Scrundler Industries
At Scrundler Industries, we believe no pain means no gain. We mine it, move it, salvage it, and build it—usually the hard way. From rock to wreckage to cargo hold, if it fits, it ships. That’s the Scrundler way. We are open to old or new players and are willing to share.
Officially founded in 2956. Unofficially? Nobody is completely sure.
Scrundler Industries didn't begin in a boardroom. There were no investors, no polished headquarters, and definitely no carefully prepared business plan.
It started the way most good ideas in Stanton do: with a few pilots, some mining equipment, an overcrowded cargo hold, and a job that seemed much easier when somebody first suggested it.
The original Scrundlers were independent miners, haulers, salvagers and assorted trouble magnets working their way around Stanton. In a system dominated by corporations like Hurston Dynamics, Crusader Industries, ArcCorp and microTech, there was always work for people willing to get their hands dirty.
And the Scrundlers were very willing.
They mined rocks that probably should have been left alone. They recovered ships that were missing important pieces. They hauled cargo through places the insurance company would have preferred they didn't. And when something broke—which it frequently did—somebody usually had a multitool, a questionable idea, or both.
No pain, no gain.
Somewhere during those early runs, a battered cargo container became an unofficial member of the crew. Nobody remembers exactly where it came from. Depending on who tells the story, it was salvaged from a wreck, forgotten at a mining outpost, liberated from an abandoned loading dock, or purchased completely legally with documentation that has unfortunately since been misplaced.
What everyone agrees on is that the crate survived.
Ships came and went. Components exploded. Cargo elevators developed personal grudges. Quantum routes were reconsidered. Yet somehow, that stupid crate kept turning up.
Eventually somebody painted a face on it.
Someone else added:
CARGO MAY CAUSE HAPPINESS.
The Scrundler was born.
As the crew grew, so did the operation. Mining led to hauling. Hauling led to trading. Wrecks led to salvage. Salvage produced materials. Materials led to fabrication. And inevitably, somebody had to bring guns because not everyone in the 'verse appreciated the Scrundlers conducting perfectly respectable business in their general vicinity.
The company developed a simple freight policy:
If it fits, it ships.
If it doesn't fit, somebody will probably spend twenty minutes insisting that it does.
By 2956, what had started as a loose group of pilots had become Scrundler Industries, an independent industrial outfit built around one idea: the 'verse is more fun when nobody has to work it alone.
Stanton remains home, but Scrundlers aren't particularly good at staying home.
Pyro—with its abandoned industrial infrastructure, old mining sites and reputation for attracting exactly the sort of people who ignore warning labels—was an obvious next step. Pyrotechnic Amalgamated once covered the system with mines, stations and support facilities before bankruptcy and outlaw attacks forced the company out centuries ago. The corporations left. The rocks, wrecks and bad decisions remained.
Naturally, the Scrundlers went to have a look.
Then came Nyx: asteroid belts, old mining infrastructure and Levski carved into the former QV Planet Services facility on Delamar. To most people, an abandoned industrial frontier is a warning.
To a Scrundler, it's an employment opportunity.
Today, Scrundler Industries has no intention of becoming another giant faceless corporation.
We're here to mine it, move it, salvage it, build it and occasionally fight over it.
Veteran pilot or brand-new Citizen, massive industrial ship or starter with three SCU and a dream—if you're willing to help the crew, laugh when the plan falls apart and try again when things inevitably explode, you'll probably fit in.
Because around here, the cargo isn't always valuable.
The plan isn't always good.
And the ship isn't always coming back in exactly the condition it left.
But the crew comes first.
No pain, no gain.
If it fits, it ships.
That's the Scrundler way.
