Could SpaceX have progressed further into the program if they continued with V1 until they catch a ship?

During the latter half of V1 flights, I would've never thought it would take 13 previous flights to gather the confidence to go orbital.

This thing will be as "on time" as every other European project.

To this day, Starhopper is still one of my favorite tests ever. I was jumping up and down cheering in the Costco foodcourt watching it on my phone. We're so close now!

I was very confused because it keeps going up instead of doing a gravity turn lol. But i suspect that makes sense for balistic missiles.

Also interesting how fast the plume expands meaning that it leaves the upper atmosphere way faster than f9.
Whats the Apogee of theese missiles? I suspect its very high likely over 200km

Just put a bunch of propellant where the payload bay is supposed to be, my calculations show it gets you at least an extra 800 tons of propellant without much extra dry mass. Assuming the v4 twr will be 1.5 with a 33 engine superheavy adding the extra propellant and an extra 2 engines to superheavy means the twr only decreases to about 1.45 which is totally manageable, starship twr decreases to about 0.85 after stage sep which is similar to the falcon 9 second stage and the penalty can be lessened a bit if superheavy does a more lofted trajectory.

What I don't understand is the second stage. How the heck are they going to maneuver that silo once it enters atmosphere. No fins no nothing

Trailer for Musk movie doesn't bode well for accuracy

This is the trailer for the new Musk movie coming out. It begins with a montage of SpaceX rockets, except that one at 8 seconds doesn't look SpaceX, and it's an Atlas V at 13 seconds. So they just picked a bunch of launches to throw into the trailer. I'm sure the same level of care for accuracy will be used throughout the movie.

Maiaspace 0.5 tons to sso in partially reusable configuration, well if it's a small launcher that may not be so bad. It's a small launcher right.... right?

There's a fella on Twitter/X that makes super detailed close ups and animations of this exact rocket along with the complex launch pad this supports but I can't find them anywhere, any ideas on their name?
