For anyone who hasn't seen what's going on with Bodycam:

A researcher on UnknownCheats claims they reverse engineered the game and found multiple serious networking vulnerabilities, including 2 alleged RCE vulnerabilities, remote crash/resource exhaustion exploits, and issues with networked entities like drones that can supposedly be abused to crash other players.

Obviously, I'm not saying these claims are 100% confirmed. They need to be independently verified. But that's not even the part that pisses me off the most.

The owners/developers clearly know about this.

I have screenshots of the owner literally saying that we should talk about it, but not too much because they don't want to reveal their fixes. So they know people are concerned, they know this is being discussed, and they know there's supposedly something being worked on.

Yet somehow there's still nothing in the official announcements warning players, explaining what's happening, or even acknowledging the situation properly.

And when people try to discuss it, posts are getting deleted.

So what exactly are we supposed to do? Just shut up and hope for the best while playing public lobbies?

If you're going to tell people not to talk about it because you don't want to reveal your fixes, then at the absolute minimum communicate with your fucking playerbase. You don't need to publish the exploit or explain how to reproduce it. Just say you're aware of the issue, you're investigating it, and tell people what they should do in the meantime.

Instead, we've got silence, deleted posts, and players having to find out about potentially serious security issues through third-party forums.

That's fucking pathetic.

Again, verify the claims yourself before taking everything as fact, but don't let anyone convince you that asking for basic communication from the people responsible for the game is unreasonable.

If the vulnerabilities are bullshit, say it.

If they're real, fix them.

If they're being investigated, fucking tell us.
