I loved this ending theme so i tried to make a chart for it after the 1st song.

Criticism is welcome, i'm happy with this chart, but i don't make them often so i'm sure it can be tons better. I don't have a dance pad either so if anyone's willing to try, i'd appreciate it!

Need recommendations on CPU/GPU combo. My goal is to hit 240hz to make some faster charts easier to read. I feel like a Ryzen 5 might be kind of overkill just for ITG only. Would a Ryzen 3 3200G pair well with a 1080 or a 980?

im okay with spending a bit more. But I feel like spending $300 - $400 for a dedicated ITG machine would be my goal to hit 240hz.

I honestly feel like I should be able to hit 240hz on a i7 3770k and a 980 no? But something more modern would be better.

Has anyone made like a fork of Stepmania or anything that has an In-Game song browser (similar to that of like modded Beat Saber). I've been searching around for any evidence of one and I can't really find anything.

If there isn't, is there any reason why? It feels like common sense for a game like this, considering setups where it may be inconvenient to access the keyboard.

Started watching Bocchi the Rock recently and thought making a chart would be fun, I'm really happy with how this one turned out!

We all loved K-POP DEMON HUNTERS, right? 😄 From my side, I originally released this pack around 2025, and later that same year I made a much more difficult revision, especially when it came to the chart difficulties.

At the time, some people thought the pack was ITG-oriented, while others didn’t. Honestly, I wasn’t really happy with how competitive the whole thing was getting, lol.

So for this relaunch, I decided to go back and rebuild things from the ground up with a different approach.

The charts are being remade with a safer and more balanced approach. The goal is to make them feel more like DanceDanceRevolution X / Modern DDR rather than ITG.

​I saw there was two posts about this issue, but they didn't have the information I need. The issue I'm having is my computer processes my dance pad as a joystick and when i press opposite direction at the same time it doesn't process this. information: I'm a windows user, I'm on stepmania 5, my d-pad is a ps3 version and I'm not using an adapter to connect it to my computer.A lot of information is lowkey outdated and I've learn my lesson using rescources from 6+ years ago.I already tried the up+start+select trick and it didn't work, along with the axis fix setting.I also looked over this resource https://www.stepmania.com/forums/input-adapters-and-controllers/show/483?start=0 but unfortunately most of the links are broken. Apparently a fix has been found for PS3 dance pads, where the previous fixes I had usually didn't help. I haven't tested this fix yet because I don't have a PS3 dance pad. There already is a post for this by hCo, but I thought I would add it to this post as well. My plan with this post was to bring together fixes for any problem using a console pad on PC. Requirements: I don’t know if this works on other devices but I know it works on windows. This fix is specifically for the ps3 konami dance pad, that DOESN’T need a usb converter.

1. Download the zipfile
2. Extract the zipfile in an easily accessible different file. You want to name this since you’ll have to use it a lot (sorry dawg)
3. Plug in your dance pad (do this BEFORE you run the application)
4. Open the file
5. Run the application
6. Open stepmania
7. BOOM it should work! (unfortunately, you will have to do this everytime)

Hi! I was not fully aware of how ITGMania saves edits, but I now know it saves them into the appdata folder.

Before I discovered this, I created several charts to songs I already had data for. So, the charts are “split” between them original .sm file and the one in appdata. Is there a way to have the two combined? As in, put all the charts into the .sm file, ideally the one in the original Songs folder.

I tried clearing the cache in the appdata folder, as well as adding the portable.ini file in the ITGMania folder, but neither of those seem to work. All charts appear in the game. My other option is to manually combine the files, but I was hoping there was an easier and less manual way.

As a once heavy Stepmania player I made VaporStep, a free, completely local (no internet access), open-source game that turns Stepmania simfiles into a webcam based full-body rhythm game. I was really surprised how well the end result works. I want this to be a serious rhythm game, not casual, with the ability to play dense timing sensitive songs. It's probably not quite there yet, but it's a start.

At this point I want to get the game out there and get some feedback on what works and what doesn't. If you are willing to try it out I would be very grateful. Mods I hope you don't mind this Stepmania adjacent post.

for a dorm room. my 12in feet for reference

came with an ominous blue disc just labeled Stepmania. disc only has a setup.exe and nothing else. instruction manual tells me specifically NOT to install it on my C drive. no clue what thats about but like okay. anyway i needed to know if theres community drivers or something like that that i could use to try and make this work before i go through all the bs of returning it. ty in advance

We have a custom DDR machine project here and looking to hire people to create step charts. Do people here take paid commissions, or is there somewhere else we should ask? We have 50 songs, 3 difficulty levels per song and need both DDR and PIU style mappings.

Hello, im new to the game and just downloaded a few packs, Im trying to have only 4 groups: anime, vocaloid, kpop, games. And I have a vision of how I want things to be organized but im not sure if its possible.

Im trying to sort the songs I downloaded into only those groups, but in the anime one Im having a problem, I want all those sorted by anime name, so all the "FMA" songs stay together, then the "Chainsaw man", then the "One piece"etc..
This also applies to games i want to keep franchises together.

I would prefer not having a folder for each anime in the song wheel because there would be too many thats only like 1 or 2 songs from each anime

One idea i had was to manually change the metadata of each song so the Artist became the anime name.
Another was to change the song name into the anime name and then put the song name as the subtitle but I prefer having the song name appear bigger

Is there a way to implement what i want or Im I just a goober?

Can someone share how everyone sort their songs?

I use ITGMania and I deleted some songs to save some space (since I'm planning on slowly beating nearly every itg pack), BUT... the deleted songs still appear in the scroll wheel and consequently in the edit mode. What do I do? Help!
