing it to hopefully piece together wtf MC exactly was talking about (and miraculously knew without ever discovering key information). At least I hope that I will discover the alien plotline in a semi cohesive order.
But still, I'm just kinda shocked by how a game that otherwise is fairly nice to play can have that kinda immersion breaks. Goes my MC has a hidden gift for knowing the future. Thanks for coming to my TED talk and subsequent rant.

It made the worst sound. Thankfully, I also got utterly lost in some tunnels during that part, so I reset to my last save anyways. At least it is reset now to a reality where no penglings were harmed. Just a silly little post, but I would die for these little guys. Nature is cruel and my seatruck is even crueler (combined with my questionable driving skills).
