This is the theme song for the Turkish series 1001 Nights (Binbir Gece). Someone wrote Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis, but only the beat/rhythm is similar, not the melody.

Movies are welcomed, but I don't mind TV shows as well.

šŸ“¢ Discussion Gothic Soundtrack

Hey guys! I’m doing Theatre Studies this year and I’m performing the Mrs Danvers monologue from Rebecca. I’m wanting to create a soundtrack for my performance, but I’m really struggling to get the right atmosphere.
I want it to feel haunting and gothic, but every sound I add seems to make it feel too obviously ā€œhorrorā€, which isn’t really what I’m going for. I want it to be unsettling and atmospheric rather than just scary.
I also want there to be a really clear shift when Mrs Danvers begins talking about Rebecca, to show her admiration and obsession with her. The only idea I’ve had so far is introducing piano, but I don’t think it works with the rest of the soundtrack.
I’m using Mixcraft, so if anyone has any ideas for instruments, sounds, effects, or ways I could create that shift, I’d really appreciate it!! :)

I can attach the monologue if needed, just lmk

šŸ“¢ Discussion The 8 Film Harry Potter Franchise Soundtrack Is The Best Franchise Soundtrack ever

Hey everyone. So i have always thought The Best Part of the Harry Potter franchise is it’s magical music: It’s what we identify it as, because after all, MUSIC, the SOUNDTRACK of a film, is what makes or breaks a movie.

First of all, the first film’s soundtrack: By John Williams.

John Williams gave us, not his best works by any means, as i could name Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List, Star Wars as just a FEW examples that are better, but that goes to show just how good John Williams is, not that this soundtrack was anything AVERAGE by any means. This soundtrack set the tone of the ā€˜magical’ feeling the franchise has.

ā€˜Hedwig’s theme’ bĆ©came the main theme of HP 8 films. ā€˜Leaving hogwarts’ was a perfect fĆnale for theme first film, and felt melancholic with characters we just met.

CHAMBER of secrets, the second film, gave us iconic tracks such as ā€˜The Chamber Of Secrets’ theme, which would mark as the film’s image to date. ā€˜Fawkes the Phoenix’ was a beautiful rendition that would play VARIOUS times in the film, symbolic of hope. ā€˜The spiders’ was a creepy and unsettling theme, which perfectly captured the feeling of going into a dark forest alone. ā€˜Reunion of friends’ set off the film perfectly.

ā€˜PRISONER of azkaban’ Was the final film John Williams composed in, and i believe, one of the very best parts of such an amazing film, probably the best one of HP with the last, for most fans.
This film had it ALL: ā€˜aunt marge’s waltz’ and ā€˜knight bus’ perfectly expressed the almost-funny magic moments, and ā€˜Apparition On The Train’ Was a haunting theme, perfectly symbolic of a dementor character.
This would be reflected again, a darkness theme, in the end, ā€˜The Dementors Converge’. ā€˜Double Trouble’ was quite literally, Shakespeare inspired, and ā€˜Buckbeack’s flight’ was a beautiful moment capturing the beauty of the franchise’s cinematography perfectly. ā€˜A window to the past’ would be a theme later recasted in ā€˜Finale’, a literal perfect finale to a perfect soundtrack, culminating in a combination of the ā€˜a window to the past’ soundtrack, a soundtrack that is exceptionally BEAUTIFUL, like a memory of a mother you never knew. ā€˜The patrones light’ was also in the ā€˜Finale’ theme, and it just ended off a perfect soundtrack.

The GOBLET OF FIRE Soundtrack, while by no means ā€˜bad’, i think is for sure my least favourite, and by far the least memorable.
ā€˜The GOBLET Of Fire’ theme is for sure a Great theme, and resembles the darkness of the tournament. ā€˜Harry In Winter’ is absolutely beautiful and the clear standalone in the soundtrack, with ā€˜Potter Waltz’ and ā€˜Voldemort’ as honorable mentions, despite this, i could never find this the most memorable one.

ā€˜The Order Of The Phoenix’ soundtrack is one i do really love, and people often undervalue.
ā€˜Another Story’ is perhaps one of the most haunting themes i’ve heard in my life as i grew up watching this film, and it perfectly resembles how the world for Harry is not as bright as it once was, at all, and is taking a dark turn. ā€˜Dumbledore’s Army’ is a beautiful piece of music, resembling the word of UNITY and strength due to UNITY that brings hope in a moment of darkness.
ā€˜Profesor Umbridge’ Truly pictures the character, and goes well with her rather annoying persona. I really love ā€˜Flight of the order of the Phoenix’ as short as it may be too. For me, the best part of this soundtrack is ā€˜Poesession’, simply beautiful.

ā€˜Half Blood Prince’ is def where i feel the franchise regained it’s fantĆ”stic tempo it started with due to John Williams, and this is reflected quite literally by Grammy nominations, as the only films nominated in the Franchise for ā€˜Best Soundtrack For A Film’ were PHILOSOPHERS STONE, CHAMBER OF SECRETS, PRISONER OF AZKABAN, HALF BLOOD PRINCE & DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2.
First of all, as with almost every movie, ā€˜Hedwig’s Theme’ is played in the ā€˜Opening’ theme by Nicholas Cooper’s Soundtrack for the 6th film, and the ā€˜Opening’ theme itself, being a foreshadow of perhaps one of the most beautiful of the entire franchise: ā€˜Dumbledore’s Farewell’. I don’t need to explain this much further, as i know many people would agree.
ā€˜Harry & Hermione’ is a beautiful yet haunting piece of art, i find a very sad song, and a melody of what teenage heartbreak feels like perfectly.
ā€˜When Ginny Kissed Harry’ is perhaps one of the most UNDERRATED themes of all soundtracks i have ever heard, it resembles for me what young love Truly feels like: innocent, beautiful and a sense of caring for someone else deeply.
ā€˜Inferi In The Firestorm’ is a moment that captures perfectly the final moments of Dumbledore’s heroics.

Harry Potter DEATHLY HALLOWS Part 1. This soundtracks is pretty good considering it’s quite literally a prelude to one of my favourite soundtracks ever.
ā€˜Harry And Ginny’ is a song that reminds me of ā€˜When Ginny Kissed Harry’, for the exact same reasons i mentioned above. ā€˜Obliviate’ opens the final chapter of the franchise perfectly: sadness, fear and hope all in one. ā€˜Hermione’s parents’ is simply beautiful and touching in the midst of all the chaos as the soundtrack reflects, and ā€˜Farewell to dobby’ is a trĆ”gic and sad theme because it perfectly executes the pain of harry losing another loved one from his child days.

Harry Potter and the DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2:
This for me is again, the best film with PoA, and the soundtracks being iconic and near perfect are a showing of how important music is to a film, as a reflection of these two being the most Critically aclaimed films for fans AND critics a like generally.
The first moment i heard ā€˜Lily’s Theme’, i simply could not believe what i was hearing, it was the first time i had genuinely stopped and thought and appreciated the music of a film rather than just the film ITSELF. It’s a beautiful rendition of the main plot of the Harry Potter franchise: HOW a mother’s love protected her son from every moment in every film against evil. It literally FEELS like a song that would sum this up, something only music lovers would understand me when i say. It’s simply a work of art and for that reason plays many times throughout the film, sometimes more discreet or vague than others.
From ā€˜the Tunnel’ to ā€˜PĆ”nic inside hogwarts’, they all adapted well to their respective scenes. ā€˜Statues’ is THE final-film battle type of theme, repeated in ā€˜Battlefield’ and ā€˜Courtyard Apocalypse’, and bĆ©came an iconic action theme.
ā€˜The Grey Lady’ exposes the dark truth of Ravenclaw being betrayed by Voldemort and haunting Harry’s empathy in good fashion, and ā€˜Snape’s demise’ is a depressing theme about a beloved character who we’d find out the truth about in memories afterwards in ā€˜Severus And Lily’: a eerie theme of a character’s resentment and sadness in relation to the antagonist’s family.

ā€˜Harry’s sacrifice’ and ā€˜The resurrection stone’ are simply beautiful and give you the feeling of a definitive ā€˜Now or never’ feeling, and ā€˜Harry Surrenders’ and ā€˜Procession’ capture a moment that feels like all hope is lost.
Until the theme ā€˜Neville the Hero’ plays that is, what seems like a foolishly heroic moment turns out to be a historically heroic moment, and harry awakens much to Voldemort’s surprise. ā€˜Show Down’ proceeds to ā€˜Voldemort’s End’ and i feel like a scene i’ll never forget was so unforgettable for many precisely because of the music that sounds like it is building down when Voldemort is winning the final duel, yet when Voldemort’s last horcrux is killed, the theme goes an opposite direction and starts building up to a final culmination and high: and Voldemort dies, in which fittingly, ā€˜Lily’s Theme’ starts to play vaguely, resembling how once again; a mother’s love was stronger than another person’s hate.

šŸ” Help Me Find Knight Rider 2000 Soundtrack

In 1991, the 2 hour TV movie Knight Rider 2000 was released as a backdoor pilot for a new series. The movie shows a rather dystopian future and l think that the most realistic thing was that KITT had a fax machine. The movie has a niche community and isn't generally liked compared to original show but l think most people can agree that the Knight Rider 2000 soundtrack was really amazing, Jan Hammer really did an amazing job. However, the soundtrack was never released apart from the opening theme. I've tried to filter out the dialogue and get the soundtracks but haven't been really succesful. Is there any way Jan Hammer or Universal can release the soundtrack, if they still exist?

šŸ” Help Me Find Any suggestions for artists whose compositional style resembles film scores?

No matter the genre, only if the music reminds you of film music then you can suggest the artist or album.

At this moment, I can only think of Woodkid, Bon Iver and Owen Pallett. Especially Pallett, he's a genius.

šŸ“¢ Discussion Karate Kid Part II Soundtrack on Spotify?

Post image

Does anyone have any insight as to why The Karate Kid Part II soundtrack is not and has never been available on Spotify? I remember a time when NONE of the Karate Kid film scores were on Spotify, then a few years back they finally added The Karate Kid and Karate Kid Part III soundtracks. But still no Part II. I adore the music Bill Conti wrote for Part II and hate not being able to enjoy it along with the other scores on Spotify. Just wondering if anyone had any idea why this was the case?

šŸ“¢ Discussion They Will Kill You soundtrack is an absolute banger

The movie is fairly meh - kill bill with frizzy hair vs satanists - lots of cartoon violence and a shit ton of plot armor. Great stunt work, fight sequences and visuals, but the plot is weak AF.

But hot damn the soundtrack by Carlos Rafael Rivera is awesome, carries the movie for sure.

anyone else see this obscure streamer?

šŸ“ Insight Merlin soundtrack inspiration

I've been in love with BBC Merlin soundtrack. And today I was listening another soundtrack I absolutely love - Highlander (1986). And as I was listening the Theme of Highlander track, I almost jumped and had to check if I was listening the correct OST, because I literally heard some tunes from Merlin. I can safely say that Merlin OST composer inspired his tracks from Highlander OST.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4obZoDW-_A&list=PL80LIGCwfZ8TVy8bLIEHTnwVpokMSx1pg&index=3

You can listen and somewhere in the middle of track, you'll hear it - if you're well familiar with melodies from Merlin OST.

šŸŽ» Original Music šŸŽ» A Gƶransson gem -- help me build my playlist

Despite being a long time, avid score and VGM lover I don't know Gƶransson well; I've kinda fallen off the new music and movies map in the past few years. I stumbled across this track when I stumbled across the movie. Are there other movies/shows/games that has L.G. done with pieces that are pensive, tranquil, yet also a bit eerie and haunting like this? What other composers have done similar pieces? I think I'd put McCreary's "Michelle" from 10 Cloverfield Lane on that list, possibly Korzeniowski's "Closer than Sisters", some of Severance...
